The condition of his car looked terrible, and even the individual before him couldn’t help but pity. He was pained to look at the condition of the beautiful vehicle before him.

Hiro nodded dejectedly.

“You’ll have to head to the service center afterward. The road ahead is a little bumpy, but it’s still drivable,” the person said politely.

After that, they got inside the car. On their way, Hiro learned about the identity of the individual seated next to him.

From their conversation, he learned this individual was a cameraman. His name was Theo. However, he didn’t reveal the name of the reporter with whom he was working with that day.

Whenever Hiro inquired about the reporter, Theo smiled and said, “You’ll know once you meet him.” This further fueled his curiosity.

However, Hiro knew he wouldn’t get anything out of him. Hence, he stopped inquiring after a few unsuccessful tries.

It didn’t take long for a village to enter his sight.

The silhouette of the houses blended perfectly with the cotton-candy-like clouds behind them. Looking from a distance, the village looked right next to clouds.

The highest structure in the village looked like an ancient clock tower.

Even from a distance, Hiro could spot the design of the houses clearly. They looked like medieval-styled houses made up of stones and timbers. Their roofing consisted of tiles, most of which were red in color.

Most of the houses looked quite similar, making it hard to discern.

He could also spot a few churches.

“Is this where we are heading to?” Hiro asked.

“Yes,” Theo nodded. “It looks silent from here, but the village is quite bustling.”

“I still can’t understand why the interview is being held here. Is there any reason for it to be held here precisely?” Hiro couldn’t help but ask.

Though he liked the scenery, he still couldn’t help but feel curious about the location. At this moment, when he was short on time, what was the reason for the interview to be held here?

The Spanish Cup final was nearing, and he wanted to dedicate his time and focus to the match. It was his chance to get a hand on a trophy in Europe.

If it weren’t for Ishikawa, he wouldn’t have paid any heed to such incidents.

Theo smiled awkwardly like he remembered something bothersome, “Haha… Well, he’s a rather unusual person.”

Hiro figured that it was due to one individual’s preference. This pulled a nerve.

Shortly after, they arrived at their location.

“We’re conducting the interview here?” Hiro asked, a little baffled by the location.

The place where they were supposed to take the interview was a field. On the pitch, he could spot a lot of kids playing football.

Theo nodded his head and led the way.

Hiro followed him diligently, keeping a vigilant eye over his surroundings. He didn’t want to be spotted here. He feared the reporters who kept vigilant surveillance over him.

Hence, he couldn’t help but feel anxious.

He warily looked around him. He could spot a few adults. However, most of them didn’t seem to take notice of him. They were immersed in the match of the children taking place before them.

Soon, they arrived before a tall individual.

He was passionately barking commands at the children. However, Hiro couldn’t see his face properly since he was facing away from him.

But for some reason, this giant of an individual felt rather familiar.

“Elias, he’s here,” Theo whispered in his ear.

Elias turned around to face Hiro with a smile. The moment he turned around, Hiro immediately recognized him. Hiro was left baffled for a moment.

“Hello, Hiro. I’m Elias. We’ve met before, haven’t we?” Elias said, beaming a charming smile on his face. Just like during the press conference, he oozed confidence.

He had a distinct flair that separated him from the masses.

Especially the round black sunglasses he wore.

Hiro took his hand and said, “Nice to meet you, sir. I didn’t think I’d be meeting you today.”

“But I had already expected it to happen,” Elias said confidently.

His tone was rather amicable, and he had an aura of happiness around him.

“From the moment you piqued my interest, I had been looking forward to this interview,” Elias continued.

“But…”

Before Hiro could even complete his sentence, Elias interjected.

“I know about your trouble. Don’t worry; we’ll settle that issue too. But before that, why don’t you tell me about your journey to Europe?”

Elias was a smooth talker. It seemed like words came to him naturally. He controlled the flow of the conversation. He could even sense the fluctuation in people’s moods.

He also seemed quite interested in Hiro.

They conversed for a while. Hiro shared his experiences. The upbringing and the hardships he had endured along the way, he shared them with Elias.

Elias ardently listened to him while also keeping the conversation’s flow smooth.

“I know it’s tough handling the media. But you shouldn’t treat them as nonexistent,” Elias suggested after hearing his rifts with the media. Elias learned from Hiro that part of the reason why he didn’t like reporters was because of the incident with his father.

“You had it tough, for sure. But the more you ignore them, the more they’ll come after you. After such an incident, it’s hard to trust. But still, great players also need the skill to handle the media. The more you ignore them, the more difficult it will get for you.”

“Like flowers attracting bees. It’s inevitable for great talent to attract people’s attention,” Elias paused to look at the pitch.

The game was still progressing smoothly.

While they were conversing, some goals had been scored. Every time such an opportunity to score goals would present, Elias would turn to the pitch.

“However, avoiding them would do more harm than good. The battle inside the pitch is important, but the fight outside the pitch is equally important. You can’t expect to be great without excelling in both aspects.”

“Whether you like it or not, you have to fight these battles.”
