In the Apocalypse, After Hoarding Supplies, They Teamed Up with a Powerful Figure and Went on a Killing Spree

11: Chapter 11 Heart-to-Heart Talk, The Kingdom of MedicineLu Yingman’s eyes lit up. ”That’s right, we can sneak in.”

Let’s see what Qi Yin is actually up to lately. Not only did she sell off her shares so casually, but she didn’t even think of her own family first.

Now she’s hiding away and refusing to see anyone; there must be something fishy going on.

The three of them thought their scheme was succeeding, but they didn’t notice a highly concealed camera at the main gate, which rotated slightly to record every single one of their words and actions.

Qi Yin watched the calculating expressions on the two people on the screen, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

Want to sneak in? Then I’ll prepare a ”surprise” for you!

But for now, she had more important things to do; she really didn’t have time to mess around with them.

The problem with the shelter had been preliminarily resolved. Judging by the procurement progress, the medicines and medical equipment had already been transported to the designated location.

You have to know, the medical industry is a highly profitable sector at any time, and there are many people eyeing it covetously.

Furthermore, there were those high-precision experimental devices as well. She had spent a fortune to acquire them, so she had to keep them firmly in her own hands.

However, this designated location was an isolated island previously purchased by the Xiao Conglomerate. It was separated from the port by a vast ocean, and she couldn’t get there without a helicopter.

It’s not that she couldn’t rent a cruise ship to get there, but it would be too much of a waste of time.

Therefore, Qi Yin still planned to directly ”commandeer” Xiao Sinian’s helicopter.

However, could someone tell her why Xiao Sinian was coming along this time? He couldn’t even stay still while sitting in a wheelchair.

Lu Yanxiu didn’t even bother to give her a heads-up; that was really uncool. As expected, having absolute power in one’s hands is the only true freedom.

Since she was taking his help, Qi Yin had no choice but to bite the bullet and go.

Xiao Sinian was still wearing the same gold-stamped mask as before, his sculpted eyes dangerously charming. She couldn’t imagine what he would look like if he weren’t in a wheelchair.

Before she could speak, Xiao Sinian spoke up first.

”What, not happy to see me?”

Qi Yin: ...

Although he was easy on the eyes, to say she was happy or unhappy would be an exaggeration; it was just a bit awkward.

”How could that be? President Xiao, you’re overthinking it. It’s just... given your physical condition, are you sure you want to go?”

She wasn’t concerned about Xiao Sinian, but rather, if he tagged along, how was she supposed to store the items into her space later?

Xiao Sinian raised his hand, and his bodyguards lifted him onto the helicopter. He said noncommittally, ”I’m in a bad mood, so I’m going for a trip to clear my mind with you, my Little Fiancée.”

Qi Yin: ...Why does this guy always have to bring up the most sensitive topics?

She endured it.

Once on the plane, Qi Yin fastened Xiao Sinian’s seatbelt and deliberately chose the seat furthest from him. She tinkered with her folding computer to check the remaining procurement progress, calculating in her mind how to ditch him once they reached the island.

Why did she fasten his seatbelt? Couldn’t the bodyguards do it? President Xiao said the bodyguards were busy flying the plane!

Not long after, Qi Yin couldn’t take it anymore.

Xiao Sinian had been staring at her ever since they boarded the plane; she couldn’t ignore it even if she wanted to.

”I’m telling you, if you have something to say, just say it, otherwise I’ll dig your eyeballs out.”

As she spoke, Qi Yin held up her two claws to gesture at their eyes, looking fierce, though it didn’t fit her ’cool older sister’ image at all.

Xiao Sinian kept staring at her without blinking, even looking intrigued.

”Qi Yin, in your eyes, am I really that bad?”

Qi Yin froze for a moment. Huh? How could Xiao Sinian have such a thought? As the president of the Xiao Conglomerate, if not for his illness, what woman in the capital wouldn’t want to marry him?

”President Xiao, are you joking with me? Look at yourself—you’re handsome, you have a great physique, and you’re a billionaire president. Who would think you’re bad?”

Although she hadn’t seen his face, Qi Yin just felt that, judging by his eyes alone, Xiao Sinian was definitely not ugly.

As for his physique, Qi Yin put down her computer and glanced at the bulging chest muscles under his black shirt, swallowing involuntarily.

With muscles like these and such long legs, she couldn’t be blamed for being greedy. It was mainly because Xiao Sinian’s image fit her fantasies of a 2D anime male lead perfectly.

”Since that’s the case, why do you run faster than a rabbit every time our engagement is mentioned? Do you despise me for being disabled?”

As he spoke, Xiao Sinian lowered his head to look at his legs, his expression somewhat forlorn.

In Qi Yin’s eyes, she thought he was feeling inferior. She wanted to comfort him but didn’t know how, as she hadn’t interacted with people much for a long time.

There was no helping it; she just couldn’t stand seeing a 2D character feel wronged. She had no choice but to move to the seat next to him to explain.

”It has nothing to do with you; it’s my problem.”

”Qi Mingyuan has been pushing hard lately, dying to pack me up and send me to the Xiao family. Then, he’s just waiting for you to die. If you die, the Xiao Conglomerate will be mine. I’m so stupid that if they coax me a little, I might just end up handing your company over.”

As she spoke, Qi Yin laughed self-deprecatingly. ”He really is laughable. How could a massive conglomerate change hands just because of an engagement?”

”Xiao Sinian, although I only know how to play on computers and trade stocks, making me seem like I’m not doing proper work, I really don’t want my marriage to be a calculation or a transaction. Besides, you don’t look like a love-struck fool either, so how could you possibly give the Xiao Conglomerate to me?”

Only Qi Mingyuan would think that; his brain seems to be on a pig’s head.

Perhaps due to the butterfly effect of her rebirth, she had actually crossed paths with Xiao Sinian, who hadn’t appeared in her previous life.

Although his words were sometimes a little cheesy, well, a 2D character can be forgiven.

A slender, white hand rested on Xiao Sinian. Qi Yin’s lips curled slightly, looking incredibly radiant.

”Besides, I don’t want you to think that a child raised by my grandmother is an idiot who only knows how to cling to power and influence.”

Her words made Xiao Sinian think of the formidable and infinitely glorious Old Madam Lu, as well as the little snot-nosed kid who was always behind her.

”The Xiao Conglomerate, I sold it for 200 billion. If you want it, it’s not impossible!”

Xiao Sinian’s tone was flat; anyone who didn’t know better would think he was talking about what to have for lunch.

But this bombshell of his shocked Qi Yin so much that she waved her hands repeatedly.

”No, no, no, I have enough money. Besides, in a few days, money won’t be worth anything, so it’s useless for me to have it.”

However, she seemed to have overlooked some key information. Once she realized it, she stared at Xiao Sinian as if she were looking at a ghost.

”What? You said you sold the Xiao Conglomerate?”

Then, what about the things she bought?

Her weapons. Her food. And her medicine!

It wasn’t that there was no other way to get them, but the quantity and speed couldn’t possibly keep up with Xiao Sinian’s capabilities.

Seeing her annoyed expression, how could Xiao Sinian not know what she was thinking? He helplessly reached out and tapped her head lightly.

”What are you thinking about? Don’t worry, I sold the company, but the forces behind the company are a different matter.”

The implication was that none of the things she wanted would be missing.

Qi Yin breathed a sigh of relief and quickly patted her chest.

”That’s good, that’s good, otherwise it would really be over. But come to think of it, why did you sell the company?”

Actually, she already had a rough guess in her mind, but she still wasn’t sure if Xiao Sinian would believe her outrageous claims about the Apocalypse.

However, the other party gave her a definitive answer.

”It’s exactly what you think, but there are some other reasons as well.”

As he spoke, Xiao Sinian stared at the clouds drifting rapidly past the window, silent for a moment.

”There are several underground experimental organizations in Sakura Country that have been frequently clearing out test subjects lately, and a small part of their military has also begun to relocate. This doesn’t make sense.”

”Moreover, satellites have captured images of the test subjects they discarded, and they are somewhat strange.”

Sakura Country? Qi Yin tried hard to recall, but she couldn’t find any information about Sakura Country from her previous life.

She grabbed Xiao Sinian’s arm in excitement, not noticing that the distance between them was very, very close.

”Are their test subjects animals? In what way are they strange?”

Xiao Sinian turned his head to meet her curious eyes. Ignoring the tingling sensation in his arm, his gaze was serious.

”They are animals, but they are animals that can still move after death, only their limbs seem uncoordinated.”

Qi Yin was shocked inside. Can still move after death? Uncoordinated limbs? If that’s not a zombie animal, what is?

However, there are still about twenty days until the Apocalypse arrives. Could it be that the spread of the zombie virus didn’t start with that blood rain? But was it premeditated long ago?

”Then, what will you do later?”

She couldn’t help but worry about Xiao Sinian now. With his legs like that, if the Apocalypse really came, he could only find a safe place to hide.

”Worrying about me? You have so many supplies; I’ll give you the money, and you’ll take care of the rest of my life, how about that?”

A warmth radiated from the knuckles covering Qi Yin’s hand; she just felt that Xiao Sinian’s eyes were smiling.

”Shut up.”

This guy is being unserious again. She worried for nothing; he has plenty of ways to handle things.

In the midst of their bantering, neither of them noticed that the distance between them was closing bit by bit.

Five hours later, the roar of the helicopter sounded over the island, kicking up a sky full of dust.

At the entrance of the basement of the villa in the center of the island.

”I have some other things to attend to; take your time looking around.” After saying this, Xiao Sinian beckoned the bodyguards to leave.

Qi Yin knew that he was leaving her space; he had a sense of boundaries, and she liked that.

She entered the password, and the basement door opened in response.

She saw a dazzling array of all kinds of medicines and medical equipment, which shocked her visual senses.

In the Apocalypse, a small wound infection or a common cold or fever could easily take a person’s life.

And antibiotics, painkillers, and disinfectant supplies—items that usually seem very common—would be more precious than gold after the collapse of order.

Now, the range and quantity of these medicines and medical equipment she had prepared were absolutely enough to equip a dozen large hospitals. It could definitely be called a small medical kingdom in the Apocalypse.

Amoxicillin, cephalosporin, levofloxacin, and various other types of antibiotics—whether tablets, capsules, or injections—were all stockpiled in large quantities and stored into the space.

”Wow, Master is amazing! The space has leveled up again, rewarding you with a plot of fertile land!”
