Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 768: Chapter 154: Vid’s Money-Making Idea

Vid raised an eyebrow and smiled, ”Your information is really up-to-date. Illusion Gummies have only appeared a week ago.”

”Haha.” Machioni rubbed his hands excitedly and said, ”How many Animagus Wizards are there in the Magic World? This candy allows people to transform into various animal forms, and has sparked discussion as soon as it appeared. I just heard some news from a few friends.”

He glanced at Vid, and said with a hint of reproach, ”Vid, dear Vid, what is our relationship! You have such a good product, and it took me a whole week to find out?”

”That’s where you’re wrong.” Vid shook his head and laughed, ”Illusion Gummies are mainly the invention of Fred and George. Although I helped improve it a bit, it can’t be said to be ’my product’.”

”Fred and George?” Machioni’s eyes lit up, ”Looks like Hogwarts is about to see two outstanding Alchemists. I knew they had great potential! Where have those twins gone? I want to discuss sales channels with them...”

As he spoke, he craned his neck and looked toward the audience.

Gryffindor students were all wearing gold and red scarves, and some were donning lion-themed hats, making them very conspicuous.

Among them, the area around the red-haired twins was always the most bustling, and Machioni almost effortlessly found the brothers within the surging crowd.

He was about to head over when Vid said, ”I suggest you give up on your current plan.”

Machioni was taken aback, then realized something, and his smile froze on his face.

He turned his head, looking at Vid incredulously, lips trembling slightly, and after a long while, asked with a trembling voice:

”Who is the scoundrel that deceived the twins away? I don’t believe anyone can offer better conditions than me! If there is, he must be digging a hole to trick them! Don’t fall for it!”

That expression, that look, was like a lovesick woman staring at a unfaithful rogue.

Vid couldn’t help but laugh, ”You misunderstood, there’s no other partner... Fred and George just plan to make it the signature product of their joke shop.”

Machioni: ”...”

He felt a bit comforted, but more pessimistically realized—when personal interests conflict with youthful dreams, it’s hard to make them change their mind with words or enticements.

The possibility of obtaining the sales rights for Illusion Gummies became more remote.

As if missing out on a billion Golden Galleons, Machioni felt a clawing sadness, but when he saw Vid’s concerned gaze, his mood improved miraculously.

The Weasley Twins occasionally pop up with some ingenious ideas, but their playful nature and lack of diligence waste such good talents.

Vid, in front of him, is the true gold mine that can bring him continuous benefits.

And given Vid’s personality, he will only immerse himself in research and won’t venture into self-selling stores.

If he insists on persuading the twins to authorize Illusion Gummies for sale, he might not only fail but also strain his relationship with Vid.

Within seconds, Machioni’s mind turned over multiple times. After clarifying the benefit relationships, his pent-up anger subsided a bit, and his mouth twitched naturally a few times, finally producing a smile.

”Ah... So that’s it... It’s good that young people have dreams...”

Machioni, holding back his heartache, said, ”Where have they opened their shop? Maybe I can still offer some support...”

”Actually,” Vid laughed, ”their shop is still just a plan for now.”

”Alright, when they choose a location, be sure to contact me,” Machioni said, ”Those with no experience opening a shop for the first time can easily suffer losses.”

”Then I’ll thank you for them in advance,” Vid said.

Machioni couldn’t help but sigh, stepping closer, whispering, ”About that... Vid, it’s been half a year since the Daydream Quill, anything interesting you’ve invented recently?”

Seeing those bright, eager eyes, Vid couldn’t help but soften a bit, and strangely felt some guilt for not handing over Illusion Gummies.

He scanned the excited faces in the stands, and suddenly a thought popped into his mind.

”Though there’s no new invention, I did come up with a money-making idea...”

Machioni’s eyes immediately lit up as if hit by a Sunlight Charm, and he quickly asked, ”What is it? Your idea must be great, tell me!”

Vid rubbed his chin thoughtfully for a moment. Initially, it was just to comfort the despondent Machioni, but a sudden flash of inspiration emerged, and the more he thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

”I’ve always felt that the Magic World’s entertainment options are too few, Wizards are distant from one another, and after leaving school, even relatives and friends seldom gather together.”

Machioni nodded in agreement, though he felt it’s natural for adults to have distance, he didn’t object to Vid’s words.

Vid continued, ”The World Cup can gather hundreds of thousands of spectators, the Maze game’s popularity at Hogwarts, and people’s admiration for Flow Mirrors and Poppets, all are ways to make life more exciting.”

Magic’s self-sufficiency is powerful, most Wizards have little life pressure. Yet due to the Magic World’s closed nature and Wizards’ solitary habits, they lack entertainment and communication.

In other words, the Wizards are materially rich but spiritually poor, with few entertainment and leisure activities. So, once anything new appears, it instantly triggers a wave of excitement.

Ordinary people used to be like this too, but as society developed, various games mushroomed out like bamboo shoots after rain. The wisdom of billions of people has created countless interesting game designs.

Vid asked, ”Machioni, have you been to the Muggle amusement park?”

Machioni hesitated for a moment, then said, ”Of course, but those Ferris wheels, carousel, roller coasters and so on, feel quite boring.”

Riding a broom and flying around beats eighty percent of the amusement park attractions. Such places may be novel to Wizards on their first visit, but they rarely interest multiple experiences.

The Muggle’s large population provides their amusement parks with continuous foot traffic. But Machioni calculated, if building a Wizard-exclusive amusement park, it would absolutely be a losing project.

Vid shook his head and said, ”That’s because those excitement-inducing rides for Muggles are too ordinary for Wizards. The threshold for excitement is too high, thus ordinary thrills can’t bring joy.”

”At such times, either increase the level of stimulation or lower the individual’s capacity for endurance.”

Organizing his thoughts, and recalling Grindelwald’s cat that once threatened him, he slowly said, ”Machioni, would you be interested in developing a game called ’Little People Country Adventure’?”
