I'm About to Die, Can't I Buff My Junior Sister's Strength?

211: Ancestor...actually, I have powerful backers.”In the past, our Xiao Family was a powerful ancient clan of the Eastern Profound Domain, traceable back to the ancient era. At that time, we had dozens of Elders at the Void Return Peak, stronger than the current Fentian Holy Land. If not for that great war fifty thousand years ago, where all our elites were killed in battle and the severely wounded were left in the Lower Realm, allowing the Xu Family of Lingwu City to find opportunities to ostracize us everywhere, how could we have ended up living under someone else’s roof like this...” Xiao Xuan said, a look of reminiscence in his eyes, as if he were seeing the Xiao Family in its prime.

In the past, the Xiao Family was the undisputed hegemon of Lingwu City and a capable assistant under the Shen Family. They followed the Shen Family into the Lower Realm, and very few returned to the Upper Realm. Xiao Xuan was not yet born at that time; he only heard this from his grandfather.

”The Shen Family...” A trace of emotion appeared on Xiao Qinger’s originally calm face.

”Before the Empress fell into slumber, she said that if I ever encountered a crisis again, I could seek help from the Shen Family. Senior Brother comes from the Shen Family...”

”Senior Brother is the Young Clan Master Shen...”

This was the last sentence the Empress said before protecting Xiao Qinger and falling into slumber. When she heard it at the time, Xiao Qinger was completely stunned.

Xiao Qinger murmured in her heart, thinking of a figure in peerless white robes, and could not help but clench her hands.

So Senior Brother’s background is this immense!

During this time in the Fentian Holy Land, she had heard the name ’Shen Family’ hundreds of times, especially with the recent news that the Young Clan Master Shen, who had disappeared for six years, had returned. Now, everyone in Fentian Capital was talking about the Shen Family.

She had thought Senior Brother’s status was high, coming from the Upper Realm, but she had not expected it to be this high. Especially now, after staying in the Fentian Holy Land for so long, she understood the terror of the Shen Family even more. Even the Holy Lord, whom everyone in Fentian Capital looked up to, showed a humble expression when mentioning the Shen Family. They had even specifically organized the Pill Refining Convention for the coming-of-age ceremony of that returned Young Clan Master, just to find a Medicinal Pill to congratulate Young Clan Master Shen...

But she wanted to go to the Shen Family to see for herself. However, Fentian Capital was too far from the Eastern Profound City where the Shen Family resided. With her strength at the Early Nascent Soul Stage, she didn’t know how many years it would take to cross several major cities. Even if she arrived, she might not necessarily be able to see the Shen Family members. Therefore, the only way was to win the Pill Refining Convention...

After listening to Xiao Xuan’s words.

”So that’s how it is...”

At this moment, Xiao Qinger suddenly realized. She finally understood why her lineage had run off to the Lower Realm; it was because they hadn’t returned after the great war all those years ago.

”But Old Ancestor, since the Xiao Family fought for the Human Race, did they not care about us afterwards?” Xiao Qinger asked.

”Sigh~” Xiao Xuan sighed helplessly. ”How could they not care? We followed the Ancient Desolate Shen Family. The Shen Family has always been clear about rewards and punishments. Even though my Xiao Family had declined, the position of hegemon in Lingwu City never changed, and they even provided us with much help. It’s just that the Xu Family was insidious. Relying on the backing of the Wang Family from the Northern Domain, they plotted against my Xiao Family time and again. The already declining Xiao Family eventually withdrew from Lingwu City over time...”

When mentioning the Xu Family, a chill appeared on Xiao Xuan.

”The Xu Family plotted against our Xiao Family, why not expose them?” Xiao Qinger asked, very puzzled.

Xiao Xuan shook his head and said, ”Qinger, if there were evidence, would it even need to be said? Plus, the Shen Family was also in a chaotic mess at that time...”

”The Shen Family was also in chaos?” Xiao Qinger was stunned, feeling it was inconceivable.

”This involves a secret from fifty thousand years ago. According to my grandfather, it seems to be related to the Second Ancestor of the Shen Family, but I don’t know the specifics...” Xiao Xuan replied with a frown, a look of contemplation in his eyes.

In fact, there were rumors at the time, but he didn’t think they were true. After all, it was too shocking. The Second Ancestor of the Shen Family had become possessed and slaughtered ten billion living beings of the Human Race in the Lower Realm. Who would dare to believe such a thing?

The next second.

Xiao Xuan put on a serious expression again and said, ”Qinger, I am telling you this because I want you to know that Old Ancestor spent so much effort to bring you back, just hoping that one day, you can restore the glory of my Xiao Family. Lingwu City is the ancestral land of my Xiao Family; how can we allow the petty Xu Family to occupy it?”

”And your talent is the best Old Ancestor has ever seen. You possess a Divine Body and have also mastered Exotic Fire. If you grow up, you will definitely be able to take back everything that belongs to my Xiao Family!”

”But Qinger, you are too weak right now, and Old Ancestor does not have much time left. I cannot protect you for too long. Only if you become a disciple under the Pill Tower Master can Old Ancestor leave in peace...”

”Qinger, do you understand!”

Xiao Xuan stared intently at Xiao Qinger, his face full of anticipation. In fact, he had already made a decision in his heart. As long as Xiao Qinger had someone to rely on, he would immediately go to reason with the Fentian Holy Lord. Even if he had to risk his old life, he would seek justice for Xiao Qinger.

That Fentian Saintess had bullied his descendant so much. If he hadn’t arrived in time, Xiao Qinger’s situation would likely be more than just being injured!

Being so ruthless to a fellow Sect member, and she was only confined for three days?

Did they really think he was a paper tiger?

This was bullying people too far!

He didn’t dare to completely tear off the mask and break ties because he was worried that after he was gone, Xiao Qinger would suffer even more terrible retaliation.

”Old Ancestor... actually, I have a backer.” Xiao Qinger frowned, hesitating whether to say it or not. She had never told anyone the news that her Senior Brother was the Young Clan Master Shen.

She felt she owed Senior Brother too much and couldn’t rely on him for everything. Even after arriving in the Upper Realm, she would have to rely on his name to intimidate others. Furthermore, she felt that Senior Brother certainly hoped she could grow up on her own.

”A backer?”

”Is it that so-called Sect of yours in the Lower Realm?”

”Qinger, don’t be foolish. The Sect Master of the Heavenly Sword Sect can’t even withstand an outer Elder of the Fentian Holy Land; how can he protect your Dao?”

Xiao Xuan shook his head. He naturally knew what the backer in Xiao Qinger’s mouth was. Although he sincerely admired Xiao Qinger’s loyalty, the situation was different; the Heavenly Sword Sect was simply too weak.

Just at this moment.

Xiao Xuan suddenly heard a sound transmission and revealed a cold expression, then stood up immediately.

”Qinger, think about it carefully. Tomorrow, after the Pill Refining Convention ends, the Elder from the Pill Hall who can contact the Pill Tower Master will leave. This is the last bit of time...”

”As long as you have thought it through, Old Ancestor will not force you...”

After speaking, Xiao Xuan’s figure disappeared from where he stood.

Inside the room.

Only Xiao Qinger remained. A flash of brilliance crossed her eyes, and she revealed a firm and unswerving expression.

According to what the Empress said, Senior Brother’s status in the Shen Family is very, very high. Even if that Young Clan Master is not Senior Brother, he must know Senior Brother. As long as she sees him, Senior Brother will definitely come to find her after he arrives in the Upper Realm.

She didn’t think about having the Shen Family solve her current predicament; she just thought that after Shen Nian arrived in the Upper Realm, it would be good if he could know the news that she was still safe.

”I must win tomorrow’s Pill Refining Convention!” Xiao Qinger clenched her fists, then closed her eyes and began to earnestly recall the Alchemy techniques the Empress had taught her.

Meanwhile.

Inside the Fentian Holy Hall.

”Xiao Xuan, you have sat in the position of Grand Elder for so long; it is time for you to move aside...” An old man with crane-like hair and a youthful face, wearing a purple robe, with sparkling spiritual light in his eyes, spoke.

Xiao Xuan said with a cold expression, ”Is this the Holy Lord’s intention?”

”Sigh, Xiao Xuan, I know you are dissatisfied. Although you were injured because of the Holy Land, the Holy Land has also supported you for so many years and even allowed your descendant to enter the ancestral land for baptism. This favor has been repaid enough, right?” Another Grand Elder beside the main hall spoke.

”I only want to ask if this is the Holy Lord’s intention!” Xiao Xuan’s voice was hoarse, his heart dead.

After a long while.

”It is this seat’s intention.” A magnificent voice resounded through the main hall, but the owner of the voice was not seen.

”Xiao Xuan, you also know that Young Clan Master Shen is returning to hold a coming-of-age ceremony. The three great Holy Lands of the Eastern Profound Domain must all go to observe the ceremony. At that time, it will be the moment to display the strength of each Holy Land. The Grand Elder is the foundation of my Fentian Holy Land, and your current Realm is not quite suitable. If you don’t mind, the Fentian back mountain is still missing an Executive Elder...”

”No need!”

”I, Xiao Xuan, am just a dying person; how could I be worthy of being an Executive Elder of the Fentian Holy Land!” Xiao Xuan coldly refused.

”You... sigh, forget it. Think whatever you want. If you insist on leaving the Holy Land, remember to take your two descendants with you. The temple of my Fentian Holy Land is too small and cannot accommodate a Divine Body that repeatedly refuses to join the Sect and take a master...”

Hearing this, Xiao Xuan did not speak but turned and left, very resolutely. His figure appeared somewhat desolate in the eyes of everyone.

”Sigh, actually there was no need for this... If her descendant had just apologized properly to the Saintess, it would have been fine...” A Grand Elder sighed softly.

The purple-robed Grand Elder gave a contemptuous smile and said, ”Heh, who does he think he can hide his little thoughts from? Thinking of using the Pill Pagoda to pressure the Holy Lord, this ending was destined long ago...”

”Speaking of which, his descendant is really strange. Not joining the Fentian Holy Land is one thing, but even rejecting the Pill Pagoda... Actually, the ending wouldn’t have been like this...”

”Just a frog in a well; she will regret it later...”

”Alright, let’s discuss the matters for tomorrow’s Pill Refining Convention...”
