Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 328: Chapter 317: Golden Dragon Claw

The array in the valley was isolated in two layers, so to be safe, Ye Xingliu set up the Great Sun Double Dragon Array once again.

After all, when inspecting treasures, some secret talismans might appear, or there may be spying, which is safer for the two of them.

Several spirit beasts were also released and landed nearby, quietly consuming healing elixirs.

In the outside world, Ye Jingcheng could unabashedly share the treasure light with the spirit beasts, but not here. Where healing elixirs can be used, they must be used.

Otherwise, at a critical time, lacking spiritual energy to restore or treat severe injuries would be fatal.

Now, the two were not in a hurry, so they let the spirit beasts stay nearby, providing some sort of patrol.

Sometimes, information invisible to cultivators can be perceived by spirit beasts, like the eye power of the Red Golden Roc and the hearing of the Li Fire Cyan Ox, both surprisingly acute.

The Red Golden Roc and Mei Yuhe still soared in the air. Due to the presence of the Illusion Array outside, the array could not be seen through, while the Li Fire Cyan Ox and Three-Colored Cloud Deer lay down, with their most severe injuries, though healed, still slightly wounded.

Conversely, the Golden Scale Beast was also heavily injured, but after recovery from treasure light and spirit medicine, it healed remarkably well.

At this moment next to it, it seemed almost untouched.

Golden eyes fixed on Ye Jingcheng, as if expecting Ye Jingcheng to pull a few Great Nourishing Pills from his storage bag.

In order to save time, Ye Jingcheng and Ye Xingliu each checked half of the storage bags.

Ye Jingcheng inspected the treasures of several mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators.

He dumped out five storage bags at once, and all the spirit stones and spirit medicines within them were thrown into the Secret Realm Grotto Heaven.

The first thing he examined was the magical artifacts and talisman treasures.

However, to his disappointment, the talisman treasures consisted only of the Ancient Monk Bell and the Dark Wind Bead, which had been severely damaged by the Profound Cold Seal and seemed already unusable.

Perhaps requiring nurturing by a Purple Mansion cultivator to use, and their power was greatly reduced.

Ye Jingcheng could only place them in a jade box before storing them into the grotto heaven.

Next were the magical artifacts, which, coming from mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators, did not include the imagined tier two top-grade spiritual artifacts.

This left Ye Jingcheng somewhat disappointed. Although mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators considered tier two top-grade spiritual artifacts a bit ambitious, this was, after all, the Kong Family.

There were five tier two high-grade spiritual artifacts, ten tier two mid-grade spiritual artifacts, three tier two high-grade Purple Flame Talismans, one tier two high-grade Thick Armor Talisman, and two tier two top-grade Divine Speed Talismans.

Two of the upper-grade spiritual artifacts belonged to Kong Guangyun, revealing his significant status in the Kong Family.

The five tier two high-grade spiritual artifacts were the Golden Thunder Spear, Celestial Red Sword, Fire Cloud Banner, Golden Fish Scissors, and Five Profound Seal.

Ye Jingcheng immediately picked up the Golden Thunder Spear and Fire Cloud Banner.

As for the other three artifacts, Ye Jingcheng already had similar treasures.

Such as the Eternal Green Sword and Profound Cold Seal.

But the speed of the Golden Thunder Spear was comparable to that of a tier two top-grade flying sword.

Otherwise, the Flame Fox wouldn’t have almost been caught off guard.

Considering the Flame Fox now had three tails and was the most agile among Ye Jingcheng’s four spirit beasts.

While the Fire Cloud Banner could enhance the Flame Fox’s strength.

Among the tier two mid-grade spiritual artifacts, none were particularly appealing to Ye Jingcheng, and he stored them all in his storage bag.

These artifacts might not be needed for now, but storing them in the bags was more convenient.

He also needed to select some tier two high-grade spiritual artifacts for Ye Xingliu.

For example, the Celestial Red Sword and Five Profound Seal were more suitable for Ye Xingliu.

After examining the magical artifacts and talismans, Ye Jingcheng glanced at the spirit medicines.

He suddenly realized that the Kong Family cultivators had acquired quite a lot of spirit medicines along the way.

It seemed that while tracking them, they also managed to find quite a few spirit medicines.

What Ye Jingcheng did not expect was that among them, there were main spirit medicines for the Tier Two Golden Scale Pill and the Tier Two Three-Color Pill.

Considering what he had in his storage bag, all that was needed were some auxiliary medicines purchased outside to start refining.

Once his four spirit beasts broke through to the mid-stage of Foundation Establishment, Ye Jingcheng felt his own late-stage advancement was also near.

His mood instantly improved, for although there wasn’t a top-grade spiritual artifact, his cultivation path through Foundation Establishment was fundamentally cemented.

“Jingcheng, here’s a tier two top-grade Golden Dragon Claw!” Ye Xingliu pulled out a Golden Dragon Claw.

This golden claw was one of Kong Wanling’s signature artifacts.

“Third Uncle, it’s better if you use this top-grade artifact.” Ye Jingcheng, though tempted, spoke up.

While he had quite a few artifacts, he preferred coordinating them with his four spirit beasts.

“Don’t mock your Third Uncle, my spiritual power isn’t as abundant as yours, though I broke through earlier, I’m already not as good. You can use the Golden Dragon Claw better; if I wanted to use it, I would have to extract spirit energy from spirit beasts!” Ye Xingliu said with a wry smile.

Upon hearing this, Ye Jingcheng nodded and took the tier two top-grade artifact.

Typically, mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators can only manage to utilize the power of high-grade spiritual artifacts, struggling with top-grade ones.

However, Ye Family cultivators can extract spirit energy from spirit beasts, and Ye Jingcheng, cultivating in four phases simultaneously, though not effortless, was capable.

But it always requires drawing spirit energy from spirit beasts.

Ye Xingliu then took out a shield.

“This is Kong Wanling’s Stone Heart Shield, although not as good as the Six-Layered Shield, it’s the best we can do!” Ye Xingliu held another shield.

His previous shield, the Six-Layered Shield, was breached twice by the Golden Falcon, reducing its remaining power significantly, less than even an ordinary tier two high-grade artifact.

Naturally, switching to the Stone Heart Shield was better.

Ye Jingcheng also let Ye Xingliu choose from the remaining few tier two high-grade spiritual artifacts.

Indeed, he chose the Five Profound Seal.

For Ye Family cultivators, due to the assistance of spirit beasts, they preferred artifacts requiring less spiritual energy with greater power.

Such profound seals or mountain-like artifacts were prime choices.

“Look over these spirit medicines too!” Ye Xingliu took out a storage bag to show Ye Jingcheng the spirit medicines.

He always knew that Ye Jingcheng was collecting some spirit medicines.

Thus, he also paid attention to Kong Wanling’s harvest, which was evidently greater than Ye Jingcheng’s group.

“The Kong Family had Unity Jade, able to gather together; plus, my sword qi was collected by them, keeping my position hidden. They probably managed to sweep numerous spirit medicines along the way!” Ye Xingliu explained Ye Jingcheng’s puzzlement.

He brought out a compass and several pieces of Unity Jade.

Unity Jade wasn’t very useful to Ye Family cultivators; the compass, however, was something Ye Jingcheng scrutinized for a long time.

It was also a tier two high-grade artifact, capable of not only tracking and sensing but also surveying arrays.

It’s considered an extremely practical artifact.

But Ye Xingliu didn’t seem very interested in the compass.

“My array cultivation, doesn’t require this, you keep it!” Ye Xingliu offered to Ye Jingcheng.

Recognizing the offer, Ye Jingcheng smiled knowingly and put away the compass.
