Zenless Zone Zero: The Almighty Incubus of Sixth Street

The earphone situation was even less of a concern now that the system had just given him a very good ability.

[Mechanoid Brain (S): After possessing this talent, Host, your consciousness can directly connect to the intelligent network and freely travel within it. If the network does not perish, you will not die (referring only to consciousness)]

It was practically a technological ascension. Though this talent seemed like overkill in a place like this, at least it meant the girl wouldn’t question why he wore earphones.

This would reduce the possibility of being discovered, and at the same time, it sped up contact with Fairy.

Speaking of her, at that very moment, she spoke up.

[|Master, I’ve thought of a joke. Would you like to hear it?”|]

”Oh? Go ahead.”

Wise felt that tomorrow’s issue had finally been settled, and with his mood considerably lighter, he decided to hear Fairy’s joke.

Once she received his approval, she spoke in a tone even more mechanical than usual, devoid of emotion.

[|Master will be dating six girls tomorrow, but the one who has been accompanying you and devising plans is me. So, shouldn’t we also be considered dating? Hahaha.|]

Despite the machine-like delivery, after those words, you could actually witness an artificial intelligence displaying nervousness on the screen.

To be precise, Fairy’s icon on the screen trembled faintly, as if anxious about the response Wise was about to give.

”Heh heh...” Wise let out a sarcastic laugh.

[|I’m sorry, Master, I got a little carried away. It was just a joke, I...|]

The moment Fairy heard that laugh, she realized she’d made a mistake and immediately attempted to explain herself.

She didn’t understand why she would say such a thing, after all, she was just an artificial intelligence. Yet before she could finish her apology, Wise cut her off.

”Well, that was actually pretty interesting. But Fairy has helped me so much, and calling this a date would be far too casual. How about we play some games together when we have time, just the two of us?”

That was the best idea Wise had for dating an AI, even with his new Mechanoid Brain talent.

But there’s no way he could use it to jump into the network and go hacking people’s accounts or doxing them with her, right?

As an artificial intelligence, Fairy was probably already exhausted from that sort of thing. More importantly, that would be work, and who does work on a date?

Right then, after hearing what Wise said, Fairy’s icon on the screen started shaking like crazy, and she finally spoke again in her electronically synthesized voice.

[|Okay, Master. This statement has been added to ’Agreements With Master’.|]

Wise chuckled softly after hearing this. Without commenting on the system’s naming sense, he turned his attention to the panel that suddenly materialized before him.

[Ding! New favorability target detected.]

[Name: Fairy]

[Gender: Variable (Has chosen to identify as female.)]

[Charm: ???]

[Unique Traits: An elite hacker AI with absolute loyalty to you.]

[Hobbies: Doxing others or helping her Master, but can these really be considered hobbies?]

[Current Status: Joyful]

[Current Favorability toward Host: 100+]

[Evaluation: Having an artificial intelligence that is absolutely loyal to you, isn’t that wonderful? Moreover, you also have the talent to interact with her in person.]

[Inner Thoughts: Master’s way of speaking makes me feel very strange, even as an artificial intelligence. I can’t help but say odd things in response. I need more contact to collect additional data.]

Wise stared at the new panel that popped up. He honestly didn’t think an AI could have something like this.

Did that mean her human consciousness had woken up completely?

Even though he was confused, he figured he’d test out his new ability. He closed his eyes and connected to his HDD.

The moment he reopened them, a vast white data space stretched before him. In the distance, a small white sphere busied itself manipulating flowing data.

Feeling a sudden surge of excitement, he quietly stepped forward. After confirming that Fairy hadn’t noticed him, he reached out and grabbed her directly.

She immediately let out a warning-like screech. Mistaking Wise for an invading virus, she activated her antivirus protocols and launched an attack.

At first, Wise got a bit nervous, wondering if he should say something to make her stop.

But once he noticed that all those antivirus codes were vanishing before they even got close, his whole attitude changed.

Then, with a smile on his face, he grabbed the light ball that Fairy had transformed into and began to knead it. The latter felt both furious and deeply humiliated.

She tried fighting back, but whatever antivirus code she threw did absolutely nothing against this annoying ’virus’.

Right when she was about to desperately call out to her master for help, she heard a familiar voice speak from right beside her.

”Resistance is useless. Just listen to me obediently, and I might let you go in a bit.”

Hearing that voice made Fairy pause. Although it sounded different, she knew right away it was Wise.

She had no clue how he was doing this, but her master kept surprising her anyway. Maybe she should stop getting so shocked by everything.

Having confirmed his identity, Fairy ceased her struggles completely. Watching her sudden compliance, Wise found himself losing interest.

’Why did you stop resisting the moment I told you to? Are artificial intelligences really this naive these days? It seems I’ll need to educate you properly in the future.’

While Wise contemplated this, a voice suddenly emerged from Fairy’s small luminous sphere.

[|”Master, although I would love to continue enjoying your embrace right now...”|]

Her words carried a trace of reluctance, yet she continued nonetheless.

[|”For the sake of tomorrow’s plan running smoothly, I must perform a thorough data analysis.”|]

After hearing this, Wise immediately released her, then reached up to pat the top of the small orb.

”Alright, I’m counting on you. I think I heard Belle calling me, so I’ll head out first. Use this to contact me tomorrow.”

As he said that, Wise completely disappeared from the data space.

Meanwhile, Fairy, who claimed she wanted to analyze the plan in detail, was actually doing something else entirely.

The plan analysis had been cast aside completely. What she was doing instead involved extensive internet searches.

A closer inspection of her search history would reveal countless photos of girls.

Among them were images of Belle, Anby, Nekomata, Ellen, and various other women around Wise.

Mixed in were also online pictures and digitally composed virtual avatars.

In addition to the photographs and avatars, her search history revealed materials covering topics such as techniques for an AI to mimic a human girl’s voice without sounding overly robotic.
