Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1584: Esports Tournament Part 11

A few days later, Xu Feng managed to establish an alliance with three guilds: Dark Legion, Silver Wind, and Tyrant Fist.

The Game Forum nearly exploded in huge traffic when Vanguard made the alliance an official announcement.

”My goodness, these three guilds actually made an alliance with Vanguard?”

”This isn’t like being a mere member in their Chamber of Commerce. But a direct statement of their standings.”

”Are those three guilds even worthy to be an alliance? The Super Guilds could easily eradicate them if they wanted to.”

The majority of players were skeptical and doubtful of the alliance. It would have been fine if those allied with the guilds were powerful or influential.

But the fact that the Vanguard chose guilds that were only influential in their local base and not elsewhere made them wonder if this was a good move.

Of course, there were also salty ones who believed they were more qualified than the chosen three guilds to have an alliance.

Needless to say, there were also some who were gloating at this news.

”Bwahaha, the Vanguard must have knocked their brains off the table.” The MIST heir, Tyler, laughed his butt off when he learned of the news.

He might have been defeated in the past, but that didn’t mean he was done with the Divine World.

Opposite of Tyler was Dusk Sky, otherwise known as the Branch Guild Leader of Riverbane.

In the past, Dusk Sky was booted out of Red Forest City because of the Vanguard Guild.

He was reprimanded heavily despite the higher-ups knowing that he had been equal to the Phoenix Guild.

Hence, a grudge was formed, but Dusk Sky never had any chance of retaliating until now.

Dusk Sky and Tyler never had any interaction, but they shared a common point now. Both of them were royally screwed by the Vanguard Guild and wanted nothing more than their destruction.

”The Vanguard Guild went overboard this time.” Dusk Sky snickered coldly.

”Who doesn’t know the importance of a mine cave? The Razor Nightmare has been making many regular players suffer lately and pinning the blame on Vanguard. We should also fan the flame a little bit.” He continued.

”Yes, we should.” Tyler nodded. ”But never reveal ourselves. We should just hire a few water armies on the anonymous website and pay the deposit to do it.”

”Of course.”

Although the two were vengeful, they weren’t foolish enough to openly reveal their involvement.

They were still quite terrified of the Vanguard’s retaliation.

But after their wicked planning, the two looked at each other and sighed again.

”Forget it, I don’t want to get screwed again.” Tyler exhaled in a tired manner.

”Same here.” Dusk Sky smiled bitterly. He barely got back his position and had no intention of losing it again.

”Waiter, bring another beverage over!”

”Make it double!”

As they drowned themselves in drinks, the two received a notification.

”Hah, look at that. Discount prices for the materials destroyed in the mine cave.” Tyler said sarcastically.

”Good thing I didn’t bother to do anything.” Dusk Sky sighed and chugged his drink. They purposely delayed their actions because something just didn’t sit right with them.

Sure enough, patience was a virtue.

They managed to avoid being a clown and gaining the Vanguard’s spear.

Haven Wind City, City Hall

”The announcement is made,” Veronica informed Xu Feng of the process.

”Good, we’ll start targeting these players who slander us.” Xu Feng nodded. His screen had the Game Forum post and multiple streams open.

He told them to wait a few days to see who was trying their best to take them down a notch.

”I can’t believe there are still dummies here.” Carmen sneered from the sideline. ”Look at these guilds especially. We never even mess with them, but they all gather together to defame us.”

”Let them slander us then. They won’t ever be setting foot in the city.” He mused.

The buildings of the city had been completed. Everything was finally completed after a few days.

Moreover, the temporary safe zone created within Twilight Glades had been established.

With an army camp, they gained the feature of setting up a temporary area. The temporary safe zone was like an additional teleport platform set in the wilderness that players who received authorization could use.

It not only saved them more travel time, but also ensured safety.

”Are we finally opening the city to the public?” Veronica’s eyes quickly lit up. Since she was technically known as the figurehead in Vanguard, many people kept contacting her to inquire about the information.

She nearly got a migraine when she had to reply to the same thing over and over again.

”Will it be alright?” Carmen furrowed her brows. ”We just made the alliance, and they barely got a few days of training in with the simulation.”

”Who said anything about opening the city means giving them the simulation?” Xu Feng chuckled heartily.

”The city can be opened, but some facilities are restricted. If they want to enter, they need to earn the city’s contribution points.” He added.

”City contribution points??!” Both Veronica and Carmen were alarmed.

”Why are the two of you acting so surprised?”

”Well, that’s because we didn’t expect you to set that up.”

”The NPC cities have contribution points, so why couldn’t ours have? The only difference is that NPC cities are owned by NPCs, but ours are owned by us. We get to set the rules and do whatever we please as long as we don’t break the empire’s laws.”

A few seconds later, Veronica was enlightened. Her eyes widened, and she glanced at Xu Feng with a stunned look.

”I can’t believe you’re this evil.” She clicked her tongue. ”By advertising the simulation but putting them locked behind a contribution point system. You are basically telling the players to slave away if they want a shot at the upcoming esports tournament.”

The timing and planning were simply too good to be called a coincidence.

The reason why he delayed the city was all for this.

Seriously, this kind of vast planning gave her major goosebumps.
