Immortality Begins With Internal Breathing

Seeing Xu Yuxiang about to call for help, Chen Xihong shouted, ”Wait!”

A sharp light flashed in his eyes as he turned to watch the two fighting ahead. It wasn’t just him, either. Xu Qinyi and Ren Qingfeng were also captivated by the battle between Lin Zheyu and Chen Mu.

Unlike Xu Yuxiang and Ren Qingying, who knew nothing of martial arts, the three of them were outstanding members of esteemed families, strong enough to clearly see what was happening.

On the open ground ahead, Chen Mu erupted with a powerful momentum qi with thick killing intent spreading out from him. He intended to give the young man before him, who had never experienced the slaughter of the battlefield, a harsh lesson.

Those young masters of esteemed families, pampered and sheltered all their lives, would be shaken even if they had reached the Organ Forging Realm when faced with his bloody momentum qi and terrifying killing intent. Once intimidated, they would fail to bring out even half their strength and would not be able to even defeat a Bone Forging Realm martial artist like him.

That was why he looked down on those young masters. Each of them might look strong, but once the fight began, they proved to be nothing but embroidered pillows. They were all show and no substance.

Yet to Chen Mu’s surprise, Lin Zheyu showed no reaction to his momentum qi at all. His expression remained perfectly calm. It was as if he were facing an ordinary opponent.

As Lin Zheyu felt the powerful momentum qi radiating from Chen Mu, a look of excitement appeared on his face. He assumed the stance of the Barbaric Ox Fist, planning to fight using only fist techniques to refine and strengthen his fist momentum.

Bang!

Chen Mu moved with astonishing speed, flashing forward in an instant. Lin Zheyu threw a punch that clashed with Chen Mu’s fist. The collision echoed with a dull thud. Chen Mu’s eyes lit up slightly, and excitement spread across his face.

Impressive strength. His power is on par with mine, and he’s unaffected by my momentum qi. This man is truly remarkable, thought Chen Mu.

Very few could remain unaffected by his momentum qi. The ones that did either had exceptionally strong will, or they too had grasped the concept of momentum. He took a step back and tapped his right foot lightly on the ground. Then, like a venomous snake, he shot forward, striking toward Lin Zheyu’s chest with lightning speed.

Chen Mu’s kick shot forward with terrifying force and sinister precision, aimed directly at Lin Zheyu’s lower body. If it landed, it would surely cripple him for life. Lin Zheyu twisted his body, dodged Chen Mu’s right leg, and closed in, driving an elbow strike toward his chest. Chen Mu raised his arm to block, but the immense force left his arm numb. He paid it no mind, however. Instead, it awakened his ferocity, and his momentum qi surged even more.

”Interesting!”

Lin Zheyu guessed that Chen Mu’s momentum qi was similar to his own fist momentum, fused into his martial technique. Such techniques were extremely difficult to master. Without comprehending the momentum qi within them, they could not be cultivated at all.

”Using battle to nourish momentum... there’s real depth to it.”

The battle continued, and as time passed, Chen Mu’s momentum qi steadily grew, becoming more and more formidable. Chen Mu bared his teeth in a savage grin and unleashed a vicious side kick aimed at Lin Zheyu’s head.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sound of blows echoed through the courtyard. Both men moved with astonishing speed, exchanging more than ten rounds in just a few dozen seconds.

Chen Mu’s attacks were vicious and ruthless. Almost every strike aimed to kill. The Berserker Art was a battlefield-born martial art, one that knew no taboos in combat. It focused on killing with a single move, leaving opponents dead or crippled. That was why none of the young elites from esteemed families liked to spar with him.

”Brother Lin is this strong?” muttered Ren Qingfeng, dumbfounded. He had decided that this man was going to be his brother-in-law.

When he first joked about wanting Lin Zheyu as his brother-in-law, it had mostly been banter with Xu Qinyi, with him being about 30% serious. But seeing Lin Zheyu hold his own against the ferocious Chen Mu today greatly increased his respect for him. With such natural talent, Lin Zheyu was indeed worthy of marrying his sister.

”It’s no wonder Father values Brother Lin so highly. Such talent and such powerful combat ability is far beyond ours. He can even fight Chen Mu evenly!” exclaimed Xu Qinyi in awe.

Lin Zheyu had trained for less than half a year, yet he could exchange blows with Chen Mu on equal footing. Such natural talent was astonishing.

Xu Yuxiang watched the fight with a complicated expression. She stared blankly at Lin Zheyu, and suddenly, the thought of marrying him didn’t seem so hard to accept.

Bang!

Suddenly, Lin Zheyu landed a heavy punch square on Chen Mu’s chest, forcing him back several steps.

”I take back what I said. You’re a worthy opponent, much better than those useless fools watching over there!” said Chen Mu with a grin, still as arrogant as ever.

There was no trace of pain on his face, as if that heavy punch had never landed. Pain only fueled his ferocity and fighting spirit; it did not bring fear.

”Show me everything you’ve got. If this is all you can do, I’ll be very disappointed,” said Lin Zheyu as he gazed calmly at Chen Mu.

This time, he had acted to experience the momentum qi emanating from Chen Mu. But so far, Chen Mu’s momentum qi had not impressed him. It felt rather weak. The brief insight he had just begun to grasp was cut short because Chen Mu’s momentum qi wasn’t strong enough.

”Good!” said Chen Mu.

He then stomped his right foot hard on the ground. His muscles bulged, veins swelled, and his face twisted into something savage. His momentum qi surged once more in an instant. An even more terrifying killing intent burst forth, and his eyes faintly turned crimson.

Bang!

Power exploded beneath Chen Mu’s feet as he shot toward Lin Zheyu. When he reached Lin Zheyu, his body twisted in an odd motion, fist turning into leg as his right leg lashed upward from below in a sudden kick.

Bang!

Lin Zheyu shifted his fist into a palm, seized Chen Mu’s calf, yanked it back, and sent a straight punch crashing toward his face.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The two clashed fiercely once more. Lin Zheyu kept his strength restrained at the mid-stage of the Bone Forging Realm, matching Chen Mu’s power blow for blow. Yet his perception, honed to the Blood Qi Realm, was real and precise.

Although Chen Mu’s attacks were vicious and his experience extensive, he gained no advantage against Lin Zheyu. As time went on, Chen Mu’s momentum qi grew even more intense. A dense killing intent enveloped his entire body and began affecting his mind. Chen Mu’s eyes turned crimson, and a bloodthirsty, murderous momentum qi started radiating from him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Chen Mu’s attacks grew increasingly vicious. He abandoned defense entirely and attacked in a frenzy, each move willing to harm himself even more than his opponent.

”This is bad! Chen Mu is about to lose control!” exclaimed Chen Xihong.

”Run, Young Master Lin! My cousin is about to go berserk!” Xu Yuxiang couldn’t help but shout, her face full of panic.

It was hard to tell whether she was more worried about her cousin or about Lin Zheyu. Lin Zheyu quickly retreated, dodging Chen Mu’s reckless, death-inviting strikes.

What a pity. His momentum is still not strong enough, thought Lin Zheyu.

He had deliberately fought Chen Mu for so long to let the man’s momentum steadily build to its peak, but it still wasn’t enough. The momentum Chen Mu radiated had given him a bit of insight, but not much. His strength was too low. If he were at the peak of the Organ Forging Realm instead, the inspiration he could provide would be far greater.

Lin Zheyu decided not to continue. If the fight dragged on, Chen Mu might cripple himself. The Berserker Art was indeed remarkable, able to nourish momentum through battle so that one’s momentum qi grew stronger as the fight went on, but it came at a cost. The surge was fueled by overdrawn stamina.

If Chen Mu continued pushing himself like this, he might collapse and die from exhaustion. Activating the Golden Goose Technique, Lin Zheyu’s speed skyrocketed. He slipped past Chen Mu’s strike and appeared behind him in a flash.

Bang!

Using his palm like a blade, he struck hard at Chen Mu’s neck. Chen Mu felt a sharp pain shoot through his neck, and his head swam. He staggered a few steps but stubbornly remained conscious.

This guy’s willpower is truly formidable, thought Lin Zheyu, planning to step forward and strike him again.

Seeing him approach, Chen Mu spoke through the pain in his neck and the dizziness clouding his head. ”Stop! I’m fine. I lost this time.”

That single strike had snapped him out of the killing intent’s grip. The crimson in his eyes faded as he regained control of himself.

”Brother Lin, you’re incredible to actually suppress someone like Chen Mu!” exclaimed Ren Qingfeng.

It was obvious to him that Lin Zheyu had been holding back. If Lin Zheyu had used that agile lightness technique together with his fist techniques from the start, Chen Mu would have been defeated within a few rounds.

”It was just luck. I relied on my lightness technique for an advantage. If I had gone head-to-head with Young Master Chen Mu for long, I would have been the one to lose,” said Lin Zheyu modestly.

”Hmph, a loss is a loss. Lightness technique is part of one’s strength too. I can accept defeat. I admit wholeheartedly to losing to you!”

Chen Mu shook his head and felt much better.
