Chapter 2666: Chapter 2666: Arrange The Meeting

She found herself deeply reluctant to return to the solitude of her own house, which felt far too vast and hauntingly empty with Long Hui away on his latest dangerous mission. Besides, she had already meticulously planned to utilise her spiritual connection to visit Long Hui through Shino’s body tonight, and the serene, peaceful atmosphere of the family home provided the perfect sanctuary for such deep, uninterrupted meditation.

The moment they arrived and stepped out of the car, Su Xiao and the twins came rushing out to welcome them with open arms and genuine warmth.

Tang Heng Nuo did not hesitate for even a single second. She sprinted straight toward her grandpa and reached up silently, imperiously demanding to be lifted. Grandpa Tang let out a hearty, booming laugh as he scooped Tang Heng Nuo up and hoisted her high into the air. The little girl squealed and laughed to her heart’s content, her pure joy echoing brightly through the lush garden.

”Father, Yu Qi, welcome home. And Uncle Mu, it is truly wonderful to see you again,” Su Xiao said as she approached the group with a graceful, elegant smile.

Su Xiao was well aware of Grandpa Mu’s true identity. She had met him several times over the years and had always treated him with the utmost respect and deference.

”Sister Qi, do you have a moment to spare?” Tang Bo Lin asked as he approached Yu Qi.

He stood close and reached out to tug lightly at the fabric of her pants, his young expression uncharacteristically serious and earnest.

”What is it, Xiao Lin? Do you need something?” Yu Qi asked softly.

She gracefully squatted down so she could meet the young boy’s eyes at his own level, giving him her full, undivided attention.

Recently, she had taken to calling Tang Bo Lin ’Xiao Lin’ as a term of endearment. At first, the boy had shown a clear, vocal dislike for the nickname, finding it perhaps a little too childish for his burgeoning sense of maturity.

However, as the days passed, he seemed to grow secretly fond of the melodic way it sounded whenever she uttered it. Still, he remained incredibly stubborn about the name.

Yu Qi was the only person in the entire world whom he permitted to use it. No one else was allowed such a liberty, not even his own mother could get away with calling him that without receiving a stern, disapproving look in return.

”Sister Qi, I have some questions I need to ask you. Can we go to the library?” Tang Bo Lin requested.

”Sure. Let’s go.” Yu Qi nodded with a smile. She then turned back to Grandpa Mu. ”Grandfather, please make yourself at home.”

”Hmm...” Grandpa Mu nodded in acknowledgement.

Yu Qi followed Tang Bo Lin toward the library, suspecting that the young boy likely wanted to consult her regarding complex medical matters.

...

Yu Qi walked into the company headquarters, noticing immediately that a multitude of people turned their heads to track her figure. It was a rare occurrence for Yu Qi to visit the company in person. The employees whispered among themselves, assuming that since she had arrived personally, something of great significance must have transpired.

Ignoring the weight of everyone’s stares, Yu Qi stepped into her private elevator and ascended to her floor. The moment the elevator doors glided open, she was greeted by Lei Yingtai.

”Ms Yu Qi, you are here.” Lei Yingtai said, welcoming her with a professional smile.

”Hmm... Let’s discuss the matter in my office.” Yu Qi nodded.

They entered Yu Qi’s office. Although it had been quite a while since her last visit, everything remained exceptionally pristine. There was not a single speck of dust to be found anywhere.

”Did you manage to gather the material?” Yu Qi questioned.

”Yes. Here you are.” Lei Yingtai placed a thick file onto the polished table.

It was the comprehensive audit that Yu Qi had commissioned Lei Yingtai to conduct regarding Chen Song. She wanted to ascertain exactly how many members of Chen Song’s extended family had been funnelled into her company. She opened the file and began to read through the data with predatory focus.

”Wow... You are truly amazing, Chen Song... You managed to hire forty-seven people after assuming your position, yet only six of them are actually qualified for their roles and competent at their jobs. If this continues, this company might as well change its name to Chen.” Yu Qi remarked, laughing coldly.

The majority of these hires relied entirely on Chen Song’s influence to maintain their positions. Whenever a colleague asked them to perform their duties, they would react with hostility, scolding the person instead. They moved through the office believing they were untouchable, habitually pushing their responsibilities onto others. Furthermore, whenever they inevitably made mistakes, they shamelessly deflected the blame onto innocent staff members.

Yu Qi narrowed her eyes as she delved deeper into the report. Lei Yingtai, standing poised in front of Yu Qi, could clearly feel the temperature in the room drop as Yu Qi’s anger intensified. Finally, Yu Qi set the file down.

”With the exception of those six qualified individuals, fire everyone else. Oh... but before that, gather them all in the main hall tomorrow. I want to be the one to fire them personally. Also, ensure Chen Song is present as well.” Yu Qi ordered sharply.

”Yes, Miss Yu Qi.” Lei Yingtai nodded obediently.

”By the way, is Brother Yu Hi in his office?” Yu Qi wondered about that.

It had been some time since she last saw Su Yu Hi, and since she was already on the premises, she wished to pay him a visit.
