Reborn : Space Intelligent Woman

”Miss Chen Meili, and the two individuals lurking at the back of the room, I am ordering you to leave my company premises immediately. Miss Chen Meili, you seem to have forgotten that you have already been dismissed by me personally during our previous encounter. Not to mention the undeniable fact that you are not, and have never been, an official employee of the QinYue Group. You were merely a former low-level worker at the YQ Greenhouse. Therefore, I will ask you one last time to leave at once. Otherwise...” Yu Qi stopped mid-sentence, her lips curving into a faint yet deeply meaningful smile that promised severe, unavoidable consequences.

At her words, every head in the grand hall turned in unison to stare at Chen Meili, who suddenly became the center of unwanted, piercing attention. The other two individuals Yu Qi had referred to were none other than Chen Guoliang and Xue Jinghua. They had secretly heard about the high-stakes nature of this assembly and had arrived with the desperate intention of observing the situation from the shadows, foolishly hoping that they might find some way to turn things around in their favour at the very last moment.

In fact, Chen Guoliang and Xue Jinghua had even discussed a backup plan to publicly beg Yu Qi for mercy if things went south. However, they had not expected, even in their wildest dreams, that Yu Qi would notice their presence so quickly amidst the dense crowd and directly order them to leave the building without a single moment’s hesitation. They stood there, frozen and exposed, as the weight of her cold gaze stripped away the last remaining shred of their dignity.

Chen Meili became absolutely furious when she heard Yu Qi’s dismissive words. Even though she had repeatedly promised herself that she would not act emotionally or lose her temper in this situation, she still could not control herself when Yu Qi singled her out so publicly and ruthlessly.

”You think you are so powerful just because you have a fancy title and a big office! My family, especially my uncle, Chen Song, helped your company become this big. You cannot just throw us away like bags of trash after we built this place for you. You are nothing but a spoiled rich girl who got lucky!” Chen Meili screamed, her voice cracking as she pointed her trembling finger directly at Yu Qi’s face.

The room fell into a stunned silence, and everyone was rendered speechless by the outburst. This girl... did she even truly know that Yu Qi was not a ”rich girl” born into wealth, as she had just claimed? Chen Song was also speechless, though for a different reason. Even though he had been working with the company for three years, he was never part of its core operations, and hearing his niece claim they ”built” the company made his blood run cold.

Yu Qi did not flinch at the accusation. She did not even blink. She simply stood behind the polished mahogany podium, watching the meltdown with the detached, clinical curiosity of a scientist observing a frantic specimen under a microscope.

”Your family made this company big? Miss Chen, I suggest you do not make jokes like that. It is embarrassing. This company functions despite your family’s presence, not because of it. Every day you walked through those doors, you were nothing more than a parasite, draining vital resources and morale from the people who actually worked for their living.” Yu Qi suddenly spoke up, her voice calm and steady, but cutting through the air like a razor.

”Chairwoman Tang, please, I beg you, do not listen to her words! I never said anything like that, nor do I share her delusions!” Chen Song immediately defended himself in a state of sheer panic, his forehead breaking out in a cold sweat.

”I do not care much about what you have to say. Well, the truth is, you are not my employee anymore. Whose names are not in this list, you are dismissed effectively immediately.” Yu Qi said nonchalantly, waving a hand as if she were brushing away a bothersome fly.

Yu Qi then shifted her icy gaze toward the back of the hall, where Chen Guoliang and Xue Jinghua were still attempting to shrink into the darkness of the shadows.

”And as for the three of you...” Yu Qi continued, her gaze moving toward Chen Meili’s parents with predatory focus. ”Take your daughter and leave right now. Otherwise, I will not only have security escort you out by force, but I will also ensure that criminal trespassing charges are filed before the sun sets today.”

Lei Yingtai signalled to the security guards at once with a sharp nod. Xue Jinghua opened her mouth, perhaps intending to begin the long, rehearsed plea for mercy she had prepared, but one look at the four imposing security guards stepping forward silenced her instantly.

Chen Guoliang immediately understood that Yu Qi was being completely serious. She was not a woman who made empty threats. He did not want to be sued or have a criminal record. Without hesitation, he grabbed Chen Meili and Xue Jinghua roughly by the arms and began dragging them toward the exit. Chen Meili struggled and kicked, but her father’s grip was far too strong for her to break free.

Seeing her very last line of defence retreating, Chen Meili turned desperately toward her uncle, Chen Song, one last time.

”Uncle! Say something! Tell her she cannot do this to us!” Chen Meili pleaded, her voice rising into a desperate, high-pitched wail that echoed off the high ceilings.

Chen Song glanced at Chen Meili once, his eyes full of hidden resentment and fear, but he did not speak up for his niece.
