The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 387: Chapter 389: Want to Be a Crab or a Sea Shellfish

She couldn’t help but feel awkward, gave a dry laugh towards the man, and raised her hand: ”Look at this.”

Situ Yan glanced at the little thing in her hand, the corner of his mouth twitching: ”A crab that ate the shellfish and then took over its house.”

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

Her face darkened: ”Why do you have to make it sound so bloody? It’s obviously a cute little hermit crab!”

Xiaonuan reached out and pointed. One of the little crab’s tiny pincers was sticking out because the shell was too small, and it couldn’t get the pincer inside, just anxiously moving it around outside.

Xia Xiaonuan couldn’t help but giggle.

”But I’m telling the truth, it’s just a crab that ate the shell and then took over its house...” a serious voice sounded from beside her.

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

She felt like smacking the man beside her!

Xia Xiaonuan raised an eyebrow, looked up, and gave Situ Yan a disdainful glance, concluding: ”You are really boring!”

Situ Yan: ”...”

Alright, this man who had been tough and practicing martial arts since childhood really couldn’t understand these little girly tricks.

It was clearly a crab that ate the shell and took over the house, but she insisted it was cute...

However, looking at the girl’s innocent and excited face, his thin lips couldn’t help but twitch slightly.

In his eyes, there was a flicker of a hardly noticeable smile.

Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes sparkled as she studied the crab for a while and then looked at the poker face beside her, losing interest. She placed the cute little hermit crab on the wet beach and covered it with sand.

Just now, she had accidentally stepped on it and discovered the little guy.

”Maybe it was forced to live in the shell, maybe it was injured, or maybe it was washed ashore by the waves. There are so many things in this world that we can’t help. It’s also possible... it didn’t want to be a crab at all, it was actually a shellfish that inexplicably turned into a crab!”

Xia Xiaonuan gazed somewhat dazedly at the sandy mound on the beach.

”You’re quite amusing.” A voice that sounded half-mocking, half-serious came from beside her.

Xia Xiaonuan looked up and met Situ Yan’s gaze.

His dark pupils were deep as he intensely watched her, asking: ”If it were you, would you want to be a crab or a shellfish? Did you turn from a shellfish into a crab, or were you always a shellfish that just ended up wearing a crab’s exterior?”

His question left Xia Xiaonuan slightly stunned.

She averted her gaze uncomfortably and said: ”I don’t understand what you’re talking about...”

After speaking, she hurriedly turned around: ”Let’s go back!”

She didn’t understand why Situ Yan suddenly asked such a question. Could it be that he knew something?

Oh right... She did seem to have said some things she shouldn’t have while drinking last night.

Xia Xiaonuan clutched her chest with her hand.

Oh no, if Situ Yan knew her secret, would he see her as a freak? Would he become a threat to her?

After all, she hadn’t completely trusted this man yet!

Feeling uneasy, her heart began to race.

Fortunately, he didn’t press the matter, only asking by her ear: ”What’s wrong? Not playing anymore?”

”I... I’m hungry.”

”...You ate so much last night, and now you’re hungry again?” Situ Yan’s face darkened.

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

”Last night was last night, it was already a night ago...”

”Or are you in a hurry to see Nangong Yaoling?”

”No—!” Xia Xiaonuan turned her head and glared at him, loudly retorting: ”You’re so naggy!”

After speaking, she couldn’t be bothered with him and strode towards his car.

Situ Yan watched the girl’s departing figure, the corners of his lips uncontrollably curving upwards.
