Martial God Asura

Chapter 6541: The Number One Expert Under Heavenly God?

“Chu Feng didn’t come to the Netherworld Sect in search of vengeance, and he doesn’t seek to destroy the sacred item, either. There’s just someone he wishes to rescue among the natural oddities captured.”

An old man with snowy hair appeared in the formation realm. He wore the Netherworld Sect’s robe, but he exuded an ethereal air as if he were an immortal unfazed by secular affairs. He was a rank five Heavenly God level cultivator.

He was Dongfang Hansong, the leader of the conservative faction.

Dongfang Hansong had been here all along, just that he had quietly observed the situation as a spectator instead of joining the conversation.

But now, he looked at Baili Xukong and said, “Look at what you have done, Baili Xukong. You insisted on capturing those natural oddities to use them as a medium for cultivation. That was what drew Chu Feng here.”

Baili Xukong sneered in response, “We don’t know for sure whether Chu Feng’s goal is to rescue a friend, but just his audacious attempt to control our sacred item makes him deserving of death.”

“Chu Feng deserves death, but that doesn’t change the fact that your new faction is what sparked this mess. If anything happens to the sacred item, your new faction bears as much responsibility as Chu Feng,” Dongfang Hansong said.

“No matter what happens, I, Baili Xukong, will take responsibility for this matter, but what’s important right now is to eliminate that vermin, Chu Feng. Why don’t you spend your energy coming up with ways to deal with Chu Feng instead of questioning me?”

In the meantime, Baili Xukong had already ordered the Netherworld Sect’s Heavenly Gods to return to the sacred item to kill Chu Feng.

Dongfang Hansong didn’t say anything more. He had only spoken up right now to tarnish Baili Xukong’s reputation in front of the neutral faction so that the neutral faction would side with his conservative faction.

As for eliminating Chu Feng...

He had no idea how to do so, but even if he thought of something, he wouldn’t voice it aloud. This was the ideal chance to eliminate the new faction. The more havoc Chu Feng caused, the worse the new faction’s position would be.

There was no reason for him to stop Chu Feng.

...

In the formation realm, Baili Zilin left the prison, but instead of returning to the mountain, he made his way to a remote area.

He was breathing raggedly, and his face was distorted in frenzy.

“What came over me earlier? Why did I speak up for Feng Ling? Didn’t I wish for her death? Does this mean that I subconsciously fear Chu Feng’s vengeance? No, that can’t be possible. How can I, Baili Zilin, be so cowardly? How could I possibly fear that Chu Feng? What’s wrong with me?”

Baili Zilin refuted his conjecture, but at the same time, he couldn’t make sense of why he had spoken up for Feng Ling earlier.

Just then, he felt a strong aura heading in his direction. He raised his head, only to widen his eyes in disbelief.

The lightning-clad invader was approaching him at an extremely fast speed, but he still managed to get a clear look at the other party’s face.

“Chu Feng?”

Shock and incomprehension gripped Baili Zilin. It didn’t make sense for Chu Feng to be here. The top experts of the Netherworld Sects were all protecting this area. Even his father and the neutral faction’s powerhouses were here.

Despite his confusion, he still drew his God Armament and raised his cultivation from rank seven to rank nine True God level, with heaven-defying battle power of a single rank.

That happened to match Chu Feng’s current cultivation level.

Chu Feng was at rank six True God level, but after unleashing the Lightning Mark, Lightning Armor, Lightning Wings, and Lightning Aura, his cultivation was currently also at rank nine True God level, with heaven-defying battle power of a single rank.

“Is this heaven’s will? You appeared before me right after I came out of closed-door training.”

Baili Zilin hurriedly composed himself. He knew that Chu Feng had long noticed him and was intentionally heading his way. A fight was inevitable.

“Very well. Today, I shall spill your blood to prove to the world that I, Baili Zilin, am the number one expert under the Heavenly Gods!”

As he clenched his fists, two dark red God Armament sabers appeared in his grasp. He channeled his vast reserves of martial power into the two sabers, causing the surrounding space to distort.

“Rank three God Taboo, Demon Blood Inferno Slash!”

Baili Zilin swung both sabers simultaneously, unleashing a red aura that devoured the sky. His attack covered such a vast expanse that it resembled a massive blood cloud. One could even smell a horrendous blood stench coming from it.

He had spent many years learning this move, and he had only recently mastered it. He was extremely confident in it, for this attack was not only highly destructive but also absurdly fast.

Given their current distance, Chu Feng would surely die.

Little did he know that Chu Feng could have easily dodged this attack with Divine Flitting, though he chose not to do so. Instead, he whipped out the Lightning Flame Sword.

“He isn’t channeling his martial power. Is he planning to withstand my rank three God Taboo without using martial skills?” Baili Zilin was confused.

This should have been good news to Baili Zilin, but he felt so displeased that he bellowed, “Chu Feng, are you underestimating my martial skill now? How dare you underestimate me?!”

While he was shouting, Chu Feng had already swung his Lightning Flame Sword.

Baili Zilin froze up.

With just a casual slash, Chu Feng had split open the God Taboo Martial Skill that he had spent many years mastering.

“Baili Zilin, I don’t underestimate your martial skill, but I do have a low opinion of you. Your true cultivation might have reached rank seven True God level, but your fighting prowess remains so weak. Someone who grew hastily by stacking cultivation resources can’t possibly match me.”

While Chu Feng was speaking, he arrived before Baili Zilin and swung his blade down on him.

By the time Baili Zilin snapped out of his daze, it was already too late to dodge Chu Feng’s attack. So, he raised his two God Armament sabers to withstand the attack.

What happened next made him widen his eyes in disbelief.

Chu Feng’s Lightning Flame Sword sliced through his two ‘True’ character God Armaments as easily as a heated knife slicing through butter.

But before Chu Feng could slice Baili Zilin apart, a powerful surge of spirit power sprang out from the latter’s body and protected him.

“You’re carrying quite a lot of treasures.”

Chu Feng could tell that it was a protective formation generated by a treasure.

Baili Zilin smirked in glee when he saw that Chu Feng was unable to do anything to him. “Hmph! Despite all your words, Chu Feng, you are still unable to hurt me...”

Before he could finish his words, his expression stiffened once more.

Chu Feng opened his palm to reveal two bizarre powers that swiftly enveloped Baili Zilin. They were Protection Bane and Dark Plunder.

Baili Zilin had no idea what was happening, but he could sense the spirit power protecting him being swiftly siphoned away. At the same time, he sensed that Chu Feng had taken something important away from him, though he couldn’t tell what it was.
