Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”Mommy and Ian’s daddy aren’t married, but he loves you, just like Mommy does.”

”Why didn’t Mommy and Daddy get married? Everyone else’s mommy and daddy are married. Did Mommy and Daddy get a divorce?”

Melody Monroe was stumped. ’How does a child understand so much?’

She wondered if Ian could accept it if she told him outright that Evan Fairchild was his father.

’All children long for a father,’ she thought. ’The sense of security a dad provides is something a mother can’t replace. Maybe after spending some time with Evan Fairchild, Ian will gradually accept him.’

Whether it was now or in the original novel, Evan Fairchild never gave up on Ian.

In the original novel, he even handed Starfall over to Ian to manage and personally taught him. Evan Fairchild was a good father.

But in the original novel, by the time the father and son acknowledged each other, Ian was already the villain boss, growing stronger step by step.

Aside from a shred of respect for Evan Fairchild, he felt little affection for him.

That was why, in the original novel, after Ian Monroe learned of his mother’s death, the last shred of kindness in his heart was completely extinguished!

Melody Monroe stroked Ian Monroe’s head and said gently, ”Mommy has something she wants to discuss with you, Ian. The nanny can’t look after you anymore, and Mommy has to work, so there won’t be anyone to take care of you. Right now, Mommy is going to take you to another place. There’s someone there who can look after you, and that will put my mind at ease.”

”Mhm.” Ian Monroe nodded.

Melody Monroe’s heart warmed, and she hugged Ian Monroe tightly. ”You’re such a good boy, Ian.”

”Ian will listen to Mommy.”

Melody Monroe kissed Ian Monroe’s cheek. ”Mommy loves you the most, too. There’s one more thing you must remember, Ian. That guest from before... his last name is Fairchild. He’s not a bad person, he’s a good person. You can’t be so rude to him again, okay?”

”Okay.” Ian Monroe nodded obediently.

Melody Monroe picked Ian Monroe up. ”Alright, let’s go now.”

”Mhm.” Ian Monroe nodded, wrapping his arms around his mother’s neck and resting in her embrace.

Melody Monroe carried Ian Monroe downstairs. A car was parked by the roadside—it was the same Maybach from before, only this time, Evan Fairchild was behind the wheel.

When Evan Fairchild saw Melody Monroe and Ian Monroe come down, he was surprised they were so quick.

’Is the little brat that easy to persuade?’

’He certainly didn’t seem like the easy-to-handle type.’

”Ian, apologize to Mr. Fairchild,” Melody Monroe said softly.

”I’m sorry.” Though extremely reluctant, Ian Monroe still listened to his mother and forced out the two words.

Evan Fairchild was stunned for a moment. Such a complete 180 in his attitude in such a short amount of time!

”Get in the car.” Evan Fairchild opened the door for them like a gentleman.

”Mr. Fairchild, didn’t you go to kindergarten?” Ian Monroe suddenly asked, a polite smile on his small face. ”Every kid in kindergarten knows that when someone says ’I’m sorry,’ you’re supposed to say, ’It’s okay.’”

Evan Fairchild: ...

’My impression of this little brat being well-behaved a moment ago was definitely a delusion!’

Melody Monroe: ...

’The tension had just started to ease. How did they end up at odds again in the blink of an eye!’

Evan Fairchild smiled too. ”Did you know that sometimes ’I’m sorry’ doesn’t get you an ’it’s okay’ in return? And ’I’m sorry’ isn’t something you should say lightly. But seeing as you have such a good attitude and know you did something wrong, I’ll let it slide for your mother’s sake.”

The smile on Ian Monroe’s face instantly froze, and he puffed out his cheeks in anger.
