Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 962: Chapter 671: Fire Peak, Fire Rock Bird

Zhao Kingdom, Xin’an Commandery.

A Spiritual Ship quietly entered the mountains.

Here, the landscape is renowned for its towering peaks and serene, secluded valleys.

The long mountain range is also known as the New Spirit Ridge.

Deep within the ridge lies the New Spirit Hu Family.

It is also one of the three Great Purple Mansion Clans of Xin’an Commandery.

On the Spiritual Ship, five people stood together, gazing at the surrounding peaks and clouds.

These people were Ye Jingyun, Chu Yanqing, and others, but all five had taken Bone Transformation Pills to change their appearances.

“This is Hu Family’s territory, remember not to recklessly scan with Divine Sense!” Ye Jingyun, now a middle-aged man with a bushy beard, spoke with implication, and at his side, Chu Yanqing immediately understood. Her eyes began to emit starlight and looked around.

Xin’an Commandery is about the same size as Yan Kingdom’s Taiqing Commandery, with a Golden Core Clan, the Ling Family, and the Jia Family, Hu Family, and Yu Family as the three Great Purple Mansion Clans.

In addition to these, there are six Foundation Establishment Clans.

However, these six clans have virtually no voice in Xin’an Commandery, relying on vassalage to the Purple Mansion and Golden Core Clans, or backing in the Medicine King Valley.

In this respect, Zhao Kingdom’s power is significantly stronger than that of Yan Kingdom.

“The Hu Family specializes in Spirit Medicine cultivation and has many Alchemy Masters within. They are also highly skilled in training Demon Beasts!” Ye Jingyun continued explaining.

The Spiritual Ship continued to fly onward.

However, its speed slowed, its altitude lowered, and the ship transformed from a Tier Three Spiritual Ship into a new, more generic Tier Two Spiritual Ship.

Even their chosen flight path was carefully selected.

This time, the Ye Family investigated the three Purple Mansion Clans and six Foundation Establishment Clans.

The Golden Core Clans are nearly impossible, especially since the Ling Family is an old established Golden Core Clan.

In this investigation, besides Chu Yanqing’s Star Illusion Eye, the other two also cultivated Pupil Skills.

Most of these Pupil Skills were made into Magical Artifacts from the Spiritual Eyes of Demon Beasts.

For example, Ye Xinghan’s Clear Spirit Spiritual Eye is made from the eye of a Clear Spirit Spirit Rat.

While Ye Jinghong’s Profound Sparrow Spiritual Eye comes from a Profound Cloud Sparrow’s eye.

However, these two Spiritual Eyes are far inferior to the Star Illusion Eye.

As the Spiritual Ship circled through the mountains, Ye Xinghan and Ye Jinghong shook their heads.

They then looked at Chu Yanqing, who also shook her head.

“The clan mountain over there should be Hu Family’s New Spirit Peak, truly mysterious and profound!”

“That is natural; the Hu Family is an old Purple Mansion Clan, with deep foundations!” Ye Jingyun remarked, as if complimenting Chu Yanqing.

In fact, he was telling Chu Yanqing that the Hu Family was unlikely.

The original Teleportation Array should be within Zhang Family Peak in Shanling Commandery.

But it was clearly relocated later.

Thus, it’s unlikely for old established families, and more likely for newly-rising families.

And they generally wouldn’t place it on the clan mountain.

For instance, the Ye Family placed their Teleportation Array in Earth Dragon Valley, not on Lingyun Peak.

Lingyun Peak is the main peak, inevitably visited by sects and high-tier cultivators.

A Teleportation Array, which Nascent Soul cultivators can refine, can generally be sensed by those high-tier cultivators.

The Spiritual Ship continued to traverse within Xin’an Commandery.

Their appearance was that of loose cultivators, and searching for treasures among mountain ridges was not unusual.

This way, after another month, Ye Jingyun investigated several families, such as the Purple Jade Valley Family and the Golden Cloud Yu Family, with no significant findings throughout.

Although they sensed some secrets in a few mountains, these secrets were minor and easily investigated.

But on this day, the front of the Spiritual Ship revealed a series of volcanic peaks.

The vegetation on these peaks became sparse, with intense Fire Veins and significantly higher temperatures.

“This is Zhu Hong Peak, and further ahead is the Jia Family’s territory,” Ye Jingyun spoke, with apprehension in his eyes.

Seeing this, Chu Yanqing was also a bit curious.

Because the Ye Family now collaborates with the Jia Family, and the Jia Family has been quite generous.

In business dealings with the Ye Family, they consistently provide some benefits.

But Ye Jingyun’s current demeanor was unusual.

“The Wood Demon was sensed near Zhurong Peak, but contracting a Wood Demon differs from a Contracted Spirit Beast. The Cultivation Realm currently doesn’t have a good way to contract Wood Demons, so it was suspected that all families in Xin’an Commandery might be involved!” This time, Ye Jingyun spoke softly, and as soon as he finished, Chu Yanqing was slightly taken aback.

Seeing this, Ye Jingyun shortly after communicated again: “If Sister-in-law doesn’t want to get involved, we understand. You can just say so, and wait here for a few days.”

The Chu Family was annexed by the Jin Family back then, so Ye Jingyun was concerned that Chu Yanqing might not want to get involved, especially since the Ye Family is now negotiating with the Zhang Family, similarly entailing family disputes.

In his eyes, Chu Yanqing is someone who prefers a secluded and peaceful life.

Normally, someone whose clan was exterminated would either secretly gather strength to avenge or assist the family in revival.

Yet, Chu Yanqing showed none of these traits, appearing weary of family conflicts, merely wanting to refine artifacts, cultivate, and focus on domestic life.

The reason for bringing Chu Yanqing was due to necessity.

As there was no one on Lingyun Peak more suitable than Chu Yanqing.

“Why, Brother Jiu! Since I married Brother Cheng today, I am naturally one of the Ye Family. Does Brother Jiu doubt that the Chu Family lacked clan studies, unable to teach righteousness and discern right from wrong?” Chu Yanqing hastily communicated.

The tone carried some anger.

“Of course not, sister-in-law, it was our fault for thinking so. When Jingcheng returns, Jing Yun will definitely visit to apologize!” Ye Jingyun replied repeatedly.

Naturally, though the Transmission was like this, his expression was still somewhat joyful.

He took out another Spirit Beast Bag, and from it emerged a Fire Rock Bird.

This Fire Rock Bird was tagged with Spirit Talismans, its bright pupils full of anger. It was evidently a Tier Two Firebird caught alive and fed a Forget Dust Pill.

The scene also piqued Chu Yanqing’s curiosity slightly.

But immediately, Ye Jingyun let the Firebird fly, and suddenly, the bird moved everywhere, surpassing Zhu Hong Peak, heading towards Jia Family’s territory.

“Follow it, don’t let this bird of extraordinary bloodline escape!” Ye Jingyun shouted roughly, and a few people boarded the Spiritual Ship in close pursuit.

The Spiritual Ship’s speed was not fast, being slightly slower than the Firebird.

Ye Jingyun even took out a Spirit Talisman to accelerate the Spiritual Ship.

Meanwhile, the Fire Flame Bird occasionally spat out a huge Fire Rock Ball, bombarding them.

This slowed their speed considerably, forcing them to take out Magical Artifacts for defense.

Thus, the Spiritual Ship continued advancing through a region with Fire Veins, traveling quite far.

Above the Spiritual Ship, Chu Yanqing fell to the rear, her mind recalling the key places given by Ye Jingyun upon departure.

Then, when passing by one of the Fire Peaks, Chu Yanqing felt the Star Illusion Eye becoming faintly blurred.

This only happens when there is a High-tier Array.

It also indicated that Fire Peak had a High-tier Array, and while surveying the surroundings of Fire Peak, she saw many Arrays guarded by cultivators.

Like numerous Earth Fire Rooms.

But the Earth Fire Room Arrays were so tightly guarded, naturally, it seemed peculiar.

Chu Yanqing infused her eyes with True Essence, enhancing the Star Illusion Eye’s color, like a star abruptly magnified in the night sky.

At that moment, she saw a strange, large open-air temple.

This instantly made Chu Yanqing’s heart pound.

She couldn’t see inside the temple clearly but felt eight or nine out of ten sure.

To avoid any problems, she quickly lowered her gaze, her eyes once again turning ink-colored.

Fixating on the Fire Rock Bird ahead.

She tossed out a long-unused Tier Two Magical Needle symbolically.

However, at that moment, the Fire Rock Bird let out a mournful chirp, only to be cut down by a sword strike.

This made Ye Jingyun and several Ye Clan members’ hearts tighten.

“Who are you? Trespassing our Jia Family’s territory, what are you doing here?” A middle-aged Daoist robe-wearing cultivator appeared.

He looked at Ye Jingyun and the others while discreetly collecting the corpse of the Fire Rock Bird.

“Jia Daoist, we came pursuing this Fire Flame Bird…” Ye Jingyun opened his mouth, rather helplessly.

As if he truly was chasing this Fire Flame Bird.

After all, in the Cultivation Realm, whoever kills a Demon Beast owns it, and now it naturally belongs to this Jia Family cultivator.

Unless Ye Jingyun’s power was superior to the other’s, he had a tiny chance.

“Do you know this is our Jia Family’s land?” The Jia Sect Cultivator shouted angrily again.

“Jia Daoist, Xu failed to pursue this Demon Bird due to lack of skill, worried it might cause chaos in your Jia Family, so I’ve been following it. I apologize for the offense; I hope Jia Daoist forgives us.” Saying this, Ye Jingyun painfully took out an ownerless Storage Bag.

Inside were clearly some Spirit Stones.

“For this time, we’ll consider it unintentional. If there’s a next time, entering our Jia Family’s territory without cause, you will fall here!” The Jia Family cultivator spoke again.

After he finished speaking, Ye Jingyun quickly bowed in a flattering manner.

Completely like a cautious Loose Cultivator.

With a wave of his hand, they quickly retreated to afar.

Once the Spiritual Ship moved away.

The Jia Sect Cultivator’s expression changed immediately, holding the Storage Bag and Fire Rock Bird’s corpse, heading towards Fire Peak.

Upon entering the Fire Peak Grand Array, numerous Arrays were arranged inside, with over a dozen cultivators meditating in the grand temple.

The leader among them was a middle-aged man with a Puppet Shadow tattoo on his arm.

The middle-aged man looked at the robe the cultivator took off and saw the same Puppet Shadow inside before waving his hand to take the Storage Bag and Fire Rock Bird’s corpse.

He took out a Cyan Mirror, first inspecting the contents of the Storage Bag, which were indeed Spirit Stones.

A total of three hundred pieces; though not much, it was quite suitable for road fees.

After all, the other party was only a Loose Cultivator and couldn’t take out too many Spirit Stones.

After illuminating the Spirit Stones, he saw nothing special, then checked the Fire Rock Bird’s corpse alongside.

Similarly, no abnormalities were found.

“Shi Yuan, did you sense any Blood Contract?” The middle-aged man asked the person next to him.

The person shook his head, and only then did the middle-aged man retreat.

“You’ve done well, these items are yours. Remember, our Jia Family is only one of the Three Great Purple Mansions, and deserves dignity but shouldn’t be overly arrogant!” The middle-aged man admonished some people beside him.

Shortly after, the temple fell into prolonged silence.
