Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 846: Chapter 217: Is This Real?

Vid was feeling restless lately.

He was about to start primary school, and the thought of being surrounded by chattering, crying kids in a few months made him very annoyed.

But as a six-year-old child, there were very few things he could decide for himself.

Vid had barely managed to win the right to decide what clothes to wear, but he still couldn’t avoid nasty food, the decision of going to primary school, or his mother’s whims to travel at any time.

Like today, when he woke up and found himself in a completely unfamiliar place that looked like an abandoned monastery. Was this another ”historic and memorable” tourist spot?

But the most outrageous thing was that the couple actually left him here all by himself! Alone, with a strange child in an unfamiliar place! They were nowhere to be found!

—Were his parents really that unreliable?

Vid briefly doubted himself, but facts speak louder than words, and soon his heart was filled with emotions like grievance, anger, and disbelief.

Perhaps because he was now in a child’s body, and influenced by hormones or the environment, he couldn’t quite control his emotions rationally and often acted more like a child.

So when Vid spoke, his tone wasn’t very friendly:

”Hey, kid, who are you?”

The kid opposite him looked soft and adorable, around the same age as Vid, a bit more skinny, but his clear, bright green eyes easily made people warm to him.

It seemed like the kid was startled by his tone; he shrank back a little and said softly, ”Harry Potter.”

Vid raised an eyebrow, doubting he heard correctly, and asked again, ”What did you say your name was?”

”Harry Potter.”

The green-eyed child repeated, then looked around in a panic and asked, ”What is this place? How did I get here? Where are Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon?”

Vid was silent, squinting as he spotted a uniquely shaped lightning scar on the child’s forehead through his messy hair.

Then his gaze moved upward, and he saw the kid had a name hovering above his head—

[Harry Potter].

What was this? A game character’s name?

Then this world... is it truly real?

The child sniffled desperately, ”Did they decide to abandon me after all? I knew it, Uncle Vernon has always thought I was a big nuisance...”

Vid didn’t reply, tightly pressing his lips together with a solemn expression, though his eyes were particularly lively.

His gaze moved from Harry’s forehead downward to see a pile of ill-fitting clothes and a slender stick on the ground. Around him was the same scene, with bottles and vials slipping out from the pockets of his clothes at his feet.

Vid’s pupils constricted sharply as he suddenly realized the situation might be far worse than he had imagined.

He quickly bent down, grabbed the two sticks first, then randomly scooped up all the clothes on the ground and pulled Harry to run quickly towards a nearby building ruin.

”Bang!”

A strange sound came from behind, and without thinking, Vid tugged Harry down in a rush; they awkwardly rolled behind a section of arches, and the jagged stones and weeds became their natural sanctuary.

Gasping for breath, Vid looked towards the source of the sound.

A girl with honey-colored curls, dressed in what seemed like combat attire, shrieked and fell to the ground, a terrible wound on her back, with blood staining the surrounding gray-white ground.

Vid squinted, trying to see—the name hovering above the girl’s head—what was it?

”She looks like she needs help.” A tentative voice spoke beside him, ”Can we help her?”

Vid turned his head to see Harry looking at him, tentatively saying, ”At least... at least call someone to ask for help?”

—Help her? We don’t even know if she’s friend or foe, or if we can even survive!

Vid was very nervous inside, even starting to feel irritable, but he resisted the urge to argue back, taking a deep breath to calm himself down.

In his previous life, from a young age, his parents often taught him that it’s easy to say hurtful things, but taking them back is impossible. Some verbal wounds never heal.

So if you don’t know how to express yourself appropriately, or if emotions cloud your mind, it’s better to stay silent and speak only after you’ve thought it through.

He had ended that lifetime fairly young, never really mastering the art of language, but at least he knew when to keep his mouth shut.

After calming down and thinking it through, the child in front of him was around the same age as he was now... If he was indeed the Harry Potter he knew, then he was born at the end of July and should be even younger than Vid in this life.

Psychologically, this child truly was just six years old.

But given the sudden upheaval, he did not scream or cause a scene after the initial fear, and even when being dragged along by Vid, he didn’t struggle or question it, and he still thought of helping others, which was quite commendable.

In just a few breaths, various thoughts flashed through Vid’s mind, and he looked at Harry, saying, ”Don’t move or make a sound; there might be bad people nearby!”

Harry hesitated, then nodded, eyeing the girl moaning on the ground with sympathy, and obediently crouched behind the rocks without saying anything more.

Shortly after, the child grimaced in pain, looked at his bare feet—his shoes had fallen off while running over, and stepping on the debris on the ground, his foot was bleeding.

Vid briskly pulled up his loose pants, using his belt to bind his shirt and pants together, folding the pant legs several times to barely keep them from dragging, then frowned at the oversized boots.

It wasn’t that he was picky, but with such harsh surroundings, without a good pair of shoes, it was easy to get injured like Harry, and moving around would be inconvenient.

In a life-and-death situation, a minor hindrance could be the key to winning or losing.

—If only the boots could shrink a bit.

Vid thought intuitively.

—What was that spell again? Reducio?

Just as the thought flickered through his mind, the boots in his hand shrank, becoming just the right size in the blink of an eye.

—Did it really work? But I haven’t even used a magic wand?

Vid was utterly surprised, vaguely realizing that before he shrank, he might indeed have been a very powerful wizard.

He quickly sorted through all the clothes, pulled out things from his pockets, pondering their use, when Harry poked his arm twice.

”What is it?” Vid turned his head and whispered.

Harry pointed toward the center of the courtyard, too shocked to speak.
