Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3733: Introducing Lady Kang

Lin Mu watched quietly.

The businesswoman inside her had fully awakened.

As they walked he introduced Mantleheim properly.

The three dwarven races.

The Mountain Dwarves.

The Fireforge Dwarves.

The Rune Dwarves.

Lady Kang’s eyes practically glowed.

She knew exactly what these names meant.

The Great Kang Clan dealt with dwarven products often enough to know their value.

Mountain Dwarves excelled in materials and physical forging.

Fireforge Dwarves specialized in heat techniques and weapon creation.

Rune Dwarves mastered arrays and inscriptions.

Any one of them alone was precious.

And Mantleheim had all three.

Min Ju looked around too.

”Miss...” she whispered. ”This place...”

Lady Kang nodded slowly.

”I know.”

The Great Kang Clan had never established a stable dwarven trade route.

The race was too hidden.

Too isolated.

Most dwarven products reached markets indirectly.

And usually in small numbers.

The quality outside also failed to compare.

Yet here...

Masterpieces lay abandoned beside workshops.

The thought alone was terrifying.

An hour passed like this.

Far longer than Lin Mu expected.

Mostly because Lady Kang inspected everything.

Eventually they reached the Great Hall.

The doors opened.

Everyone inside looked over.

Lady Kang stepped in first.

Her gaze swept across the hall.

Immediately she sensed them.

Three figures.

Profound, heavy and most of all overwhelming.

Her expression straightened.

’Transcendents... Three of them.’ She sensed..

Min Ju froze beside her.

The maid stared openly.

Three Transcendent experts standing together...

The pressure alone was astonishing.

But they were not the only ones present.

Before anyone could speak a red blur shot across the hall.

Lady Kang instinctively opened her arms.

”Shrubby!”

The little beast landed directly into her embrace.

Lady Kang smiled immediately and began petting him.

Shrubby happily accepted.

”Lady Kang!” Daoist Chu stood up.

He looked genuinely pleased.

Lady Kang nodded politely.

”Daoist Chu.”

Meanwhile the others were observing.

Meng Bai had gone entirely silent.

His eyes widened.

He looked at Lady Kang.

Then looked again.

Then once more.

This was easily the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

His brain had stopped briefly.

Beside him Cattaleya narrowed her eyes.

She observed Lady Kang carefully.

The woman was beautiful.

That much was obvious.

But when Cattaleya inspected her cultivation she became surprised.

Sixth Tribulation Stage.

And...

There was something else.

Something hidden.

Something restrained.

The woman felt dangerous.

Cattaleya instinctively recognized it.

This was not someone who relied on status alone.

Elyon meanwhile stared thoughtfully.

He had never met her before.

Yet she felt familiar.

Then realization dawned.

”Kang Yu Ai?”

The famed talent of the Great Kang Clan.

The woman credited with bringing the clan to new heights in recent millenniums.

He looked again.

Now it made sense.

The atmosphere in the hall shifted again when Jing Wei arrived.

He looked at Lady Kang.

Then at Lin Mu.

Then back.

His expression became strange.

Lin Mu introduced everyone calmly.

”This is Lady Kang.”

”The Lady of the Great Kang Clan.”

Everyone greeted her.

Then Lin Mu introduced his companions one by one.

Meng Bai finally recovered enough to bow.

”Junior Meng Bai greets senior.”

Lady Kang smiled lightly.

”Junior?”

She looked at Lin Mu.

Then back at Meng Bai.

”I heard you are his disciple.”

Meng Bai nodded proudly.

Lady Kang smiled again.

Then she suddenly paused.

”Wait.”

Her eyes narrowed.

”How old are you?”

Meng Bai blinked.

”Fifty. Half my master’s age.” he spoke

Lady Kang nodded.

Reasonable.

Then she realized something.

Her expression froze.

The room became silent.

Cattaleya immediately noticed.

”Oh no.” She grinned.

Daoist Chu covered his face.

Jing Wei quietly picked up a drink.

Lady Kang slowly turned toward Lin Mu.

”...Your disciple is half your age?”

Lin Mu nodded honestly.

Min Ju stared.

Lady Kang stared.

The three Transcendent Elders looked confused.

Cattaleya laughed loudly.

”Welcome to the club.”

Lady Kang finally understood the expression everyone else had when they first learned it.

Her lips twitched.

”You truly are ridiculous.”

Lin Mu coughed.

The Mountain Dwarf Elder laughed loudly.

Then he stepped forward.

”Welcome to Mantleheim.”

Lady Kang straightened.

The elder smiled.

”We have heard much about you.”

Lady Kang returned the greeting politely.

But inwardly...

Her thoughts had already become chaotic again.

Three Transcendents.

A hidden dwarven kingdom.

Ancient techniques.

Legendary craftsmen.

Lin Mu, somehow living here and his real age.

But despite that somewhere in the back of her mind... Trade agreements had already begun forming.

Lady Kang spent the next half an hour getting acquainted with everyone properly.

The atmosphere within the great hall had already relaxed considerably after her arrival, yet one could still feel a faint caution lingering from the Transcendent Elders. They had accepted Lin Mu’s word and trusted him, but this woman was still someone unknown to them.

And she was not weak either.

The aura hidden beneath her composed expression was profound enough that even they paid attention.

Lady Kang naturally noticed it too.

She merely smiled and raised a hand.

Dozens of storage rings flashed.

A moment later the hall trembled lightly.

Fifty enormous barrels appeared in neat rows.

The instant they materialized, scents burst forth.

Rich wine aroma.

Spicy liquor.

Sweet fragrances.

Heavy aged alcohol.

Fruity scents.

Some smelled fiery enough to burn the throat while others carried elegant floral notes.

The eyes of every dwarf in the hall immediately turned.

Even the three Transcendents paused.

Lady Kang smiled lightly.

”Since this is my first time meeting the legendary dwarves,” she stated calmly, ”I prepared some gifts.”

The Mountain Dwarf Elder was already beside a barrel before she even finished speaking.

The lid came off.

A wave of fragrance exploded outward.

The old dwarf inhaled deeply.

His eyes widened.

The Fireforge Elder opened another.

The Rune Dwarf Elder had already taken a cup and started drinking directly.

Several minutes passed.

The hall was utterly silent except for drinking sounds.

Then suddenly laughter erupted.

”Hahaha!”

”I like this woman!”

”She understands us immediately!”

”You certainly have good friends, Lin Mu!”

The three elders laughed loudly while holding cups in their hands.
