Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

The next day.

The first rays of morning sunlight slipped through a gap in the curtains and landed squarely on Asher’s face.

Asher slowly opened his eyes—

And immediately felt an unprecedented heaviness.

Not metaphorically.

He was literally being crushed.

Misty was asleep on his left, her face buried against his shoulder. One arm was wrapped around his neck, while one leg was draped across his waist.

Cynthia was asleep on his right, her forehead resting against his shoulder, one hand tightly gripping the front of his pajamas.

Elesa was sprawled directly across his chest, the faintest smile still lingering at the corner of her lips.

Asher attempted to extract himself from the triple encirclement.

The moment he moved his right shoulder, Cynthia instinctively tightened her grip on his pajamas.

He tried shifting his left leg—

Misty immediately pressed down harder with hers.

Finally, he attempted to roll Elesa off his chest.

Elesa let out an extremely displeased whimper in her sleep, wriggled upward instead, and buried her face against his neck.

Well.

Every single one of them was doing it on pure reflex.

Asher could only give up struggling.

During his previous cycles, sleeping while being hugged by his wife had been perfectly normal.

Misty liked wrapping her arms around his neck.

Cynthia liked clutching his clothes.

Elesa liked sleeping on top of him.

Individually, none of those habits had ever been a problem.

The problem was—

He had more than one wife now!

At that moment, Asher was completely locked in place by three bodies. Even turning over had become an impossible luxury.

There was no helping it.

This was simply the price of living like an emperor!

[VIP Chat Group]

[Steven]: Good morning, everyone! Another beautiful day!

[Wallace]: Steven, if you have that much free time, could you hurry back and do some actual work?

[Steven]: Nothing major has happened in the League lately. Besides, considering my relationship with Brother Asher, doesn’t supporting him count as making an enormous contribution to the League?

[Wallace]: Technically, yes. But because of Asher, the workload for the League’s data-analysis department has increased considerably these past few days. Could you at least come back and shoulder some of it?

[Lance]: He’s right. We not only have to analyze the abilities Asher has displayed across the parallel worlds, but also determine what potential impact those abilities could have on our own world. I’ve been working overtime for several days straight.

[Bruno]: So what’s the conclusion?

[Lance]: There isn’t one. Every time we reach a conclusion, the next episode reveals something new and forces us to redo the entire analysis.

[Professor Birch]: Asher’s very existence is a major challenge to the current system of Pokémon research. Ancient potions, Aura resonance, spacetime power, the DNA Splicers—every time one of these concepts appears, researchers like us have to revise our papers overnight.

[Bill]: With my limited understanding, Asher’s abilities have long since exceeded the range of what we can reasonably analyze. Instead of obsessing over exactly how powerful he is, we might be better off researching ways to cooperate with him. He exists in our world now, and he seems fairly easy to talk to.

[Professor Sycamore]: Bill has a point. I’ve recently been thinking that if we could invite Mr. Asher to Kalos for an academic exchange, our research into Mega Evolution might achieve a major breakthrough.

[Lorelei]: I don’t mean to dampen the Professors’ enthusiasm, but Asher probably won’t go. He directly rejected even the League’s invitation, after all.

[Professor Rowan]: That truly is unfortunate.

In the real world.

Asher was having breakfast with his three wives.

”Darling, look.”

Misty rested her chin on one hand, a faintly teasing smile on her face.

”Everyone in the group is still talking about you.”

Asher expressionlessly took a sip of coffee.

”They can talk all they want. We’re not short on money, so there is absolutely no chance I’m going out and getting a job.”

Cynthia put down her fork and dabbed the corner of her mouth with a napkin, curiosity entering her voice.

”Speaking of that, there’s actually something I’ve always wanted to ask. In my memories, you were always a very famous Trainer. But in this world, the League can’t even find a proper file on you.”

”Isn’t that a little strange?”

”Exactly.”

Elesa put down her coffee and leaned closer as well.

”In my memories, you also became famous while you were still young. But before all of this happened, forget being famous—it seemed like hardly anyone even knew who you were.”

Misty put down her toast and tilted her head toward Asher.

”Darling, you haven’t been deliberately hiding something from us, have you?”

Three pairs of eyes stared at him simultaneously.

Outwardly, Asher remained completely composed.

Internally, his mind was already racing.

How am I supposed to explain this? Was I really expected to admit that I was a transmigrator bound to a reincarnation system? ...Yeah, probably best not to.

”Well...”

Asher casually waved one hand.

”You all know that the version of me in this world really hates troublesome things.”

Misty folded her arms, the corner of her mouth rising slightly.

”That excuse is fairly convincing.”

”Continue.”

”Of course, there’s another, much more important reason.”

Asher set down his coffee and swept his gaze across the faces of his three wives.

”The versions of me in those parallel worlds worked so hard because of all of you.”

”Because of us?”

Cynthia tilted her head.

”Exactly.”

Asher nodded with complete seriousness.

”Judging from the memories I received, it was always after meeting you that I began working hard so I could become someone worthy of standing beside you.”

The three women exchanged glances.

The explanation did sound somewhat reasonable.

But...

Were the three of them really that charming?

Misty took a deep breath, turned back toward Asher, and poked him in the chest with one finger.

”Fine. I’ll admit that what you said makes sense. But keeping a low profile is one thing. You’re not allowed to hide anything else from us. Got it?”

”Don’t worry, darling. I promise.”

Asher took her hand, his expression so sincere that it was completely beyond reproach.

And just like that—

Several more peaceful days passed.

[VIP Chat Group]

[Iris]: These past few days have been so boring! I really want to know who the protagonist of the next episode will be!

[Bianca]: Based on the clues we have so far, the next protagonist should also be Asher’s daughter. The first three episodes all followed that pattern.

[Valerie]: In that case, hasn’t the question basically become—who is the next protagonist’s mother? That’s much more exciting than guessing the protagonist!

[May]: Now that you put it that way, I suddenly have a really bold thought. Don’t tell me that every region is going to—

[Max]: Sis, stop. That thought is way too bold.

[Steven]: Here we go, here we go! Bets are open!

[Steven]: Today, we’re betting on who Brother Asher’s fourth wife will be! I’m the house, and you can wager anything—ore, cash, Pokémon items, even those photographs you really don’t want anyone else finding out about!

[Skyla]: Me, me! I’m betting on Elesa!

[Bonnie]: Huh? But isn’t Miss Elesa already one of them?

[Skyla]: Hehe. That may be true, but nobody ever said one person could only have one daughter!

[Clemont]: What an unusual line of reasoning... but logically, it does make sense.

[Diantha]: Hehe~ In that case, I’m starting to feel like betting on Cynthia.

[Cynthia]: Then I’ll bet on you.

[Diantha]: Seriously, girl? Have we reached the point where we’ll do anything just to hurt each other?

[Cynthia]: There’s already more than one of us anyway. If another really has to be added...

”Then I think it might as well be you.”

...

TL: I’ve never understood why a main character refuses to tell anyone about the system. I can understand keeping it from strangers or even close friends, but from the person you’re married to—the one you’re going to spend the rest of your life with? Yeah, I can’t understand that, ngl. It’s not like they could do anything about him having a system; he’d just be getting the truth and that weight off his chest.
