Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

’My name is Trigger, and as you can see, I’m currently lurking on Sixth Street, watching the video store in front of me.’

-[ Trigger ]-1

(T/N: My beloved! Along with Rain.)

’As for why I’m doing this? It’s because the owner of this video store is my childhood friend, Wise. He’s also the person I like.’

The blonde girl blushed, the light on her eyepatch turning pink.

’But today, after finishing a mission and planning to come back to see how he and Belle were doing... I found many girls coming out of the video store!’

The light on her eyepatch turned red.

’Although I know Wise is gentle, handsome, and exceptionally capable, which makes it easy for him to attract girls’ attention, this is still a bit too much. Those girls included not only PubSec officers, but even a Void Hunter! I can’t understand it. I only stopped spying... ahem, visiting him for a while, so how did things end up like this?’

Just as Trigger was about to go over and demand an explanation, she suddenly noticed Soldier 11 approaching.

’Wait... Soldier 11?’

Hidden nearby, Trigger watched as Soldier 11 arrived at the entrance of the video store and gently knocked on the door.

Then, as if sensing something, Soldier 11 suddenly turned her head.

”Strange... was that just my imagination?”

Before Soldier 11 could think any further, Wise had already opened the door.

”Soldier 11? Why are you here?”

Wise sounded surprised and couldn’t help marveling at her timing. If she had arrived any earlier, things would have become troublesome.

”Hmm. Today is a holiday.”

Soldier 11 paused slightly before narrowing her eyes.

”Also, speaking of which, it seems someone is watching us from behind me.”

”What?”

Wise instinctively wanted to look over, but Soldier 11 suddenly cupped his face with both hands, forcing him to look directly at her.

”Don’t look over there. I can feel their gaze. It’s strange. They don’t feel like an enemy, but not quite like an ally either.”

Her tone carried a rare hint of uncertainty. Before she could continue, however, Wise seemed to realize something.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

”I think I know who it is.”

After quietly saying something to Soldier 11, he walked straight toward Trigger’s hiding spot.

”Charon, it really is you. Why didn’t you come say hello after arriving?”

Since she had already been discovered, Trigger stopped hiding, though surprise was still evident on her face.

”How did you know I was here?”

”Hmm, even I didn’t notice anything. Wise’s reconnaissance methods are impressive,” Soldier 11 commented as she followed behind him.

Wise simply waved a hand and smiled gently at Trigger.

”Honestly, I’m not completely sure either. I just had a feeling it was you.”

”You thought of me first?” Trigger blinked before lowering her head slightly. ”Hmm... thank you.”

The light on her eyepatch turned pink again, making her shy expression even more obvious.

”Uh, as long as you’re happy.”

Wise glanced at Trigger’s favorability rating of 95 and could only say that this reaction wasn’t surprising at all.

[Ding! New favorability target detected.]

[Name: Charon (Codename: Trigger)]1

[Gender: Female]

[Charm: 95]

[Unique Traits: Sensual beauty who conceals her eyes.]

[Hobbies: Spying on the Host.]

[Current Status: Shy]

[Current Favorability toward Host: 95]

[Evaluation: Due to her loss of sight, her other senses have become more acute. Perhaps there’s a unique charm to a girl wearing an eyepatch?]

[Inner Thoughts: What does Wise think of me? It seems I still have a chance...]

Soon, under Wise’s invitation, Trigger entered the video store as well. The four of them sat together on the sofa.

Soldier 11 deliberately chose the seat beside Wise, while Trigger naturally sat on his other side.

Seeing this, Belle said nothing and quietly took a seat nearby.

”Oh, right.”

Soldier 11 looked toward Trigger.

”I heard Wise call you Charon earlier. Did the two of you know each other before this?”

Trigger was the first to answer. She began telling the story of how she and Wise had met in the past.

As she spoke, her mood visibly improved, and the light on her eyepatch gradually shifted to a light yellow glow.

”I see,” Soldier 11 said, nodding after hearing everything. ”So you and Wise were already friends.”

”Hmm, but it seems a lot has happened while I’ve been away, Wise.”

Trigger turned toward him again. Although her expression remained subtle, the faint resentment in her voice still made Wise feel a little guilty.

Unfortunately, Soldier 11 failed to notice any of it.

”Indeed. A lot has happened.”

Her calm response carried an oddly meaningful undertone.

Most people probably wouldn’t have noticed it, but Trigger, as her comrade, immediately sensed something unusual.

At first, she had assumed the two merely knew each other through missions.

But now...

”May I ask what kind of relationship you and Wise currently have, Soldier 11?”

Trigger tried to sound calm, but the tension in her voice was obvious.

Wise immediately wanted to explain, but Soldier 11 simply answered honestly without overthinking it.

”We are already lovers.”

”L-Lovers?! Then...”

Trigger froze.

’So all those girls earlier weren’t misunderstandings after all? Has Wise actually become a playboy now?’ She desperately hoped it was only the latter.

Otherwise... She could only apologize to Soldier 11 in advance.

”Hmm?” Soldier 11 tilted her head slightly. ”Trigger, is something wrong?”

”No. Why do you ask?”

”Because the light on your eyepatch just turned a very complicated shade of purple.”

The moment Soldier 11 pointed it out, Trigger reflexively covered her eyepatch with one hand.

Unfortunately, it was already too late.

”...I understand.”

Trigger slowly nodded before turning toward Wise once more.

Although she said nothing else, Wise already understood what she meant.

At that moment, Trigger had already decided that she would demand a proper explanation from Wise later.

She understood Soldier 11’s personality very well.

Since Soldier 11 had openly acknowledged their relationship, it meant she was completely serious about it. Once she made up her mind, she would never change it easily.

More importantly, Soldier 11 hated traitors.

If Wise had truly done something terrible...

She might become genuinely furious. And if Soldier 11 got angry, there was no telling what she might do to Wise.

After a brief silence, Trigger suddenly spoke again.

”I’m free today, Wise. Want to go out and have some fun together?”

Wise naturally agreed. After all, Trigger was his childhood friend, and Soldier 11 would definitely follow along as well.

As for Belle...

There was no need to even mention it. She certainly wasn’t going to let herself be left behind.
