Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Two months passed in the blink of an eye. On this day, the purple firmament had just risen, and dawn light poured forth in ten thousand rays.

Across the entire Ye Family plaza, the massive sacrificial cauldron was packed full of sandalwood smoke sticks.

As the smoke rose into the void, it turned into coils of smoke dragons, circling above without dispersing.

The cultivator race people on the plaza were solemn to the extreme.

Ye Xuefan stepped forward and began the prayer. Only after the prayer was finished did he look toward Ye Xueliang, Ye Xingxiao, Ye Jing Hu, Ye Haiyu, and the others.

”Jing Hu, Haiyu, let’s begin!”

Right now, there were still as many as a hundred and eighty people standing before them.

These people were precisely those participating in the Talisman Conference grand competition.

The rewards for this Talisman Conference trial were unusually generous, so almost everyone who could come had come.

The content of the trial was also very simple: the clan would provide three sets of materials, and they would inscribe Spirit Talismans.

The number of talismans successfully formed, the tier, and the state of their Spiritual Light would all serve as grounds for evaluation.

The ones judging were exactly these few Golden Core Purple Mansion elders, plus Ye Haiyu, this Spirit Talisman Master.

”Everyone, just find a spot on the plaza and start Refining Talismans directly!” Seeing this, Ye Haiyu spoke to everyone.

Talisman Making, unlike Alchemy and Artifact Refining, requires Earth Fire, Pill Furnace, Artifact Furnace.

Talisman Making only needs a Talisman Pen, Spiritual Ink, Talisman Paper, and a table.

At this moment, Ye Haiyu also arranged for clan members to bring up tables, and then fetched some sound-isolating Arrays to prevent them from being affected by each other’s noises.

But these Arrays would not block the view.

This was also so that the others could all see each other’s talisman strokes, thereby raising their Talisman Skill.

The first purpose of the Talisman Conference was so that the inheritance of the Talisman Desolate could be quickly absorbed by the Ye Family.

Secondly, it was to improve the Ye Family’s overall level in Talisman Making, so naturally they could not let everyone craft talismans in secrecy.

Moreover, the time given for Refining Talismans was quite ample. Many people could afford to watch for a while before starting to refine; likewise, many after finishing could still have time to observe others.

With Ye Haiyu announcing the start, everyone took out their Talisman Pens and ground their Spiritual Ink. No one relaxed just because the grand competition’s rules were simple.

Some took a risk and refined higher-tier Spirit Talismans; others proceeded steadily, choosing the talismans they were most practiced at, aiming to have the fullest Spiritual Light and the greatest number of completed talismans.

Still others did not refine Spirit Talismans right away, but instead watched the other cultivator race people, planning to choose after seeing clearly, then refine corresponding talismans, achieving the effect of knowing both self and opponent.

And among those refining Spirit Talismans, the outstanding ones were quickly noticed by the rest of the clan, drawing quite a crowd of onlookers.

”Jing Ting should be at least top two among the younger Foundation Establishment generation, and Yun Xuan should be first among the younger Qi Refining generation...” Ye Xuefan glanced over and already had the answer in his heart.

Ye Jingtting took out Tier Two Top-Grade Spiritual Blood and refined precisely the Earth Spike Tier Two Top-Grade Spirit Talisman.

Ye Yunxuan, on the other hand, was refining a Tier Two Lower Grade Celestial Flame Fire Snake Spirit Talisman.

Their movements were exceptionally skillful; grinding ink, starting the stroke—everything flowed with perfect ease.

Clearly this was not their first time refining these talismans.

As time flowed on, before long the Spirit Talismans refined by the clan members were all submitted.

Tier One Spirit Talismans, Tier Two Spirit Talismans—the quantity and grade could be seen at a glance.

Ye Xuefan, Ye Xueliang, Ye Jing Hu, and the others judged them on the spot.

This made the clan members inevitably tense to the extreme.

If the results were announced after a few days, they would have time to mentally prepare. Announcing them now left them with nothing but nerves.

Of course, some were supremely confident; they watched the high platform with expectation.

...

”Alright, the results are out!”

”The top three Foundation Establishment among the younger generation are, in order: Ye Jingtting, Ye Qingxin, Ye Qingmeng!” Ye Xuefan announced.

What surprised him somewhat was that he discovered that among the younger Foundation Establishment talisman refiners’ top three, there were actually two female clan members.

”The top three Qi Refining among the younger generation are, in order: Ye Yunxuan, Ye Yunhe, Ye Yunxiang!”

Ye Xuefan continued speaking, and he also handed each of these six a special Jade Token.

This Jade Token served as proof of this honor; they would also be going to the Ye Family Treasure Tower to undergo further physical talisman testing of the Celestial Talisman Profound Body Secret Manual.

After announcing the younger generation’s rankings, Ye Xuefan began to announce the rankings of the older generation.

Because these clan members were older, it was somewhat too late for them to change their Cultivation Technique, but their insight into Spirit Talismans was still worthy of the clan’s encouragement.

The rewards were also issued on the spot.

Among them were Talisman Formulas of Tier Three Spirit Talismans, as well as increases to their Clan Allowance. The top ten could also receive future supplies of Spirit Talisman materials from the clan.

”Haiyu, Jing Hu, arrange for the clan members to go to the clan’s Treasure Tower!” Ye Xuefan said.

Although many clan members were still somewhat reluctant for the Talisman Conference to end, the grand competition was already over; they could look forward to the future clan gatherings.

And for them, quickly testing which Ye Family members could cultivate the Celestial Talisman Profound Body Secret Manual was most important.

After all, according to the Spiritual Scripture’s description, if it succeeded, this would be equivalent to postnatally creating a Spirit Body.

Even if this Spirit Body was somewhat different.

But different paths lead to the same destination; all were roads on the Immortal Dao.

Ye Xuefan and the others all headed toward the clan’s Treasure Tower.

Since the six clan members this time all carried Ye Family bloodline, the six of them were extremely curious. The last time things had been this mysterious was during the Beast Communication Pattern awakening.

Yet they knew clearly that there could not possibly be a second Beast Communication Pattern awakening ceremony now.

”Granny Jing Ting, your Talisman Making Skill is just too incredible now!” Ye Yunxuan, while making talismans, had clearly seen Ye Jingtting’s Talisman Making.

Thus he spoke with deep envy.

”You’re the incredible one—just over twenty, not even at Foundation Establishment yet, and you can already refine Tier Two Spirit Talismans!” Looking at Ye Yunxuan’s earnest expression, Ye Jingtting couldn’t help but smile.

”By the time you reach Granny’s age, you’ll probably be able to refine Tier Three Spirit Talismans!”

Hearing this, Ye Yunxuan couldn’t help but scratch his head and smile.

”Granny praises me too highly, but that is Yun Xuan’s goal.”

As they chatted, the group arrived at the clan’s Treasure Tower.

Nowadays the clan’s Treasure Tower had a full five layers, corresponding exactly to Tier One through Tier Five.

Following behind Ye Xuefan, Ye Xueliang, Ye Jing Hu, and Ye Haiyu, their faces grew even more curious.

Because from the first layer, they were, for the first time, going up to the fifth layer.

The fifth-layer rooms were more exquisite and elegant, and Arrays covered every surface. Very soon, the six of them arrived at a tightly sealed secret chamber.

”From here on, the six of you must remember: everything you see today cannot be spoken of to anyone, just like with the Beast Communication Pattern!” Once they entered the secret chamber, Ye Xuefan began sternly reminding the six.

This Celestial Talisman Profound Body Secret Manual could postnatally create a Spirit Body. If news of it spread, it might very well bring trouble upon the Ye Family.

Of course, the probability was small, but the Ye Family had to guard against it.

After his reminder, Ye Xuefan handed each of them a Jade Talisman.

”This is...” After looking it over, all six were extremely puzzled.

Because this time, the Talisman Formula was not to be copied onto Talisman Paper, but to be copied onto their own arm.

They had never heard of such a requirement.

”All of you, give it a try. If anything goes wrong, I will protect you. If nothing goes wrong, you will have stumbled upon an immense heavenly opportunity!” Ye Xuefan said.

Copying Spirit Talismans onto the flesh, naturally, was wondrous beyond compare, and also extremely perilous.

But with Ye Xuefan’s Golden Core Cultivation, he could sense any anomaly in time and take emergency measures for them.

”Alright!” Ye Jingtting was the first to nod.

She dearly wished to become one of the clan’s most core members, so she would not let any opportunity slip by.

As she picked up the Talisman Pen and began copying, the other clan members likewise followed suit.
