Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1153: Phantom Clones

Having realized the power of the Phantom Riftstep, which summoned 2 clones under the Abyssal Dominion Field’s effect, Xu Feng decided to prioritize this skill next.

Not only could these clones explore ahead on his behalf, but their explosion was also based on his ATK power. However, that description seemed to be untrue, given that the explosion damage was many times higher than his ATK power.

This was truly a miraculous skill that could ensure the enemies would think twice about trying to approach him.

If there happened to be an assassin who thought closing the gap between them was the key to victory, then they would surely be mistaken.

By using Phantom Riftstep, he could easily blink away while leaving behind 2 deadly clones.

Even just thinking about it made Xu Feng somewhat giddy.

He no longer tried to think negatively about Burpe’s departure. After all, he knew Burpe wanted him to continue the legacy through this Phantasm Skill Tree and not be sulking around.

He was a sentimental person, but there was no need to constantly think about it or say it aloud when the memories were engraved in his heart already.

Nobody could deny Burpe’s existence!

He was here and played a critical part in the cleansing of the Phantasm Sea.

”Rest assured, Burpe. I’ll make sure to give you a beautiful Phantasm Sea and credit you for it. No one is allowed to steal your credit.” Xu Feng clenched his fist and glanced at the particle light.

The particle light had turned green, indicating the path ahead was now safe to enter.

Sometime later, he entered the area and inspected the surroundings. The mechanism that activated the arrows was indeed blasted and burned into an unrecognizable state.

He went ahead and approached the mechanisms. There were multiple of them, each with a different scale of damage.

Surprisingly, the one that received the most damage wasn’t the closest one to the clones. Instead, it was actually the furthest mechanism that got destroyed the most.

”Hmm, the initial blast isn’t as effective as the final radius?” Xu Feng’s brows furrowed. Although the closest mechanism wasn’t damaged as heavily as the furthest one, he could discern that there was some slight difference in the blast damage.

”Could it be a chain explosion amplifier?” He suddenly thought about this possibility.

Normally, he would only leave behind one clone when using the Phantom Riftstep, but it became two clones if used within the Abyssal Dominion Field.

It was stated as an enhanced effect, but maybe there was actually more to it than what the system description was stating.

After all, it was almost extremely common for the system to give very brief information on a skill. It was up to the player’s investigation and research ability to explore the possible usages of their skills beyond what the description listed.

”Oh well, I can just test the clones later on.” Xu Feng muttered. There was no rush or need to immediately commence some test and put the skills back to cooldown.

After all, with the guiding function, he would be notified of the danger and send in the clones to check the actual result.

Why bother racking his brain?

Sometime later, Xu Feng continued to follow the green particle light, having made many turns already.

”Is this a shrine or a maze?” He twitched his brows at the complicated layout.

Shouldn’t a shrine be straightforward?

How else were people supposed to come here and pray?

Were they supposed to hold some superficial belief that whoever they worshiped would guide them in the way to pray?

Like, jeez, who designed this crap??!

”I swear... the corruption in the sea is mostly thanks to this incompetence.” Xu Feng remarked.

”Hoh, the prophesied Sea Traveler actually held such a mindset.”

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a voice echoed and reverberated in the area. Their voices carried traces of pressure and authority.

’A tier 6 aura?!’ Astonished, Xu Feng’s body jolted slightly. This was the first encounter with a Tier 6 figure.

The previous Tier 5 figure he interacted with was the City Magistrate Magnus of Star Falls City. But even then, he wasn’t afraid of Magnus because of the Arcane Vein.

However, this unknown voice was different.

He had no leverage or any ideas as to who this Tier 6 figure was. It didn’t even matter if the Tier 6 was a remnant soul.

The power of a Tier 6 was the equivalent of a level 70 trying to fight against a level 150.

No matter how well one’s macro and micro actions were. Against such a large disparity, it was impossible to win.

After all, enemies at this level weren’t dumb or foolish. They had long gained intelligence and were even more crafty than players.

”Pardon my words, Senior.” Xu Feng cupped his fist and apologized. One must learn to adapt and restrain oneself.

It wasn’t considered cowardly to avoid direct confrontation with a terrifying opponent.

”Senior, eh... It’s been a long time since I was addressed in such a manner.”

A gust of wind blew past Xu Feng, and he soon sensed a figure was behind him.

Turning around, Xu Feng kept his head low and dared not look directly into their eyes.

This wasn’t about fear!

This was about respect!

A sign of respect to the strong, to be more precise!

The Tier 6 figure was quite pleased with Xu Feng’s attitude.

’And here I thought the prophesied Sea Traveler was an outspoken and impulsive person. Maybe it was just ranting from the previous situation.’ They had already witnessed the situation near the pool previously and knew about the two spirits merging.

It merely stayed its hands and remained hidden.

”Hmm, lift your head up, Sea Traveler.” They calmly spoke. ”I dare not embarrass the prophesied Sea Traveler and become a sinner of the Phantasm Sea.”

Xu Feng didn’t raise his head immediately. Instead, he gave his thanks and slowly lifted them.

’What a terrifying pressure.’ He cursed silently. The Tier 6 figure claimed to not want to embarrass him but imposed such threatening pressure on him.

How hypocritical!
