Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1497: Defense Border Part 12

Kong Ming’s eyes narrowed coldly when he saw Cedric escaping barely with a glimpse of his life left.

As much as he wanted to chase and pursue the latter, he quickly shook his head.

The battle at the defense border must have been intense for the shockwave to be that high.

’Please be safe, Viscount Lin Feng.’

Kong Ming immediately charged straight to the defense border. He doubted Cedric would return to the battlefield after suffering such a grave injury.

While Kong Ming tried his best to return to the defense border, back at the scene, Xu Feng’s face was covered in blood, his equipment completely in shambles.

Why was that?

Well, just 3 minutes ago, Xu Feng had successfully dealt critical damage to Karoos.

The latter soon erupted into a berserk phase and unleashed the full power of Tier 4.

All the wards that Xu Feng had scattered were destroyed in an instant.

As for him, he was grabbed by the collar and got pummeled repeatedly by his attackers.

”Cough cough cough!” Xu Feng continuously coughed blood, his eyes turning hazy.

’A Tier 4 Demon Lord is indeed out of my league.’ He thought to himself.

He had attempted to use Origin Wrath, but Karoos had unleashed his demonic domain field, effectively silencing him.

The silencing effect was too powerful for him to even temporarily suppress doing anything in retaliation.

He only survived because the Demon Lord didn’t want to kill him too quickly.

”Weren’t you so arrogant earlier?” Karoos laughed heartily and kicked Xu Feng by the abdomen, sending the latter flying.

THUD!

Xu Feng felt his spine crack from the impact. His pain tolerance reached a dangerously high limit.

DING!

[System Notification: Warning! Warning! Warning! The player’s pain tolerance threshold is close to reaching the limit. Any further and there will be some consequences for your real body.]

[System Notification: Do you wish to be forcefully logged out?]

The system didn’t directly force him out and gave him a choice to make. To stay or to leave was up to him, granted that he was warned of the outcome.

”If I log out now, then those evacuated by the wilderness will be consumed by Karoos.” Xu Feng said weakly and rejected the logged-out option.

The penalty will still be applied if he chooses to forcefully log out anyway.

Since that was the case, he might as well continue enduring.

A few seconds later, his passive healing kicked in, and his health was gradually restored to 60%.

Nevertheless, his movement had turned sluggish, and he could barely stand up straight with the Convergence Staff as support.

One could say that this was his very first sorry state situation.

Nobody could have ever imagined him receiving such grave wounds and beatings.

As he struggled to get up, Karoos snorted and gave another kick on his right.

Xu Feng’s barrier kicked in, but it shattered like fragile glass. The kick proceeded, and he could feel that his left ribs were broken.

BANG!

He was once again sent flying. Due to the severe impact, healing had been temporarily restricted. Or more specifically, the corruption from the Demonic Forces was being active.

His mana was at an all-time low, so there was no healing that could be done.

Not to mention, they were all on cooldown at the moment.

”Seems like that’s all you amount to after all those talks.” Karoos snickered coldly when he saw his sorry state.

”Yeah, a big fat bully laughing when winning against a weaker person sure is almighty.” Xu Feng removed the equipment that was no longer usable and taunted him in response.

Even in such a state, he refused to let them walk over him without any retaliation.

Sure enough, Karoos lost his composure. The nerve of him to still yap his mouth under such a condition!

”DIE FOR ME!” Karoos screeched and extended his wing toward him, clearly trying to slice him in half with his burning wing.

Part of it was to instill a reminder in Xu Feng that there were consequences for harming him. Another part was that Karoos disdained dirtying his hand further against such a useless ant.

Upon seeing the wing lunging at him, Xu Feng wanted to wield his staff.

Yes, he had not given up!

To give up meant the end, and he wasn’t willing to go down without a fight.

Alas, just because he had the will and the mentality to continue the fight, his body refused to listen.

With so many bones cracked, he couldn’t even move a muscle. His health points stagnated at 3%, unable to recover due to the corruption effect stripping all of his mana away.

’What a pity...’ Xu Feng truly regretted not having more tools that he could use against a Tier 4 Demon Lord.

He didn’t even bother to expend some of his ragged scrolls to stall the fight.

Unfortunately, Karoos’ sturdy body made it impossible for any of his tools or spells to work.

He stared at the wings motionless and waited for his death to come.

He couldn’t even self-resurrect because of the Demon Lord’s suppression effect.

Just when the wings were about to slice him from top to bottom, Karoos suddenly shifted his movement when he sensed an attack.

With a cold snort, Karoos opened his mouth and breathed out a deadly fire.

SWOOOSH!

The deadly fire collided with the magic from a distance and continued to charge forward.

Meanwhile, the source of the attack blinked away and quickly appeared in front of Xu Feng.

Then, with a swing of their sleeve, they created a shockwave, forcing Karoos to retreat further in the distance. After all, the shockwave contained the power of a Tier 4—not something Karoos dared to take lightly.

”That was of an elite that really cannot be counted on.” Karoos gnashed his teeth when he saw who the attacker was.

”Kong Ming, you shouldn’t have come here.” Indeed, the newcomer was none other than Kong Ming, who had rushed to the scene as quickly as he could.

However, rather than being pleased, Xu Feng was smiling bitterly. ”You should have gone to help the others evacuate. Their distance isn’t far enough.”
