Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 501: Distortion of Reality

Herald Fist was among the few who managed to react in time and forcefully propelled himself to the floor, albeit at the cost of his health points.

Ardent Lance also escaped after his reaction time improved a lot from the time he battled during Xu Fengʼs leadership in the Fallen Swamp.

However, the other Tanks were not so fortunate. They were hit with Distortion of Reality and began deviating from the group. And that wasnʼt even the worst part.

The group of affected Tanks had their reality distorted and began to see Xu Feng and the rest as Elite Enemies. Their eyes flared ferociously as they started charging toward them.

”Hmph, what Distortion of Reality?”

”As if weʼll be fooled that easily. Hurry and rush toward them to blockade them from attacking our backline.”

”I got your left side, so hold the flank on the right. We are the greatest Tanks of the Tyrant Fist Guild. We canʼt embarrass our Guild Leader!”

Their ferocity and loyalty were surely something else, except it was used completely on the wrong target.

Witnessing Herald Fistʼs group of Tanks charging at their own ally, Herald Fist wanted nothing more than to punch them all to death to cover the embarrassment of todayʼs incident.

Already feeling ashamed of the incident, to pour salt on his wounds, OneManMediaʼs eyes lit up as he panned the camera to the affected Tanks.

”Viewers, our situation has changed drastically. At least 70% of our Tanks have defected and clamored for the Elite Enemies, having mistaken them as their Guild Leader.” OneManMedia exclaimed and made sure to hype up the event, much to the disbelief of Herald Fist.

Was now really the time to be doing a commentary?

Amidst the horror of the sudden situation, the Elite Enemies grinned wickedly in response to fooling the Tanks.

Following the scene, the Petrifying Wardens took advantage of this to cast their petrifying abilities at the backline, which had a large opening with barely any Tanks blocking on their behalf.

In their eyes, this was a feast and only a fool would refuse to take the chance to feast themselves.

”The remaining Tanks that are not affected by the distortion! Quickly form a close defense line!” Xu Feng hurriedly commanded and gazed at the time.

ʼIt should be about time.ʼ He thought to himself, sending Flint to use Earthquake Stomp to delay the distorted Tanks from advancing further.

As Flint revealed himself and unleashed a devastating force of power, the distorted Tanks remained firm and determined.

”Hmph, just another mere creature. Nothing to be impressed about!”

”Brothers, let charge and smolder that flying creature to nothingness.”

”Yes, brother!”

Usually, such camaraderie would be praised and admired by many, but their current camaraderie was nothing but a joke. Many of the players frowned at the sight, with some unconsciously gazing at Herald Fist.

Although Herald Fist shouldnʼt be faulted for the situation, they still couldnʼt help but blame it on him for not waiting for Xu Feng to make a command.

When had Xu Feng ordered them to leap up into the air and make themselves an easy target for the Riftborn Sorcerers?

”No need to flash hostility at Herald Fist. There are other tanks as well affected, so I donʼt need anyone to play the blame game.” Amidst Herald Fistʼs embarrassment, Xu Feng cleared his throat and warned his members.

A grateful look appeared on Herald Fistʼs face. With Xu Feng warning the others to not direct their anger or blame on him or his guild, it saved him the headache of clarifying his position.

After all, if any malicious people such as Gentle Wind wanted to pour salt on his wound, they could easily accuse him of being a saboteur.

Once labeled as a saboteur, especially in front of a live audience in the stream that OneManMedia was doing, that would effectively put the Tyrant Fist Guild on the bad publicity side.

Who would want to join his guild by then?

ʼPhew, it was indeed a correct choice to spend so much money on Guild Leader Lin Fengʼs items and businesses to establish a decent relationship.ʼ Herald Fist breathed a sigh of relief and felt his investment was well spent.

Of course, he knew for a long time that Xu Feng loved to exploit his wealth, but he didnʼt care. Money was meant to be spent, especially when one was quite filthy rich, they needed to invest in worthy things.

Not to mention, the items that Xu Feng sold to him were impeccably amazing and useful to his plight. That was on top of its exclusively, which made it all worth it, considering the other guilds would be scrambling to get some scrap to improve their guild.

ʼI supposed Ardent Lance made a good impression during his time with Guild Leader Lin Feng. I shall reward him after the raid is done.ʼ Herald Fist kept a mental note in mind.

And although it seemed like he took a long time to think, the truth was that only a mere 10 seconds had passed since Flint obstructed the distorted Tanks from advancing.

Simultaneously, Xu Feng started instructing everyone to rotate to the right side by at least 5 meters.

Originally, 3 meters would have been fine, but to ensure the distorted Tanks wouldnʼt fall into the bottomless pit after the shifting in the floors, he could only push it up to 5 meters.

ʼSigh, I guess I canʼt even take a breather when these so-called elites love to do their own thing. Just how are these guilds even functioning and not crumbling by now is already beyond me.ʼ Xu Feng furrowed his brow and realized having a large financial power was truly the key to a guildʼs survival.

Despite how clumsy and ridiculous garbage that these elites had in their discipline revolving around dungeon raids or monster grinds, they could still manage because of their immense wealth.

With money, they could practically hire and have the players do everything over and over again. Even if they failed 9 out of 10 times, as long as they had one success, then they would get their money back.
