The 99th Divorce

Rong Rui finished the soup in the bowl and then got up. “I am going out.”

“Where?”

“There are some errands. I will come back later.” Rong Rui brushed past his wife, lifted her chin, and kissed her face.

Cheng You looked disgusted and complained, “Have you wiped your mouth? disgusting!”

Rong Rui chuckled, waved his hand, and took the car key. He drove all the way to the local police office, parked the car, hesitated after a while, and stepped forward.

When Rong Anna returned to the inn, Bo Xiao was not yet back.

Feeling slightly relieved, she unconsciously reached out and touched her flat belly. After Anna took a shower, she came out again, and her fiancé was already sitting on the bedside stool. Holding the money in his hand, he looked over at Rong Anna.

Rong Anna wiped her hair and felt slightly nervous. She quickly turned her eyes and asked, “Did you meet Tiger?”

Bo Xiao did not answer this question directly. Instead, he held the money in his hand and looked at her sharply. He asked, “Anna, where did the money come from?”

Rong Anna’s eyes flashed, and she said, “I took it from the bank card my cousin gave to me…”

Bo Xiao was amused by her and said, “Oh my Anna, do you know what you are doing? Do you think your cousin could be trusted? Didn’t we agree to withdraw money when we are going to leave? Then I will plant it on Tiger. At that time, we can retire and go away from here. Why are you so disobedient?”

Rong Anna couldn’t help but wet her eyes. Rubbing her hair, she whispered, “My cousin is not someone else. Although he is useless, he is a good person, and he will not sell me out.”

“My silly Anna, you are not his biological cousin. Don’t you know that?” Then the voice of Bo Xiao also softened. He whispered, “We have killed people and are carrying stolen goods. Our hands are dirty. What made you think that Rong Rui will not betray us?”

“I…”

“No matter what, there should be no accidents in the middle of the night. Let’s leave this place, wait until Tiger arrives tomorrow, get the money and leave.”

Rong Anna nodded and watched him pack things up, and her heart was in a mess. Just as he had all the suitcases up, Rong Anna went up and hugged him from behind. He paused, turned and looked over. Rong Anna hugged him and her hands were getting tighter and tighter. He looked down at her, reached out and put his hands on hers, and whispered, “What’s wrong?”

“Xiao,” Rong Anna’s eyes were a little red. “Why did we become like this? We should be happy and last for a lifetime with our parents and friends. Why have we become this way? Endless escape, a dark future, I really don’t want to be like this.”

With his hands resting on the back of Rong Anna’s hand, he sighed softly. “I don’t want to be like this either. If I could live a good life, why would I do this? But have you ever thought about it? If we were not in this industry, the Bo group would have gone bankrupt a long time ago, and your parents wouldn’t let us get engaged, and my parents couldn’t have had a place in the capital. I don’t want to do this, but we have to live, don’t we?”

Rong Anna hugged him without speaking, and silently shed tears behind him. He became silent as well, standing in the same place with his mood complicated.

“Xiao, I am pregnant.”
