Chapter 136: Chapter 136: The Ferocious Alice

Among the five men charging them, the leader, a six-foot-three giant, brandished an iron pipe, about to bring it crashing down on Ye Xing.

Suddenly, he saw the hot, beautiful woman next to Ye Xing charge forward with incredible ferocity. ’Wait, why aren’t these two scared? Why aren’t they running?’ He was so stunned that for a moment, he couldn’t react.

In that instant, Alice unleashed a vicious kick to the groin, her leg shooting upward with incredible speed.

”BANG!”

The stiletto heel slammed squarely into the man’s crotch, a direct hit to his vitals that instantly dealt ten thousand points of critical damage.

”AHHH!”

In that instant, a squeal like a pig at slaughter tore through the night, utterly horrifying. The giant’s face twisted in agony. The iron pipe in his hand fell to the ground with a CLANG. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead as he clutched his groin, howling in pain and collapsing to the ground, convulsing.

”Get her... get her... beat that... owww... that damn bitch to death for me... It’s killing me!” the giant rasped, his eyes glaring at Alice with pure venom.

The giant’s four cronies immediately swung their iron pipes at Alice.

”Hmph, a bunch of trash like you dare to mess with me?” Alice cursed, pulling off her high heels. With an agile movement, she sidestepped a thug’s pipe, then swung a high heel and smashed it right into his face.

CRACK! The heel landed squarely on the thug’s nose. Instantly, blood gushed out, splattering all over the ground.

Seeing two of their five-man crew taken down by a single woman, the remaining three thugs howled in fury and were about to attack together.

Just then, airport police in the distance noticed the commotion and several officers began running over.

”Go... hurry up and go... We’re screwed if the cops catch us... Owww... It’s killing me!” The giant clutched his groin, stumbling and shaking as he made a pathetic escape.

The other four thugs quickly threw down their iron pipes and fled.

”Tch, gutless bastards! I wasn’t even done with you!” Alice said with a look of contempt, hurling her high heel at the backs of the fleeing thugs.

Ye Xing watched, dumbfounded. He never expected this stunningly beautiful woman to be so ferocious. Judging from Alice’s agile movements, he could tell she had definitely trained in some form of combat. Her skill level was far from low—in fact, for an ordinary person, it was exceptionally high.

”So? You weren’t too scared, were you? No need to worry, I’ll protect you! Those thugs have no professional training. They may look big and brawny, but a girl like me can take on five of them at once!” Alice declared smugly, tilting her head back proudly, like a hen that had just won a great victory.

”Yes, very impressive!” Ye Xing said, giving her a thumbs-up. ”I had no idea our Alice was so incredible! A true heroine, proving women are every bit as capable as men!”

”Huh? Oh, it was nothing!” Alice blushed, a little embarrassed by Ye Xing’s praise. ”You’ve just never seen a true expert, Ye Xing. The top-tier fighters in the black market circuit can each take on ten opponents. Every Demon King pushes the very limits of human combat—they’re total freaks of nature. Tonight’s Demon King Competition is going to be absolutely explosive. Are you sure you’re not going? Please come watch with me! It’ll be incredible!”

Ye Xing rolled his eyes in exasperation. She had already tried to convince him to go to the Demon King Competition with her several times on the plane.

”Sir, Miss, excuse me, what just happened here?” At that moment, the airport police officers arrived and asked Ye Xing and Alice.

”Oh, it was nothing. Just a few thugs. We already chased them off!” Alice said, waving her hand dismissively.

The officers quickly checked the scene and, seeing no serious problems, asked Ye Xing and Alice a few more questions before departing.

”Let’s go. I think there are more cars over there; it should be easier to hail a cab,” Ye Xing said, then suddenly noticed Alice staring at him with a pitiful expression.

”Uh, what’s wrong?”

”I don’t have any shoes to wear! Ye Xing, can you go to a supermarket and buy me a pair? Please?” Alice asked.

In the heat of the fight, she’d gone through both her high heels. One had flown off to who-knows-where, and the heel of the other was now bent. She was standing on her fair, bare feet.

Ye Xing couldn’t help but chuckle as he looked at Alice. ’This foreign girl is actually pretty cute,’ he thought. ”Haha, well, that’s what you get for being so ferocious. Here, I happen to have a spare pair of shoes in my bag. You can wear these for now.” With that, Ye Xing unzipped his backpack, reached inside, and pulled out a pair of cloth shoes to hand to her.

”Are these your shoes, Ye Xing? They’re so ugly. Don’t you have a prettier pair for me?” Alice asked, looking at the cloth shoes with an expression of disdain.

”This is the only pair I have. Take it or leave it. If you don’t want them, I’ll put them away,” Ye Xing said, rolling his eyes.

”Fine, I’ll take them!” Alice pouted, muttering to herself, ’I guess any shoes are better than no shoes! I’ll lower myself to wearing them, just this once. Hmph.’

The two of them hailed a taxi at the next intersection and headed toward Bronkson.

New York, the most prosperous city in America and the economic center of the world. Skyscrapers pierced the sky, neon lights flickered, and the streets teemed with people and cars—a picture of endless prosperity.

RING RING RING... ”You are my little, little apple...”

In the cab, Ye Xing’s phone suddenly rang. He pulled it from his pocket, swiped the screen, and answered the call.

”Hello! Mr. Ye Xing, I presume? This is Frank Prit. Where are you now?” The voice of a middle-aged man with a heavy American accent came through the phone.

”Ah, Mr. Frank. I’ve arrived in New York. I’m in a cab right now and should be reaching Bronkson soon,” Ye Xing replied.

”Great. I’ll wait for you at the Starbucks Coffee Shop then!”

After exchanging a few more words and confirming the location, Ye Xing hung up the phone.

About ten minutes later, the taxi finally arrived near the Starbucks Coffee Shop on Zanming Road in Bronkson.

”Ye Xing, are you really not going to come watch the competition with me? You’ll totally regret it if you miss it!” Alice chimed in, making one last attempt to persuade him.

”Ugh, I have to take care of my business first. Maybe I’ll go if I have time later,” Ye Xing said dismissively. ’A black market boxing competition? He had absolutely zero interest. If it were a duel between Innate Realm masters, Ye Xing would rush over in a heartbeat. But a black market fight? It might seem intense and exciting to ordinary people, but to someone at his level of cultivation in the Martial Arts Third Realm, the brawls of those boxers would be like child’s play. He’d have to be bored out of his mind to watch a competition like that.’
