Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 293: Chapter 286: Preparations

In the room, the downsized Jade Qilin Flood Dragon appeared exceptionally magnificent, creating a stark contrast with the red wooden pavilion style of the room.

If one didn’t look at its head, one could see traces of the spiritual grace of a White Jade True Dragon.

However, once one looks at its mouth, the aura diminishes; the mouth is still wide open, seemingly unsatisfied, and it continuously transmits to Ye Jingcheng, asking if it can grow bigger.

It still wants to eat!

At this time, Ye Jingcheng also noticed that shrinking the Jade Qilin Snake seemed to heavily consume its Water Phase Spiritual Power.

He couldn’t sense the diminished size of the Red Flame Fox; after all, the reduction was not as significant, but the present size of the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon was remarkably clear.

“Once we’re out of the room or inside the Spirit Beast Bag, you can grow bigger,” Ye Jingcheng said.

Though such action consumes spiritual energy, it’s also a form of training for the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, similar to the Red Flame Fox releasing fire to refine Spirit Pills.

The Jade Qilin Flood Dragon also humanely nodded; it could fly freely now, even if there’s no fog or moisture in the air.

It could already glide through the void.

Ye Jingcheng, at this moment, also eagerly anticipated whether his Fog Escape Skill had progressed.

His Fog Escape Skill relies on the Water Phase Spiritual Power of the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon. Heading soon to the Taihang Mountain Range and the Tier Two Secret Realm, if his Fog Escape Skill could improve further, his odds would rise.

However, currently, without fog, the room is rather small; thus, he refrained from testing.

Naturally, the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon still wanted to showcase its prowess, circling around Ye Jingcheng.

Yet, Ye Jingcheng waved repeatedly, this courtyard was not suitable for the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon to continue displaying its abilities.

After all, this is a possession of the Taiyi Sect; damage would mean compensation by the Ye Family.

Judging by the speed and sharpness of this Jade Qilin Dragon’s claws, ordinary cultivators equipped with defensive spiritual artifacts would face dire consequences in close proximity.

Let alone this house entirely reliant on arrays.

“Roar!” The Jade Qilin Flood Dragon continued to low roar; it seemed somewhat unaccustomed.

In the past, when it was the Jade Qilin Snake, it could make a continuous hissing sound.

This allowed it to smell the deliciousness in the air, bringing immense satisfaction.

But now, it all manifests in a low, dull, hoarse roar.

The more it called, the more a hint of majesty burst forth.

However, through the Soul Contract, Ye Jingcheng understood that the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon still desired to devour; five Cyan Cloud Wolves were insufficient to fill its belly.

Yet Ye Jingcheng didn’t feed it twice within a single day, causing it to want to continuously exhibit.

Since the Red Flame Fox, after feeding, assists in alchemy, it gets fed twice.

“You’re allowed to exhibit, but don’t destroy the house; just demonstrate with your current form,” Ye Jingcheng nodded and allowed the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon to display.

The Jade Qilin Flood Dragon became excited and roared, diligently manipulating its claws. With a grasp, seemingly the fog in the void began transforming into streams.

However, the room’s water mist was too thin, prompting the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon to start expelling poisonous fog again.

Yet this time, the poisonous fog turned white from the previous black.

But Ye Jingcheng noticed that this white toxin was no less potent than the black poisonous fog.

On the contrary, it was more corrosive; the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon’s newly grown claws pressed onto the poisonous fog, speeding up exponentially.

Within the fog, only a streak of Escape Light could be seen; Ye Jingcheng’s Divine Sense could capture it, but he realized he couldn’t keep up.

Moreover, under the manipulation of its claws, the white mist transformed into two dragon-like streams of poisonous fog.

“That’s enough!” Ye Jingcheng waved, fetching a Cyan Cloud Wolf carcass, then retrieved two Tier Two Water Attribute Spirit Pills for the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon to consume.

He estimated the spiritual energy deficit would keep the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon craving continuous feeding; the low-spiritual energy blood and flesh of Cyan Cloud Wolves might not match even one Tier Two Spirit Pill after consuming dozens.

After the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon consumed the Spirit Pill and wolf carcass, it finally felt satisfied.

Its spirit-filled vertical pupils began to calm down; Ye Jingcheng placed the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon into the Spirit Beast Bag, returning the room to tranquillity.

Although ruined, the room was in utter disarray.

Ye Jingcheng conjured several spells, cleaning the place before restoring it to its original state within moments.

This way, he wouldn’t need to reside in any more cramped quarters.

After tidying up the room, Ye Jingcheng left the courtyard. However, while collecting the arrays, he discovered that one of the perimeter alert arrays had just been triggered.

That meant Divine Sense had just fallen upon his outermost alert array.

And the array seemed to have scared off the observer.

Despite this, Ye Jingcheng became more cautious, storing the Golden Scale Beast and glancing toward the corner at the Jade Ring Rat.

Its large Jade Ring Ears remained prominent and full.

Facing Ye Jingcheng’s puzzled gaze, the latter shook its head.

Ye Jingcheng sighed; the Jade Ring Rat indeed was somewhat outmoded.

It was equivalent to a Qi Cultivation Seventh Layer cultivator; its hearing might only detect Tier One cultivators, unable to probe Tier Two cultivators or Tier Two Spirit Beasts.

This was still due to the Treasure Book providing considerable Treasure Light augmentation, and the aftermath of Ye Jingcheng feeding numerous Spirit Pills.

He sighed but didn’t comment further.

Instead, he moved to the side, starting to collect the Peach Wood Demon body.

Heading to the Tier Two Secret Realm, the Peach Wood Demon naturally needed to be taken along.

Its sucker roots possessed considerable power, but more importantly, its spirit root could destroy arrays.

Even Blood Contracts can be absorbed and destroyed, clearly exhibiting its exceptional nature.

If encountering a Forbidden Array, it might yield some peculiar effects.

After storing the Wood Demon, he didn’t completely withdraw the courtyard’s arrays but kept them vigilant. He even planted numerous Poison Thorn Flower Seeds to ensure the place continued absorbing Wood Spirit Power through spirit plants.

After finishing all this, Ye Jingcheng returned to the room, started introspecting his Fog Escape Skill and the Profound Cold Ice Shield Secret Technique.

Upon examination, he perceived the Spiritual Power transmitted from the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon had seemingly evolved; if in fog or rain, he expected his speed wouldn’t be slower than a cultivator at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment.

The Profound Cold Ice Shield, at present, was thickly condensed; at a critical moment, it might rival a Tier Two Middle Grade shield.

Within Ye Jingcheng’s habits and tests, three days passed once more.

On this day, Ye Jingcheng finally awaited the arrival of Ye Xingliu. This time, Ye Xingliu brought along numerous cultivators, including Ye Jingyu; evidently, the Ye Family intended to accompany the sect from Taichang Market this time directly.

Additionally, if the Celestial Corpse Sect tried to switch out, it was best to do so during this period.

Moreover, they needed to verify in advance; otherwise, if the Ye Family was detected by the Taiyi Sect, they’d be implicated in collusion.

Basic checks were imperative.

“Third Uncle, it’s been a long, arduous journey,” Ye Jingcheng welcomed Ye Xingliu and Ye Jingyu, along with the others, into the courtyard.

Of the clan members arriving, there were over thirty, mostly late-stage Qi Cultivation cultivators, including Ye Jingcheng’s familiar Ye Jingli, Ye Jingyong, and Ye Xingqun.

Yet, at this moment, what was most anticipated was the clarity regarding Ye Xingliu’s spiritual ores and the revelation of the Stone Spirit.
