Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

The brief flicker in Evan Fairchild’s eyes vanished. He turned and walked away.

Melody Monroe looked up at his back, completely unable to fathom what was going through his mind.

A knock sounded at the door. Evan Fairchild took the breakfast and said to Melody Monroe, ”Eat your breakfast.”

Melody Monroe realized that Ian had fallen asleep again. The breakfast Evan Fairchild had ordered was only a single portion.

”Aren’t you eating?”

”I don’t have an appetite.” Evan Fairchild sat on the sofa. ”It’s all yours. You have to eat every last bite.”

Melody Monroe looked crestfallen. ”So much?”

”Don’t leave anything.”

Right then, Evan Fairchild was the very picture of a strict parent disciplining a child.

She wasn’t even this strict when she fed Ian. She would just tell him to eat as much as he could, never demanding that he finish every single thing.

Under Evan Fairchild’s gaze, she sat down and quietly ate her breakfast.

Seeing that she was nearly finished, Evan Fairchild got up and walked toward the bathroom.

’I’ll just take a shower. Maybe I’ll feel better.’

Melody Monroe finished breakfast, but Evan Fairchild still hadn’t emerged. She left a note and departed quietly.

...

During the shoot, Rose Shaw arrived on set.

Raymond Ford, who was on a break at that moment, saw Rose Shaw and immediately came over.

Rose Shaw was mainly there to see Melody Monroe, but she had business with Raymond Ford as well.

”Rose, why don’t you come sit in my lounge area for a bit?” Raymond Ford invited warmly.

Rose Shaw sized Raymond Ford up once more.

Raymond Ford felt a chill run through her at Rose Shaw’s gaze.

Rose Shaw followed Raymond Ford to her lounge area, took a seat, and set the file she was carrying aside.

Raymond Ford glanced at the file, and a flicker of anticipation crossed her eyes. The file bore the Bloomwell logo. ’It’s from Bloomwell!’

’Could it be... the Bloomwell endorsement contract?’

”Rose, all I have is bottled water. Would you like one?”

Rose Shaw accepted the water from Raymond Ford and took a few sips.

Raymond Ford shot another glance at the file, anxiously waiting for Rose Shaw to say something.

”Raymond Ford, I will be requesting that the company terminate our working relationship. They will arrange for a new agent for you.”

”What?!” Raymond Ford’s voice shot up. She never imagined that these would be the first words out of Rose Shaw’s mouth.

’Her career is on the upswing right now. Suddenly changing agents... that’s a huge professional taboo!’

’And besides, Rose Shaw had access to Stellaris’s best resources!’

”Rose, if I’ve done something wrong, please tell me. I can change. I can’t do this without you.”

”You’ve been fine.”

”But then why end our professional relationship? Rose, I really don’t understand.”

”Did you contact Bloomwell privately?” Rose Shaw asked, finally deciding to be direct since Raymond Ford was being so insistent.

She hadn’t wanted to expose her so bluntly.

A flustered look appeared on Raymond Ford’s face. ’Didn’t they say they’d keep it confidential? How could word have gotten back to Rose Shaw?’

”Rose, listen, let me explain. I have a friend who knows someone on the inside at Bloomwell, and he just asked a few questions for me. I honestly didn’t mean to go over your head and negotiate the endorsement myself.”

”That is a major professional taboo for me. We don’t even have the most basic trust between us.”

”Rose, please believe me! I told him not to ask, I really did! He must have been meddling and asked on my behalf,” Raymond Ford argued, still trying to weasel her way out.

But Rose Shaw had already gotten her hands on a recording of Raymond Ford’s conversation with those people.

The people at Bloomwell had given it to her when she went to pick up the contract.
