The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 979: Chapter 999: Could It Be That You’ve Fallen for That Person?

No... he shouldn’t be jealous over a dead man.

Situ Yan is already dead, everything about them has ended.

He took her hand again, ”Xiaonuan, I’ve said before, any man who dares to mess with Nangong Yaoling’s woman must die. Besides, Situ Yan tried to steal the Tear of Diamond and attempted to kill me! So, if he hadn’t died, the one eventually dead would have been me.”

Xia Xiaonuan’s heart trembled violently.

She looked at Nangong Yaoling, feeling the blood rushing through her entire body.

Situ Yan... is really dead.

Though she had no love for Situ Yan, she really didn’t want him to just die like this.

She bit her lower lip.

And Nangong Yaoling’s words struck her heart similarly hard.

Any man who dares to mess with Nangong Yaoling’s woman must die.

Absolutely resolute, absolutely murderous.

This is Nangong Yaoling, cold-blooded and ruthless. He never shows mercy to his enemies.

Xia Xiaonuan stood frozen there, as if she was fixed in place.

Nangong Yaoling reached out his hand, gripping her chin.

”Xiaonuan... you wouldn’t happen to be in love with that man, would you?” He asked her with a trace of pain in his gaze.

Xia Xiaonuan looked at Nangong Yaoling.

Shook her head.

”Nangong Yaoling, though I have no feelings for him, he did save me before...”

”But you also saved him! You’ve already squared things off!” Nangong Yaoling said loudly.

Thinking back to when Situ Yan sneaked into Nangong Villa, Xia Xiaonuan saved his life.

She even stole away the antidote for him, which ignited Nangong Yaoling’s anger once more.

”Yes...” Xia Xiaonuan didn’t want to explain further; how could the relationship between her and Situ Yan be explained in just a few words?

When she was kidnapped by Prince Mutaha, Situ Yan rescued her; when she and Nangong Feihong were threatened by a knife-wielding driver in Karachi, it was Situ Yan who stepped in to save them; when those people tried to assault her, Situ Yan fought desperately to protect her...

Then when she fainted due to pregnancy at the hotel... Then the airport...

Although she didn’t spend much time with Situ Yan, each time seemed to be him protecting her from danger.

And unfortunately... she never gave him anything.

No promises, not even more smiles, only rejection and escape.

If there had to be something, perhaps it was that one time when he thought she was carrying his child, only to be left with an empty joy.

Xia Xiaonuan closed her eyes.

Situ Yan... she’s sorry for him!

Maybe, from the beginning, their meeting was destined to be a mistake!

Xia Xiaonuan shook her head bitterly.

Nangong Yaoling reached out his hand, fingertips gliding across her face, his slender fingers trembling slightly.

”Xia Xiaonuan... you’re crying.” His voice was equally shocked and pained.

Xia Xiaonuan quickly reached out her hand to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.

”After all... he was once my friend...” Xia Xiaonuan looked at Nangong Yaoling, meeting his skeptical gaze.

”You two were friends?” Nangong Yaoling’s fingertips gradually fell, lifting her chin.

”Xiaonuan... I ask you, if this time, it was me who died, would you be equally sad? Would you cry for me?” Nangong Yaoling asked deeply, gazing into her eyes.

Xia Xiaonuan’s entire body trembled.

If this time it was Nangong Yaoling who died...

No, she dared not think further.

If it were Nangong Yaoling who died, she truly wouldn’t know how she would cope.
