Omega Summoner

The grotesque death of the Ascendant Immortal horrified the others as he was easily killed without the enemy doing much. The blade was still lodged inside of Eldritch’ chest but he casually pulled it out and not a drop of blood could be seen from the wound. In fact, the hole that the sword created contracted a bit before it closed by itself. The wound that the Ascendant Immortal traded for his life closed in an instant as if nothing happened.

“He got damaged by that strike, but his body is no longer that of a human which is why you can no longer see him bleed.” Tai stated as he could clearly see that Eldritch’ health was decreased by 5%.

Tai could not believe that a strike like that could only deal 5% of a player’s health when the attack done by the Ascendant Immortal earlier could either kill or heavily injure another player. The only thing that Tai can deduce from this is the fact that Eldritch has a skill that reduces attacks that deal lethal damage or his body itself has become immune to lethal damage.

“If his body is no longer human then his acupoints are no longer the same which means any of my attacks that can disrupt mana will no longer work against him.” Tai muttered as he knew why Eldritch is now like this.

Tai was the very reason why Eldritch changed his body constitution as the latter saw it as a weakness. A person like Eldritch that has high pride and incredibly narcissistic will never let themselves be caught off guard the second time. This was the most extreme way that Eldritch could counter Tai, but the former was not a normal person to begin with. Eldritch has few screws loose but no one has ever seen him be unhinged before.

“I shall propose a very good deal for you if you want to enter that city there. Care to know my proposal?” Eldritch stated.

“What is it?!” One of the Ascendant Immortals asked.

“Do not listen to him! He is not to be trusted.” Tai stated but Eldritch looked amused but serious at the same time.

“Well, this proposal is for them specifically and not for you.” Eldritch stated as he looked at the other Ascendant Immortals.

“Tell us.” The Ascendant Immortals stated even though Tai glared at them.

“I will let all of you pass through, but you must abandon him here for me to fight. I have some bone to pick with him which is why this is really just between the both of us. All of you can be set free as long as he fights me. It is very simple, am I right?” Eldritch stated.

“Do not fall for his tricks! He would definitely kill all of you if all of you turn your backs on him.” Tai stated.

“What he says is correct. What makes you think that you can stand against all of us at the same time?” One of the Ascendant Immortals asked again.

“Ohoh! I do not care if you doubt me, but I guess even gods if they fall are no longer able to discern lies and truth. Fine… I shall mark my heart here and now as a vow in front of all of you. I, Eldritch, vow to not do anything to the others present except for Tai. Cross my heart and I will die if I break this oath.” Eldritch stated as his sharp finger then pierced his chest.

Eldritch’ finger then moved in a slanted direction, and it produced an odd and eerie glow. He then proceeded to do it in the other direction as well. The end result is a large cross shape on his chest that glowed with pure mana. This was a very real vow that even gods would never ignore as the being that does this will really die if they do not follow the end of the deal.

“Is this proof enough?” Eldritch asked which made the other Ascendant Immortals look at each other because they know that his vow is incredibly legitimate. Even they would not proceed with this vow as they know how powerful this binding vow is. This is a binding vow that even gods use to make sure that they do not move against another party.

“Tai… you should agree to his duel.” One of the Ascendant Immortals stated.

“I agree. His vow is legitimate, and it already pierced his soul.” Another Ascendant Immortal stated her opinion.

“But! Why are all of you not making a plan? We can easily take care of him.” Tai stated as he believed that they should be able to push through if they work together.

“This is not up for discussion, Tai. We only had you voice your opinion before because Chiyou treasures you as his disciple, but the mission must come first. We need to get a powerful artifact guarded by the Black Tortoise of the North at all costs. The others were already killed by him, and we can no longer waste any time just dealing with him.” The squad leader of the Ascendant Immortals which are fallen gods stated.

“Oh! Are you after that as well? My pet is already after the Black Tortoise of the North as well. Who knows… maybe my pet is already killing it as we speak.” Eldritch stated which alarmed all of the Ascendant Immortals.

“I… I accept. The mission must come first or else my master would be heartbroken as well.” Tai stated as he agreed begrudgingly.

“Good choice. We agree to the conditions.” The Squad leader stated as they all moved using qigong towards the city.

One of them even flew next to Eldritch to really test if he will not attack them. Just as Eldritch promised, Eldritch did not care as all of them pass through him. He already knew that they would be dead anyways if they enter that city. The pet that he was referring to is not something that even he could control and is only sent here to do its mission.

“Looks like all of your so-called comrades have abandoned you for their own goals. Do you even know why they are that desperate that they will sacrifice you?” Eldritch stated as he taunted Tai.

“I do not need to listen to you. The quicker that I finish you off then the faster I can help them.” Tai stated which made Eldritch amused because the latter could actually see that the former was blind to the entire truth.

“You actually do not know?” Eldritch stated but Tai was in no mood to answer him.

Tai cannot just escape from here and let Eldritch be because the latter would just hunt the others down. If Tai does not do his end of the bargain, then Eldritch will also be entitled to slaughter the others. Bloodlust could be felt emanating from Tai’s entire body as he was incredibly determined to kill Eldritch. Just as he was about to land a hit on Eldritch, a Malevolent Tree suddenly stood in his way, and it was destroyed instead of Eldritch being damaged.

“This is suddenly getting incredibly interesting from my point of view. Are you blind to the truth, dumb, or intentionally closing your eyes? I can clearly see that all of them were using you because they had smiles and eyes full of greed when they flew pass me earlier.” Eldritch stated as he appeared at the other end of his casted shadow.

“Fang of the White Tiger!” Tai shouted as his fists became enveloped in a powerful aura, and he punched the air in front of him.

A powerful blast of metal energy came out of Tai’s fists that destroyed any Malevolent Tree before him. This blast of metal energy is aimed directly at Eldritch and would be a problem for an ordinary player. Eldritch laughed as he was amused because he could already deduce his answer from his interaction with Tai is. Eldritch used his malevolent thorns to create a barrier that diffused the blast of metal energy that came from Tai.

“If you answer me then I might give you a clue on the pet that I bring. Do you agree with my offer? Cross my heart.” Eldritch stated as he pointed at his glowing cross mark on the chest. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ NoveI★Fire.net

“I will never succumb to your schemes. I have been trained by my master to be resilient to inner demons!” Tai shouted as his aura changed even more as his oni mask started to grow longer horns.

“I see. I guess a fool that does not want to accept the truth is always stubborn. This suddenly became boring because you became boring to me. The fact that you let them sandbag you because of some sentimentality is boring me to death. I should at least have my fun beating you to death for my petty revenge.” Eldritch stated as he suddenly started to morph to a more beasty appearance as well.
