Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 847: Chapter 218: Game World?

Vid turned his head, his pupils suddenly contracting.

The girl, who had just struggled to get up from the ground, suddenly fell down again. She groaned in pain as her body rapidly shrank, and in an instant, she was buried in a pile of clothes, leaving only her dusty, fine hair visible.

”What’s happening?” Harry couldn’t help but whisper, ”She’s been shrunk!”

His face was full of disbelief, as if his worldview had been overturned, yet he completely did not relate it to himself.

At this moment, Harry probably still didn’t have the awareness of ”he himself is quite special.”

Right then, a dark green leopard suddenly appeared again. It looked at the girl on the ground, its expression seemingly somewhat shocked.

Vid looked at the leopard, also feeling extremely shocked—

Are there leopards of this color in nature?

Moreover, the patterns on its body increasingly looked like various plants the more he looked.

The cheetah bared its teeth, dangerously advancing slowly towards the girl on the ground, but before it could get close, a dazzling light suddenly shot over, directly piercing through the cheetah’s abdomen!

The strange creature screeched, but no blood flowed from its abdomen, only a charred hole that penetrated from both sides.

The cheetah, startled, instantly leaped up and quickly disappeared from the courtyard with extreme agility.

Soon after, the sound of footsteps came, along with the voices of two people:

”How dangerous, there’s actually a contestant running over! Weren’t all the champions eliminated by that lad?”

”You’re really dumb; isn’t there that one who slipped through the net?”

”Alright, I thought she would be finished off by that leopard. My mistake.”

”Luckily, there’s this mist here. No matter how many wizards come, they won’t pose a threat to us.”

”But the leopard ran away; be careful it might come back.”

”So what if it returns? Even if it were a poppet, it’s still just a beast. Would you and I fear a mere beast?”

The two did not bother to disguise their volume, emerging from behind a stone pillar, one being a slightly hunched man with a grotesque scar on his face, extending from his eyebrow to the corner of his mouth.

He held a peculiarly shaped gun in his hand, which looked a bit like a water gun that children might like, even in its colorful appearance, with a little dolphin attached to the top, full of childlike whimsy.

Yet the beam that had pierced through the cheetah’s abdomen came from this cute ”water gun”.

The other was a woman covered in tattoos, with an average appearance, short hair, and slightly dark skin, her face carrying a fierce aura, granting her plain looks a unique charm.

She was hung with various weapons, practically a walking human armory.

The woman also held a Golden Teapot in her hand. Standing far from the golden mist, she tossed the Golden Teapot far away.

The teapot landed steadily on the ground, suddenly as if the water inside was boiled, the lid jumped up, emitting ”gurgle” sounds, the slender spout pulsing as if swallowing something.

The golden mist morphed into a thin tornado, spinning as it was swallowed into the Golden Teapot, and in no time, the mist in the center of the clearing disappeared completely.

Vid clung to the stone, staring intently at the teapot, engraving every detail of it firmly in his mind.

If this thing shrunk them... could it be used to turn the two back to normal?

He glanced around; the pair stood blocking the escape route, not by chance anyone would believe.

They probably had long known Harry and Vid were hiding there, just like cats playing with mice, not in a hurry to catch them.

Or perhaps...

Because they were wary of something, they preferred to pretend to ignore it, without making rash moves on the two?

Vid speculated in his mind, glancing again at Harry beside him.

The child was completely enthralled by the teapot, staring intently with his mouth open in awe, but occasionally his gaze drifted to where the girl was, looking worried.

The shrunken girl lay still among a pile of clothes, with only red blood seeping across the uneven stone floor.

”Enough talk.” The scarred man asked, ”The broadcast was cut off, right?”

”Of course... But this technique is amazing! Using a small mirror to achieve TV broadcasting.” The tattooed woman picked up the Gold Teapot, speaking with full admiration.

”And the trophy, better retrieve it early, lest we get traced back.”

”Do I need you to say? As soon as the little rabbit came, someone went to retrieve the trophy! By the way, Communication Pea is really handy.”

—TV broadcast? Communication Pea? What are these guys talking about?

Vid originally thought he had understood what kind of world he was in at the moment, but suddenly he was confused once more.

The child beside him bearing the name [Harry Potter], perhaps just happened to be a character in this game?

At least in the world he knows, there shouldn’t be such a thing as broadcasting.

The world before him appears less and less like a real magic world.

And those two not far off, having no names above their heads—are they NPCs or high-level players?

Just as Vid’s thoughts veered rapidly in a direction far from reality, a sudden loud sound echoed in the courtyard.

”Bang!”

Vid held his breath, peering outside through the gap between the stone pillars.

A very thin man strode through the courtyard, tightly gripping a gold trophy in his hand.

He wore a tattered black robe, with disheveled hair plastered to a pale forehead, deeply sunken eyes, and corners of the mouth occasionally twitching, the face bearing a manic intensity.

Vid frowned, deeply averse to such obviously anti-social personalities.

Unlike the other two, a string of text floated above the man’s head, presumably his character name. However, being a bit distant, Vid couldn’t discern it.

He had a brainwave, forming a tiny triangular hole with his thumb, index, and middle finger, like a viewfinder, to closely observe the string of English atop the man’s head.

Vid murmured to himself:

”Barty... Crouch?”

His heart jolted sharply, nearly crying out.

This appearance, this demeanor... he could only think of one person!

”Oh, you’re back!”

The previous two speakers turned their gaze, with expressions neither friendly nor disdainful.

”I heard you got caught, Crouch,” the scar-faced man lifted his eyes, speaking in a flat tone: ”No problem?”

—Although he seems to be expressing concern, his demeanor and tone suggested—how come you’re not dead yet?

”Cut the crap!” Barty Crouch Jr. hoarsely growled, his gaze coldly sweeping around: ”Where’s the person? We need to start the ceremony quickly, lest Dumbledore comes after us.”

”Don’t worry, those little bunnies can’t run far. We tested it multiple times—no matter how strong they were before, now their minds and intelligence are genuinely childlike.”

The tattooed woman said, together with the scar-faced man turning to look at where Vid and Harry were hiding, smiling:

”Two kids no older than five or six... how could they escape from us?”
