Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 789: Chapter 172: Secret Gathering

Draco rested his forehead against the cold stone wall, the night wind seeping into his open collar, his scarf dragging on the ground, covered in dust.

—Just like Malfoy’s pride, it had already become unrecognizable.

Draco could still put on a facade of indifference in front of others, but when alone, he buried his face in his hands, unable to stop himself from crying.

In the faint sobbing, a white ghost floated out of a toilet. She tilted her head, watching the quietly crying boy for a moment. The original excitement on her face vanished, and behind her thick glasses, her eyes were filled with sympathy and understanding.

Ghost Moaning Myrtle approached Draco, floating by his side, and gently asked, ”What’s wrong? Why are you crying? Is someone bullying you?”

Draco was startled by her voice, hurriedly wiping his tears, and shouted ferociously, ”Go away, Moaning Myrtle!”

”Don’t be like that.” Moaning Myrtle moved closer, softly saying, ”Tell me what happened? I can help you...”

”A ghost like you, what can you do to help me?” Draco sneered, ”Teach those bastards bullying me a lesson?”

”Of course, I can! I hate those who bully their classmates the most!”

Moaning Myrtle passed through the wall and came back, bragging, ”How would you like me to teach them a lesson? When they go to the toilet, how about splashing water all over them? Then everyone will think they wet their pants!”

Draco let out a gloomy snort, ”What kind of lesson is that? I want them to be a hundred times more miserable than me... I want them to die!”

”I understand, I do. There are some annoying people you wish would just disappear from the face of the earth forever.”

Moaning Myrtle nodded repeatedly, sighing, ”Unfortunately, neither you nor I have that ability...”

Before she finished speaking, suddenly, her eyes lit up.

”Oh right, I remember! I know some people who know such magic!”

”What kind of magic?” Draco asked, confused.

Moaning Myrtle playfully winked, ”Of course... terrifying Dark Magic!”

As she spoke, she lunged at Draco, making a grotesque face.

The boy was so frightened his heart stopped briefly, and his expression tensed, ”Dark Magic? Are you talking about those people from Durmstrang?”

”Tsk, tsk, tsk.”

Moaning Myrtle shook her finger, saying smugly, ”Of course not! They’re all Hogwarts students, and they’ve been at it for years, even without being discovered by Dumbledore!”

”Hogwarts has such a group? And they’ve kept it secret from Dumbledore?” Draco said skeptically, ”How do you know? You couldn’t have made it up, could you?”

”Of course, I know!”

Moaning Myrtle snorted, ”swooshed” back into and out of the toilet once more, emerging with only her upper body from the bowl, giggling as she said,

”You see, I often hide in here, eavesdropping on students’ secrets. I know far more than you think!”

Seeing the girl in the toilet, Draco’s skin crawled, and he couldn’t help but take a step back, wondering if he had ever divulged any unspeakable secrets in the bathroom.

In barely a decade of life, Draco Malfoy hadn’t yet gathered many burdens to keep in his heart. At this moment, the most vivid thing in his mind was the embarrassing image of himself secretly crying just now.

”Don’t tell anyone about what you just saw, Moaning Myrtle!” Draco hurriedly ordered.

Moaning Myrtle swooped out of the toilet, water splashing on the floor around it, and floated in front of Draco. Their faces were very close, one boy and one ghost.

The ghost reached out and touched the boy’s reddened eye corners, her fingers passing through his head.

”I won’t tell anyone!” Moaning Myrtle promised in a low voice, then excitedly added, ”So this is a secret just between the two of us?”

”...Yes.” Draco leaned back, nodding vigorously, ”Don’t tell anyone, take this secret to the grave.”

”Of course... I promise.” Moaning Myrtle suddenly turned a bit melancholic: ”I know why you don’t want others to know because I was once like you, sensitive, lonely, always bullied. Until later, I died...”

Seeing Moaning Myrtle about to burst into tears like her namesake, Draco hastily interrupted her, asking, ”By the way, who in the school is teaching Dark Magic?”

Moaning Myrtle sniffed, lifting her eyes to look at him, and asked, ”Do you want to know?”

”Of course!” Draco said without hesitation.

He had always longed for Dark Magic, once yearning to attend Durmstrang, but unfortunately, his mother, Narcissa, didn’t agree.

”Come with me.” Moaning Myrtle extended her hand, ”They’re having an event tonight, I can take you to see for yourself.”

Symbolically, Draco reached out to grasp Moaning Myrtle’s hand— only feeling a chill pass through his hand— then the ghost passed through the thick stone wall and disappeared.

Draco: ”...?”

A few seconds later, Moaning Myrtle suddenly emerged from the floor: ”Sorry, I forgot you can’t walk through walls. Wait, I’ll find you a way out...”

Before Draco could speak, she plunged into the toilet again, disappearing instantly.

Draco: ...

Even if there was a hole in the toilet, could he really slip through it?

...

”The cloak Mr. Grindelwald gave me?” Vid said, ”Of course, it’s still here, do you need it?”

”No, you need it,” Antoine said mysteriously, ”Put on that cloak, I’ll take you to an interesting place— I only found out after being around for so long, that Hogwarts has such fun activities.”
