Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 959: Chapter 668: Wood Demon’s Request

Yan Kingdom, Taihang Commandery, Lingyun Peak.

Ye Jingcheng’s courtyard, the lush spring tea plants blossomed with delightful sprouts, while the apricot tree beside them was also covered with snow-white apricot flowers.

A few apricot blossoms, having bloomed too vividly, drifted onto the black hair of a young woman in a green dress with the breeze.

She gently pinched them with her fingers, placed them in her palm, and looked towards the distance through their radiance.

She murmured:

“Great-grandfather, you bear so many flowers every year, surely your power is great; you must protect Jingcheng and let him succeed in his breakthrough!”

This female cultivator was Chu Yanqing, and though ten years had passed, she was naturally worried about Ye Jingcheng.

After all, she heard that breaking through to the Golden Core stage in the Purple Mansion comes with a Thunder Tribulation.

Ye Jingcheng did not attempt his breakthrough on Lingyun Peak, so she naturally felt concerned.

At this moment, a gentle knock sounded at the door.

“Eleventh Aunt,” a faint voice called out, and Chu Yanqing responded:

“Come in, Yunxi!” As the courtyard door opened, an eleven-year-old girl walked in.

However, do not underestimate the young age of the girl, as her cultivation level was already at Qi Cultivation Third Layer.

And be aware that Ye Yunxi had only been cultivating for just over a year.

This was enough to demonstrate the powerful talent of the Water Spirit Root.

She might even become the first teenage Foundation Establishment cultivator of the Ye Family.

“Have you encountered any difficulties in cultivation these past few days?” Chu Yanqing patiently asked.

Ye Yunxi was not only of Ye family bloodline but also of Chu family descent.

She was the granddaughter of Ye Jingyong and Chu Yanliu.

However, she was Ye Jingyong’s fourth son’s youngest daughter.

Although Ye Yunxi possessed a Celestial Spirit Root, her father was a mortal without a Spirit Root, so having a Celestial Spirit Root was truly a stroke of luck.

“No problems, it’s just the clan studies that are taught so slowly, Aunt. Can I stop attending the clan school?” Ye Yunxi stuck out her tongue and spoke mischievously.

“You little rascal, it’s fortunate your Eleventh Uncle isn’t here, or you’d be in for a scolding. Though cultivation can afford delays, clan studies absolutely cannot be neglected, and don’t forget to bond with your kin!” Chu Yanqing lightly tapped Ye Yunxi’s head.

The clan’s school was the strictest she had ever seen, and she personally experienced how clan members who graduated from the Ye family’s clan studies had a stronger sense of unity, which greatly benefited the family.

Of course, she couldn’t help but feel some affection towards Ye Yunxi, making her reluctant to be overly harsh.

“Alright, time to practice your lessons!” Chu Yanqing paused for a while, then decided to speak somewhat firmly.

Upon her word, Ye Yunxi immediately entered the house to meditate.

Of course, as she entered the house, she didn’t forget to rub the two little Jade Ring Rats kept at the entrance.

These two Jade Ring Rats were gifts from the clan members to Chu Yanqing, which both she and Ye Yunxi adored.

They required little food and liked to bow.

“Little mice, I’ll make a contract with you in the future!” Ye Yunxi pressed on the head of the small Jade Ring Rat, not caring whether it understood or agreed.

“You won’t think that way in the future!” Chu Yanqing chuckled from behind.

Once Ye Yunxi went inside, Chu Yanqing followed and set up the array to begin teaching.

But soon after, a Sound Transmission Talisman flew in.

Chu Yanqing took a look at it and headed towards the Clan Assembly Hall.

Unlike before, Ye Family was now fully accepting of Chu Yanqing, treating her as one of their own.

With her diligent efforts and patient teaching at the Artifact Refining Pavilion over several decades, all the Ye family members involved in artifact refining were deeply grateful to Chu Yanqing.

Upon entering the hall, she found Ye Jingyun, Ye Jingli, and Ye Xinghan among other Foundation Establishment cultivators of the Ye family already gathered.

Ye Jingyun had returned after Ye Jing Hu, Ye Jingyu, and Ye Qingyan announced their seclusion since the Ye family needed someone to lead, with Ye Jingli not being steady enough, and Ye Xinghan avoiding political matters.

Ye Jingyun fit perfectly, and now that Ye Qingyan was a Tier Two Middle-grade Alchemist, having trained many clan members in alchemy, he could go to the Taichang Market to oversee the Pill Pavilion, replacing Ye Jingyun.

“Sister-in-law, I’ve called you over for a matter of great importance,” Ye Jingyun spoke directly without hesitation.

“Brother Jiu, please feel free to speak!” Chu Yanqing nodded with a smile.

Over the years, the Ye family prioritized sending spirit fruits, spirit teas, and even adorable spirit beast cubs to her, seeing if she needed them.

She felt the same way she had at the Chu family before.

Therefore, she didn’t feel like an outsider at the Ye family and willingly offered help with small matters.

“The clan’s merchant group discovered a Wood Demon during their travels; however, this demon might be at the Late Stage of Tier Two, and we’re worried about causing a commotion!” Ye Jingyun explained.

Beside him, Ye Xinghan looked eagerly, though the Ye Family had the Sunflower Wood Demon planted on Lingyun Peak, since it was tamed by Ye Jingcheng, he planned to apply his research on the Blood Contract to realize his longstanding wish.

And when considering the Wood Demon Spirit Tree they encountered, each one seemed quite extraordinary.

This may very well be the Ye family’s opportunity once again.

Having Chu Yanqing take action was to ensure stability, suggested by both Ye Jingyun and Ye Xinghan.

Especially since the Wood Demon was in the Cultivation Realm of Zhao Kingdom, not Yan Kingdom.

That area fell under the sphere of influence of Medicine King Valley; the Ye family couldn’t make overt actions or delay too long, with many Foundation Establishment members supporting the East Sea now, Ye family faced personnel shortages.

“No problem, where is this Wood Demon located?” Chu Yanqing inquired.

“At the border between Xin’an Commandery and Shanling Commandery in Zhao Kingdom,” Ye Jingyun replied directly.

“No problem!” Chu Yanqing nodded, but inexplicably recalled the Zhang Family in Shanling Commandery, where Ye Jingcheng had her use the Star Illusion Eye to investigate an Exotic Mountain within Shanling Commandery.

“Very well, since this matter is important, we shall depart in two days. Naturally, the clan will close the mountain during this period!” Ye Jingyun announced again.

This time, he addressed the other clan members.

As Ye Family’s Lingyun Peak lacked high-tier combat powers, with Chu Yanqing departing, it was necessary to exercise caution.

“Brother Liu, things might be tough on you for the next few days. Recently, there have been rumors that we’ve lost a lot of clan members, and I’m concerned that deluded tribulation cultivators might cause trouble!” Ye Jingyun spoke, glancing at Ye Jingli.

Now at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment, he possessed both a Late Stage Tier Two Red Flame Python and a Late Stage Tier Two Red-crowned Sea Crane, augmenting his cultivation significantly.

“Worry not, Jingyun! I’m not who I was a decade ago!”

“Besides, the false rumors seem to be affecting more than just us; many families are involved!” Ye Jingli assured, patting his chest.

Ye Jingyun’s face immediately dropped upon hearing this.

“Brother Liu, don’t be overconfident. If things turn sour, it’s best to invite Elder Brother to the Ye family with Qingshuang for a visit, considering he’s broken through to the Purple Mansion!” Ye Jingyun noted, concerned by Ye Jingli’s confident demeanor.

Ye Jingteng recently reached the Purple Mansion, and in gratitude to Ye Jingcheng.

It’s naturally feasible to come to Lingyun Peak for protection.

Currently, Ye Family’s Lingyun Peak holds little secret, having transferred many treasures away.

“It’s better not to involve Elder Brother. If he sees Yunxi, things won’t be pleasant!” Ye Jingli shook his head repeatedly, turning serious.

Ye Jingyun sighed at this remark.

In this situation, the blame lies in the slow improvement of their family’s strength.

Despite feeling that Ye Family had made qualitative leaps over the decades.

High-tier combat prowess remains their vulnerability.

Additionally, recent events in the Cultivation Realm have increased dramatically.

Apart from someone secretly collecting Spirit Veins and Spirit-Attracting Stones, numerous families mysteriously engaged in conflicts.

Clearly, there’s someone stirring the pot covertly.

“Brother Liu, since you are reluctant to ask Elder Brother, send a transmission with a Jade Talisman to Taichang Mountain Range, consult with Elder Brother about any abnormalities in our Yan Kingdom lately!” Ye Jingyun urged once more.

This time, Ye Jingli didn’t refuse.

Just a transmission, without further entanglement, he agreed, acknowledging the necessity to protect Lingyun Peak and fulfill their obligations as Ye Family’s Foundation Establishment cultivators, given Ye Jingcheng’s absence.
