Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 648: Chapter 496: Wrath of the Celestial Worm, Return to the Yan Kingdom (Double Chapter)

The few Black Armored Scorpions immediately raised their massive stingers, happily swaying, and after consuming the powder, they escorted Ye Jingcheng into the passage.

The end of the passage was a stone chamber akin to a cave dwelling, accompanied by the low hums of the Black Armored Scorpions.

The stone chamber’s door opened, revealing the figure of Ye Xueliang.

Ye Xueliang had evidently been guarding the teleportation array here all along.

Ten years like a day, Ye Jingcheng even felt that Ye Xueliang hadn’t moved at all, and his appearance remained the same, with a layer of coldness covering that weathered face.

“Fifteenth Ancestor!” Ye Jingcheng respectfully began.

Ye Xueliang’s aura was evidently much stronger than before, now nearly at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment.

However, Ye Jingcheng also knew that Water Attribute Cultivators and Body Cultivators who came to the Cyan Cloud Sea Domain would grow faster.

After all, there were more Water Attribute Demon Beasts here, as well as more Qi Blood Treasures.

With both at hand, Ye Xueliang was naturally stronger.

“Jingcheng, are you heading back to Lingyun Peak?” Ye Xueliang spoke plainly upon seeing Ye Jingcheng.

Ye Jingcheng was not surprised by Ye Xueliang’s expression, for this Fifteenth Ancestor was as obsessed with Spirit Insects and Spirit Plants as Ye Xinghan and was not as adept in communication with the Ye Family Members.

He usually kept a stern face.

Yet, he was actually very good to the Ye Family Members. The Heaven-Opening Divine Drum Insect Array of Ye Jingcheng came from Ye Xueliang.

“Yes.” Ye Jingcheng nodded.

Seeing this, Ye Xueliang began to take out the Array Banner and set it up inside. As the banner rotated, the stone chamber’s walls started to slide open, revealing a more intricate hall within.

It was the very teleportation hall Ye Jingcheng had used earlier.

Inside the hall, the entire teleportation platform remained spotless, with every Array Pattern polished to brightness, and six Upper-grade Spirit Stones placed on the Spirit Slots.

“Jingcheng, wait until dawn. The island will then draw in the Purple Qi, reducing the teleportation waves,” Ye Xueliang said.

However, after speaking, he turned his gaze to Ye Jingcheng.

“How is your Thunder Rhinoceros Insect Array training going?”

“It’s average, still at the stage of Insect King and Insect General,” Ye Jingcheng replied.

“Show them?” Ye Xueliang asked again.

Upon hearing this, Ye Jingcheng was delighted, knowing that Ye Xueliang was going to help train the Insect Array.

With a wave of Ye Jingcheng’s hand, 180 Thunder Rhinoceros Insects appeared before him.

The Thunder Rhinoceros Insect formation was taking shape, led by twenty higher Spiritual Wisdom Thunder Rhinoceros Insect Generals, looking fierce.

Ye Jingcheng had been feeding them with blood food, so even after just four or five years, their ferocity was extremely high.

With the nurturing of the Treasure Light, the eerie glow made Ye Xueliang’s eyes light up.

“Good lad, your Spirit Insect talent is this high!”

Ye Xueliang’s eyes showed obvious excitement.

With a wave of his hand, nearly a hundred Black Armored Scorpions rushed out.

These Black Armored Scorpions were all Two-winged Black Armored Scorpions. Although only a hundred were released, they were covered in Black Armor, and their black eyes were filled with ferocity and bloodthirst, not at all weaker in presence compared to Ye Jingcheng’s 180 Thunder Rhinoceros Insects.

In fact, the Thunder Rhinoceros Insects’ gaze showed some fear.

But soon, under Ye Jingcheng’s command, the Thunder Rhinoceros Insects began to gather Thunder Light.

Meanwhile, the Black Armored Scorpions all gathered Black Light, which formed into Armor, making them appear even more bloodthirsty and sinister.

“Hiss-hiss-hiss!”

And directly charged towards Ye Jingcheng’s Thunder Rhinoceros Insects.

The Thunder Rhinoceros Insects hurriedly released the Thunder Drum Spirit Shadow, striking at Ye Xueliang’s Black Armored Scorpion swarm.

Instantly, the Black Light dissipated, and large swathes of Black Armored Scorpions were electrocuted into charred smoke and fell to the ground.

However, the remaining Black Armored Scorpions charged at Ye Jingcheng’s Thunder Rhinoceros Insect Array even more fearlessly.

The result was obvious; Ye Jingcheng’s Insect Array lost.

Aside from the thirty heavily injured Black Armored Scorpions at the beginning, only over ten were lost later.

But the Thunder Rhinoceros Insects, afflicted by poison, numbered up to 130.

Ye Xueliang quickly retracted his Black Armored Scorpion Array.

“Your Thunder Rhinoceros Insects are well-arranged and well-nurtured, but they lack ferocity and flexibility!”

“The frontlines of the Array need to be fiercer, and you can’t use all the Thunder Light at once!”

“Moreover, Insects four or five years old shouldn’t reach this level!” Ye Xueliang stated.

Then, he took out a Jade Talisman and handed it to Ye Jingcheng.

Inside were insights into Insect Cultivation.

And there were several Spirit Insect Secret Techniques, with one called the Celestial Worm’s Fury Secret Technique, which Ye Jingcheng found most intriguing.

This Secret Technique could make Spirit Insects more fearless in a short period, and their Spiritual Power more violent.

“Thank you, Fifteenth Ancestor, for your guidance. Jingcheng will work harder!” Ye Jingcheng nodded earnestly.

In fact, his training of the Thunder Rhinoceros Insects had only been a little over half a year, intermittently on Dust Concealment Island, with the rest of the time spent in seclusion.

But in his view, possessing Treasure Light and continually feeding Spirit Cultivation Pills should have yielded better results.

Then Ye Jingcheng began healing the Spirit Insects one by one.

Among the elders of the Ye Clan, it was known that his Spiritual Power could heal Spirit Beasts.

So, there was no need to hide it now.

Yet even with practice, many Spirit Insects still died.

The Black Armored Scorpions lost over ten, while the Thunder Rhinoceros Insects lost only five or six.

This scene puzzled Ye Xueliang a bit.

However, he still spoke,

“Jingcheng, your 180 are still too many; you can trim them down to 120!”

Ye Jingcheng understood what Ye Xueliang meant.

It was about choosing the best among the strong.

This way, the power would be ensured, and even when breeding again, it would result in more superior Thunder Rhinoceros Insects.

A cultivator who is overly concerned with the death of Spirit Insects will not inspire fear, as the Insects they nurture will behave just as cautiously.

Ye Jingcheng had witnessed this before with the Golden Light Spirit-Slaying Locust.

“I heard you made an Insect Valley on Lingyun Peak. I have high hopes for you and hope to see more than three formidable insect swarms the next time I visit Lingyun Peak!” Ye Xueliang finally said.

He patted Ye Jingcheng’s shoulder, his eyes filled with gratification.

The same look that Ye Haiyun had given Ye Jingcheng when watching him practice alchemy.

“Alright!” Ye Jingcheng nodded.

By this time, dawn was near.

The island’s Spiritual Energy began to gather, evidently drawing in the Purple Qi from the rising east.

Those cultivating the Purple Qi Technique from the Purple Wood Sect weren’t the only ones; many included members of the Ye Clan Hidden Island.

As such grand movements appeared, Ye Xueliang began activating the Array.

Suddenly, each teleportation platform began to light up, and the central Spatial Jade emitted a brilliant light.

Ye Jingcheng held a Teleportation Talisman and stepped onto the platform.

In the next moment, as the dazzling white light enveloped Ye Jingcheng,

he only felt a sense of dizziness sweeping over him once more.

Moments later, when Ye Jingcheng opened his eyes, what met his gaze first wasn’t Ye Haicheng, nor the Earth Dragon Demon King, but a Tai Cang Turtle.

“Jingcheng, you rascal, what have you been up to in seclusion so long!” Turtle Ancestor grumbled, his displeasure evident.

His white beard puffed with every breath.

Then he stretched his turtle head towards Ye Jingcheng’s hand.

Clearly, he was after Ye Jingcheng’s Treasure Light.

Now, he no longer pestered Ye Jingcheng for Communication Beasts; just a bit of Treasure Light would suffice.

Ye Jingcheng sensed that the Tai Cang Turtle had reached the Middle Stage of Purple Mansion.

“I have to find Grandfather for something important first!” Ye Jingcheng replied.

At the teleportation array, without secure arrays, Ye Jingcheng naturally wouldn’t use the Treasure Light.

The teleportation array was still situated in a small valley pit within Earth Dragon Valley. Previously, there was concern about the Earth Dragon Demon King, but now that the Earth Dragon Demon King was a Spirit Beast of the Ye Clan, placing the teleportation array here was more secure.

Unless the Taiyi Sect attacked the Taihang Mountain Range.

But the Taiyi Sect was now too preoccupied to attack Earth Dragon Valley; defending Jade Dragon Valley was effort enough.

Moreover, the Spirit Beasts of Earth Dragon Valley were at the Ye Clan’s disposal for Communication Beasts.

Last time, Ye Jingcheng asked the Earth Dragon Demon King for a Communication Beast opportunity and was at a loss.

No wonder the Earth Dragon Demon King agreed so readily, even gifting him a piece of its discarded Scale Armor, as it had planned to communicate with the Ye Clan all along.

Now Ye Jingcheng could communicate with whichever Demon Beast in Earth Dragon Valley he desired, making any opportunity redundant.

Ye Jingcheng, carrying a somewhat displeased Turtle Ancestor, headed towards the cave dwelling on the side. Inside, Ye Haicheng seemed to have just finished practicing a Body Refining Technique, with remnants of Body Refining Liquid still on him.
