Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1142: Global Sea Taunt

The Phantasm Sea seemed to have brightened up more compared to its previous dim and somewhat gloomy atmosphere.

Additionally, the map in his hand also had quite a few parts exposed, essentially making navigation easier.

He no longer needed to sail blindly anymore.

What was fascinating was that the next Abyssal Tide Beacon was marked already on the map, albeit still covered in darkness. However, the difference was that he now had a sense of direction to sail toward.

”BUROPE!”

Amidst Xu Feng’s focus on the map, he suddenly heard a loud voice, followed by a presence hugging him.

”Haha, so it’s you, Burpe!” Xu Feng chuckled heartily and rubbed its liquid-like substance on its head.

”Did you miss me that much?”

”Burope~”

”Hmm, can you no longer talk properly?” His brows furrowed when he sensed something was amiss with Burpe. Although Burpe appeared energetic, there seemed to be something missing in him.

”Burope. Burip. Burop.” Burpe said in succession, almost as if trying to communicate with him regarding the issues.

”Fret not, I can still somewhat understand the situation.” He might not have been able to fully comprehend, but the general gist should be related to the changes in the Phantasm Sea.

Having realized Burpe held a deeper lore in the sea, it was only within the expectation that it would also undergo some changes.

Although it would be a bit boring to no longer have a proper conversation, he could still accept the situation.

”Anyway, can you control the hydro cannons?” Xu Feng calmly asked.

”Burope!” Burpe extended their liquid-like hand and made a salutation.

As if afraid of him not understanding his response, Burpe leaped away from his arms and rushed straight to the control of the hydro cannon.

”Haha, I’ll leave the cannons to you then.” He chuckled in amusement.

Right when Xu Feng was about to set sail and continue his exploration in the Phantasm Sea, a system prompt finally appeared.

System Notification: The Phantasm Sea has undergone a change. Within the beacon’s range, monster attributes are reduced by 20% and its health point is halved. But outside the beacon range, monster attributes are increased by 30%, and its health points are also tripled. Additionally, you have been marked with the Global Sea Taunt by the Abyssal Eye.

’A Global Sea Taunt?’ Astonished, Xu Feng hurriedly opened his status screen.

Sure enough, there was a status ailment icon next to his screen.

The icon was crimson with a singular eye, appearing very menacingly.

He clicked on the icon and read the details.

—

Global Sea Taunt

Status Ailment: Curse Type

Curser: Abyssal Eye

Description: The Abyssal Eye had been enraged by the Sea Traveler’s effort in ruining its centuries-long plans to dominate the Phantasm Sea. To prevent the Sea Traveler’s journey into unsealing the Sea Heart. The Global Sea Taunt caused the Sea Traveler to immediately gather aggro from nearby monsters to target you.

Note: Only effective in the Phantasm Sea! Once outside the Phantasm Sea, the curse would disappear.

”...”

Speechless, Xu Feng was completely caught off guard by this kind of curse.

What the hell was wrong with this cowardly Abyssal Eye?

How could he...

How could he be so fucking generous!!!

Rather than feeling disappointed or frightened by the taunt, Xu Feng wanted to greet and bow in front of the almighty Abyssal Eye.

’Oh my lord. I don’t even need to waste time searching for monsters anymore to blast when this kind Abyssal Eye is willing to deliver them for me. Too bad I’m petty and cheap to give you some tip, Abyssal Eye.’ Xu Feng wanted to jump up in joy, but refrained from doing so.

Who knows if the Abyssal Eye might be lurking and spying on him?

He cannot let the Abyssal Eye know he enjoyed this curse so much.

Time to put on his Oscar-worthy acting skills!

In the blink of an eye, Xu Feng plopped to the ground, his face turning ghastly pale.

”A Global Sea Taunt? Why is the Sea against me?” He cried aloud, his hand turning into a fist. ”How could the Abyssal Eye be so capable of placing a curse on me? I thought he was already sealed!”

His sudden outburst caught Burpe by surprise, who promptly rushed to his aid and tried to console him.

Meanwhile, within the emptiness, there was a figure who was enjoying the suffering and outcry.

’Heh, serve you right, Sea Traveler. How dare you try to meddle in the affair between me and those damnable Sirens!’ The Abyssal Eye laughed wickedly.

Having realized his curse was causing the Sea Traveler to have a mental breakdown, it soon retracted its spying skill. After all, the consumption of the skill took a toll on it and its recovery to become unsealed. There was no need to waste more energy now that it had confirmed Xu Feng’s misery.

Not to mention, with the abundance of sea monsters wanting to devour Xu Feng alive, the Abyssal Eye was more than relieved.

’I can soon be unsealed!’ Abyssal Eye laughed internally, vanishing from the scene.

While the Abyssal Eye retracted its spying, Xu Feng remained unaware that his paranoia helped him greatly this time.

After all, the spying method was too profound and above his level to even detect anything.

And at the current moment, Xu Feng was busy trying to figure out ways to communicate with Burpe more efficiently.

”Okay, you’ll respond with Burop for any okay or acceptance sign and Burip as not good.” Xu Feng calmly said.

”Burop!” Burpe saluted and responded.

”Hmm, should I ditch you here?” He rubbed his chin and asked softly.

”Burip!” Burpe appeared to be saddened by the question.

”Haha, just kidding.” He hurriedly held him and rubbed his liquid-like head. ”Just a small test to confirm that you understand these two.”

Sometime later, the two of them played around to improve their compatibility and teamwork.

There was no need to rush out.

Time might be tight, but Xu Feng would rather spend a few extra minutes to improve than rush ahead without any preparation.

In the long run, those who were prepared were bound to reap the greatest rewards as opposed to the impulsive and unprepared ones.

’Either way, I planned on reaching level 70 this time.’ Xu Feng clenched his fist.
