Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Every sunrise and sunset, in their endless cycle, offered a different view.

Beneath this sea of neon lights, there was its own unique hustle and bustle.

Melody Monroe stood at the window, gazing out at the tapestry of neon lights. They reflected in her eyes, sparkling with their own unique brilliance.

’I wonder what Ian is doing right now.’ The thought made her miss him so much her chest ached.

Melody Monroe took out her phone and dialed Ian’s number.

Ian was sitting on a small stool, intently studying the instruction manual. He had just finished dinner and was now busy building with his blocks. ’When Mom gets back, I’ll have all of these finished to show her!’

He hadn’t touched the few small trees his mother had built and was carefully protecting them.

’Because they look just like Ian and Mom!’

”Mom’s calling! Mom’s calling!” The phone watch suddenly rang.

Ian immediately looked up and picked up his phone watch.

”Mom!”

”Sweetheart, have you eaten?”

”I have. What about you, Mom?” Ian asked quickly.

”I’ve eaten too. What are you up to right now?”

”Building with my blocks.”

”That’s wonderful!” Melody Monroe praised him immediately. An image of Ian’s focused expression involuntarily surfaced in her mind. ’Making this call is just making me miss him more!’

”Sweetheart, go out onto the balcony.”

Ian immediately stood up and ran toward the balcony.

”Look, the moon is so beautiful tonight. Even though I’m not with you, we’re looking at the same moon. Mom and Ian are moon-gazing together!”

Ian looked up at the overcast sky.

’It’s cloudy today. There’s no moon.’

”So? Isn’t it beautiful?”

”Yeah, it’s beautiful!” Ian answered at once, his tone surprisingly indulgent.

’As long as Mom is happy.’

’Mom is the most beautiful.’

’The moon isn’t as beautiful as Mom.’

’Mom is talking about the moon.’

’Ian is talking about Mom.’

Hearing her son’s voice, Melody Monroe laughed happily. ”I might be busy for a while longer. I miss my Ian so much, what am I going to do?”

”Call me,” Ian answered seriously.

”But I’ll still miss you. I want to hug my Ian, and kiss my Ian, and cook lots and lots of yummy food for him every day.” Melody Monroe didn’t realize she was pouting to her own son.

Hearing his mother say this, Ian didn’t know what to do.

’But Mom has to work.’

’Grown-ups all have to work. Mom can’t be with Ian every day.’

Ian understood all of this.

’But... Mom misses Ian so much. What is there to do?’

”Be good, Mom.”

”PFFT!” Melody Monroe couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Hearing those three words from his sweet, childish voice truly melted her heart.

’So he was actually being serious and trying to figure out what to do!’

’How could this little guy be so adorable!’

”I won’t be good. I can’t be good without a kiss from my Ian.”

Ian’s little face flushed slightly. He secretly glanced back at the housekeeper busy in the kitchen, then ducked further into the shadows and planted a kiss on his phone watch.

Melody Monroe heard the sound. It was very faint.

In that moment, she could truly feel his soft little lips kissing her cheek. In that moment, she was the happiest woman in the world!

”I’m so happy! Ian kissed me! I’m so content.”

Ian didn’t say anything, his face red. His mother’s laughter was infectious, and his beautiful, big eyes crinkled with a smile.

”I’m going to rest now, so you should get to sleep early too.”

”Good night, Mom.”

”Good night, sweetheart. Mwah~~”

Ian waited for his mom to hang up, took off his watch, tidied up the blocks on the table, and ran toward the bathroom.

Time for Ian to take a bath and go to sleep!

’Mom is going to sleep now, so I have to go to sleep now too.’

’That’s like sleeping together with Mom!’
