Chapter 6501: Joining the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect

“Elder, are you acquainted with the elders of my Hidden Dragon Martial Sect?” Chu Feng asked.

“Of course. We’re from the same world of cultivation.” Shangguan Fengquan suddenly looked melancholic. “Your Hidden Dragon Martial Sect wouldn’t have landed in its current plight if those two were still around. The whole world of cultivation owes your Hidden Dragon Martial Sect.”

Both Chu Feng and Sikong Changsheng looked curious. Shangguan Fengquan clearly knew things that no one else knew.

“The Immemorial Domain of Gods shines the brightest in the Nine Galaxies. All cultivators naturally look forward to it. Cultivators have ventured into the Ninth Galaxy right from the very start, but none returned. That’s how the Ninth Galaxy gained its reputation as the Immemorial Purgatory.

“It may seem like the cultivators of my generation have reached the peak of prosperity, but in truth, we all knew that we had uncovered most remnants, and our resources are on the verge of drying out. Our growth speeds, be it the older ones or the younger ones, have greatly slowed. At this rate, we’ll all begin to decline.

“We knew something had to change, so all powers resumed their exploration of the Ninth Galaxy. We made thorough preparations, but still, no one returned. Even meticulously prepared communication means failed. The Ninth Galaxy felt like an independent space isolated from the rest of the world of cultivation.

“At that point, all powers had decided to give up on the Ninth Galaxy, till something happened.

“A mysterious remnant suddenly appeared. It stirred a huge phenomenon when it surfaced, sending tremors through the world of cultivation. It bears a striking resemblance to the present God’s Era, but there is no record of such a remnant in history.

“All powers saw a glimmer of hope in that. We wondered if there were more resources in the world of cultivation that simply haven’t been uncovered. Activating the remnant proved tough, so we put aside our grudges and joined forces for once.

“We succeeded in activating the remnant, but it turned out that the remnant didn’t contain treasures and fortuitous encounters. No, it contained a sinister power that threatened to destroy the world of cultivation. By activating the remnant, we awakened that dormant power.

“As soon as we realized that something was amiss, we did everything we could to set things right, but that power was so strong that we couldn’t suppress it with our combined prowess. In the end, two experts from the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect used a secret skill that cost them their lives to dispel that power.”

Sikong Changsheng trembled. “Lord Sectmaster, was the crisis back then resolved by the elders of the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect?”

He was young when the crisis happened, but everyone in the world of cultivation could sense the impending threat coming from the remnant. Even he thought that the world of cultivation was on the verge of destruction.

But then, that threat abruptly vanished as if nothing had happened.

Those who participated in the remnant claimed that they had worked together to overcome the power. That was how the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect, the Myriad Dao Sect, the Immortal Sea Fish Clan, the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, and the other powers became heroes.

The Enigma Sect, also the present-day Hidden Dragon Martial Sect, remained under the cover. Not even the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect mentioned its name.

Shangguan Fengquan looked at Chu Feng and continued, “We didn’t withhold the truth to steal the credit. It’s what your two Hidden Dragon Martial Sect’s elders wanted. They didn’t care about what the world thought. They merely wanted to quietly guard the Ancestral Martial Galaxy. They told us not to tell it to others.”

“I trust you, elder.” Chu Feng didn’t think Shangguan Fengquan had any reason to lie. He only felt awe for the two elders from the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect. “Elder, do you know the names of the two elders?”

“They have instructed us to keep mum about the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect, but they did tell us their names before they passed away. They are Ye Wuhen and Song Wuya.”

“Ye Wuhen and Song Wuya.” Chu Feng noted down those names.

“That incident made us realize that while the current world of cultivation may contain more fortuitous encounters, there may also be destructive forces beyond our control. We cannot be content with the status quo, or else it might spell our annihilation.

“Thus, all the top powers then gathered the older generation and younger prodigies to venture into the Ninth Galaxy. Some powers left descendants in the eight galaxies, whereas some went all out and brought their entire clan into the Ninth Galaxy.

“Our Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect opted to bring everyone into the Ninth Galaxy, and from the looks of it now, that was the correct decision to make,” Shangguan Fengquan said.

Chu Feng nodded in agreement.

Had those powers not entered the Ninth Galaxy, they were bound to spiral into decline once powerhouses like Shangguan Fengquan and the others passed away.

“Elder, are there truly many fortuitous encounters in the Ninth Galaxy?” Chu Feng asked.

“Of course.” Shangguan Fengquan nodded.

“Are there Ancient Era’s powers in the Ninth Galaxy?”

“There are, and they are very powerful.”

“How are the powers that had entered the Ninth Galaxy back then faring?”

“Some have been destroyed. Some fell into decline. Some rose through the ranks.”

“The Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect must have risen through the ranks.”

“That goes without saying. I’m the one leading the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect, after all,” Shangguan Fengquan remarked gleefully before her expression turned serious once more. “Chu Feng, are you willing to join our Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect?”

The abrupt change in topic surprised Sikong Changsheng. He looked at Chu Feng nervously.

“I’m willing,” Chu Feng replied.

Sikong Changsheng’s lower jaw fell, for Chu Feng replied without any hesitation as if he had already made up his mind.

Chu Feng harbored goodwill toward the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect right from the start, mainly because they had their roots in the Ancestral Martial Galaxy as well. He cared about his roots and hoped for the prosperity of the Ancestral Martial Galaxy, and the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect was the representative power of the Ancestral Martial Galaxy’s world spiritists.

Furthermore, the two elders he had met from the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect were decent people.

“Very well. You’re a member of our Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect from now on. If you ever require help after entering the Ninth Galaxy, you may take this token and look for anyone from our sect.”

Shangguan Fengquan compressed her formidable spirit power to form a token, and the token floated toward Chu Feng.

Chu Feng took the token and inspected it. Written on its front was ‘Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’. Inscribed on the back were the words ‘Fengquan’s Bestowment’.
