Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 808: Chapter 808: Farewell

In the third meeting room, everyone gradually quieted down.

Bai Xiaosheng, with a smile on his face and a calm complexion, looked at everyone and said, ”All in all, that’s the personnel arrangement. This personnel order, along with my transfer order, will be released together tomorrow morning.”

”Mr. Bai!” ”Mr. Bai!”

Those directors and managers present still couldn’t hide their reluctance to let him go.

The nine months they spent working together was neither long nor short.

Many people had their life trajectories changed because of Bai Xiaosheng’s arrival!

They respected, appreciated, and were grateful to this young General Manager!

”I’m being promoted, not chased away. What is there to be sad about!” Bai Xiaosheng tried to keep the mood light and chuckled, ”Zhongjing Media is my home! I will come back to visit often! Everyone, you must make it better and stronger! This is also your home!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s throat tightened, and he found it hard to continue.

Sometimes, farewells seem easy.

But facing each lively face, each sincere reluctance, parting is always saddening.

”Alright, everyone cheer up a bit! Many of you have been promoted, and that’s a joyous occasion. You must work even harder and not let Mr. Bai down in his expectations of you!” Lin Weiwei spoke up.

”Assistant Lin, please take good care of Mr. Bai!”

”Sister Lin, come back to visit often!”

Many people looked at her with a touch of reluctance in their eyes.

”I will, I will!” Lin Weiwei kept repeating these words, her voice also sounding a little strange.

”Dismissed! At the banquet, let’s drink until we’re satisfied!” Bai Xiaosheng shouted loudly, turned around with a smile, and left first.

If he stayed any longer, he feared he might lose his composure.

Lin Weiwei took a deep look at everyone and followed closely behind, with Lei Ying following last.

The whole room stood up in unison, watching them leave.

Once back in his office, Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but take a few deep breaths and couldn’t stop himself from remarking, ”I never thought that leaving could feel this unbearable!”

Lin Weiwei also silently nodded, deeply moved.

Even Lei Ying seemed a bit silent.

The three of them sat in gloom for a while; then Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying left to attend to other matters.

After a moment of silence, Bai Xiaosheng picked up his phone and made a call to his father, Bai Minghang.

Having spent nine months in Zhongjing and now having to leave, he had to inform his family.

”Son.” At the moment the call connected, Bai Xiaosheng suddenly felt homesick.

It had been a long time since he had been home to visit.

”Dad, I have something to tell you,” Bai Xiaosheng said, suppressing his emotions as he told his father about his transfer from Zhongjing.

While in Zhongjing, no matter how busy he was, he would typically go home every two weeks, but this time, he feared it wouldn’t be as frequent.

On the other end of the phone, Bai Minghang’s kind voice came through, ”Son, you’re still young. It’s the right age for you to venture out; focus on your career. Your mom and I support you!”

”When you have time, come visit your grandmother. I’ll get your mom to cook a couple of extra dishes to celebrate my son’s promotion!”

After talking with his father, Bai Xiaosheng felt much better.

At six in the evening, the film crew’s convoy arrived at the company, and Bai Xiaosheng personally led the staff to warmly welcome them.

Seeing the crew members again, the company staff was also extremely excited, exchanging warm greetings.

Shang Wanwan, Yang Qian’er, and others greeted Bai Xiaosheng, their expressions filled with happy smiles.

”Let’s go, let’s head to the banquet hall and chat there,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

Under his lead, a vast stream of people surged towards the Zhongjing Wanhe Building, a magnificent sight!

The banquet was located at the top-floor banquet hall of the Zhongjing Wanhe Building.

Upon arrival, everyone took their seats under the guidance, and Bai Xiaosheng gave the opening speech.

”Ladies and gentlemen, colleagues and friends, this banquet is held to welcome the return of our film crew. Here, on behalf of the company, I would like to say to everyone—thank you for your hard work!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s words set off thunderous applause.

As the applause died down, Bai Xiaosheng smiled and continued, ”This banquet also has a second meaning...”

Everyone’s eyes were riveted on him.

The expressions of those from the company were noticeably solemn.

Shang Wanwan and others observed this and couldn’t help feeling somewhat perplexed.

”That is to say, this is my farewell dinner!” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile, ”Due to job adjustments, I am no longer the General Manager of Zhongjing Media, but an Affairs Officer for the collective Greater China Region Affairs Department. I have returned this time to make the handover arrangements! After that, I will be departing for Linshen to begin my work there!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s statement was like a thunderclap, leaving people in stunned silence.

”What, Mr. Bai is leaving!” exclaimed Gao Dazhi, leading the film crew colleagues, unable to hide their surprise.

In their eyes, there was a clear sense of reluctance.

Shang Wanwan stood up and gazed at Bai Xiaosheng, then smiled and began to applaud.

”Congratulations, Mr. Bai Xiaosheng!” Shang Wanwan’s voice was filled with sincerity.

Gao Dazhi also stood up, followed by Yang Qian’er, Gao Ya, Zhao Xiaoying, and then all the film crew members, as well as everyone present, they all started clapping in unison.

”Let’s congratulate Mr. Bai on his promotion!” someone shouted out.

All those present echoed the sentiment, ”Let’s congratulate Mr. Bai on his promotion!”

The feelings for Bai Xiaosheng made it hard for everyone to let go, but in fact, this was a joyous occasion, a very joyous occasion!

Shang Wanwan’s initiative brought the celebration back to its rightful cheerful state.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Shang Wanwan, his gaze sweeping over the crowd, and then he bowed deeply to everyone, ”Thank you all!”

Without words, the applause resounded again, double in intensity. All spoken words seemed superfluous, as only the applause truly expressed the sentiment of people’s hearts.

Lin Weiwei stood by, feeling extraordinarily gratified.

”Bai Xiaosheng!”

Just as the applause was fading, suddenly a hysterical scream rang out.

The doors to the hall were violently flung open!

Chen Changqing rushed in like a madman, pointing at Bai Xiaosheng, and yelled with a voice almost splitting in two, ”You, what right do you have to fire me! I am the deputy director of a subsidiary company! You’re not officially an Affairs Officer yet, not yet! Even if you were, you’d have no right to fire me!”

Chen Changqing returned from his ”quest” full of hopes, only to be told upon his arrival at the company that he was no longer the deputy director.

He had been dismissed by Bai Xiaosheng!

Chen Changqing was driven to madness!

His fear, his dread, were all due to authority, due to means, but once he was pushed into a corner, he was no longer afraid.

He would not accept it, he wanted to make a scene, he wanted to protest, he wanted to lodge a complaint with the group!

Now, Chen Changqing came wrapped in raging anger.

Yet he saw the indifference and detachment in Bai Xiaosheng’s eyes, and felt the uniformly cold stares from everyone in the room.

”Chen Changqing, you’re no longer the deputy director, you have no right to be here!”

”This is not the place for you to cause trouble!”

”It was clear when your misdeeds were announced! You were suspected of selling company information while applying for provincial benchmark enterprise status! Don’t think we don’t know!”

”We will jointly report to the group and continue to hold you accountable!”

Angry shouts came one after another, followed by a collective outcry from the whole place.

In such a setting, especially when the respected Mr. Bai was leaving, they would not tolerate this person’s disruption!

Confronted by the anger of everyone present, the anger deep within Chen Changqing’s eyes was quickly overrun and swallowed by fear.

His eyes betraying a hint of fear, Chen Changqing could not help stumbling back.

Bai Xiaosheng raised his hand, and, as if by command, the place quickly quieted down.

He looked at Chen Changqing and said calmly and indifferently, ”I have the authorization to fire you! If you refuse to accept it, let Chen Jiuzheng or Chen Jiutian go to the Greater China Region Headquarters to argue with me! As for you—”

Bai Xiaosheng casually waved his hand as if shooing flies, ”Throw him out!”
