Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Allowed Inside

In the small courtyard of blue bricks, Ye Jingcheng put down the jade talisman and let out a deep breath.

His eyes became much more determined. The more he studied the Four Phase Celestial Essence Scripture, the more marvelous it seemed. According to the cultivation technique, the change wrought by the four phases could condense myriad changes.

It wasn’t limited to just the spells that came with the cultivation technique.

And this was the first time Ye Jingcheng had heard of a cultivation technique that could cultivate with any of the four attributes at will.

He had already decided to switch cultivation techniques as soon as possible, but before that, he needed to refine some Cyan Spirit Pills to shorten the transition time.

For cultivators in regular cultivation, relying entirely on elixirs for guidance was taboo, but it’s different with switching techniques, as the body is already adapted to higher spiritual energy.

Ye Jingcheng tidied up his things and left the courtyard. The sky had already cleared, revealing glistening patterns on the stone slabs.

Ye Jingcheng headed directly towards the Treasure Pavilion, as today he needed to exchange some alchemy materials.

The most important among them were the spiritual medicine materials for Cyan Spirit Pills and Spirit Nourishing Pills.

Ye Haiping was a bit surprised to see Ye Jingcheng again. In his view, Ye Jingcheng should be in seclusion recently, so he gave him a once-over.

“Uncle Eight, I’m here to exchange some alchemy materials and also to sell some spirit pills!” Ye Jingcheng explained, taking out the Ice Purity Pills in his hand.

As a Tier One High-Grade Spirit Pill for removing illusions and some severe poisons, its market value could go for about twenty to thirty spirit stones each.

Even if purchased by the family at eighty percent of the value, it could still fetch twenty spirit stones each.

Ye Haiping was also surprised to see Ye Jingcheng take out the pill bottle, and even more so when he realized they were Ice Purity Pills, giving Ye Jingcheng an extra look.

“Have you broken through to a Tier One High-grade Alchemist?” Ye Haiping pulled the pill bottle over and examined it closely.

The quality of the Ice Purity Pills wasn’t particularly good, indicating they were refined by a newly advanced alchemist.

“Yes, I indeed broke through by chance, Uncle Eight. See how many spirit stones you can acquire for them!” Ye Jingcheng nodded.

“This is no mere chance; no need for modesty. The quality of the Ice Purity Pills isn’t special; let’s say twenty spirit stones each!” Ye Haiping estimated the price.

Then he felt Ye Jingcheng was being a bit crafty:

“How many more do you have? If it’s a bit more, I can give you a few extra spirit stones!”

“There are six more!” Ye Jingcheng had success with three furnaces in total, with the first and second yielding two pills each and the third furnace yielding three pills.

Ye Haiping took the pill bottles handed over by Ye Jingcheng and, seeing that their quality reached the standard, he appraised them:

“Let’s say a total of one hundred and fifty contribution points then!”

“Thank you, Uncle Eight. I would also like to exchange for ten sets of Spirit Nourishing Pill materials. The rest should all be materials for Cyan Spirit Pills!”

Seeing this, Ye Haiping didn’t say much and went to the counter behind him to start picking out the spiritual medicines.

Soon, everything was placed in front of Ye Jingcheng.

Ye Jingcheng collected the spiritual medicines, eager to leave, but saw Ye Haiping mention meaningfully:

“Practice your alchemy skills a bit more lately!”

Ye Jingcheng paused, surprised, as this was the second time Ye Haiping mentioned it.

However, the next moment, he got a thought and this time, headed towards the family’s Pill Pavilion.

The Pill Pavilion was somewhat empty.

The person in charge of the Pill Pavilion was Grandpa Nine, Ye Haitian. He still held a bell, as it wasn’t yet time to switch pill rooms.

Ye Jingcheng glanced towards the pill room alongside and found the one belonging to Ye Haiyun was still tightly closed.

“Here to refine pills? It’s not the right time, you know?” Ye Haitian looked at Ye Jingcheng after a long time.

Because Ye Jingcheng could use the Red Flame Fox for alchemy, he hadn’t seen Ye Jingcheng around in recent years.

“Grandpa Nine, I’m just here to visit you,” Ye Jingcheng said awkwardly, taking out the Spirit Tea he bought in the market and preparing a pot for Ye Haitian.

Ye Haitian watched Ye Jingcheng and didn’t interrupt or refuse.

His eyes slightly narrowed, showing an expression of enjoyment.

Even the bell was set aside.

Ye Jingcheng had frequently learned from Ye Xinghong in the market, so his tea brewing carried the air of a tea master.

The water temperature and tea essence were just right, filling the porcelain cup with a vibrant green.

The fragrance of the tea wafted through the air.

“Grandpa Nine, please have a taste of this Cyan Spirit Tea!” Ye Haitian didn’t refuse, taking a sip of the spirit tea.

“Go ahead, what’s your issue?” Ye Haitian took a sip and instantly saw through Ye Jingcheng’s intentions.

Ye Haitian was also an alchemy master, just not as renowned as Ye Haiyun within the family, and was little known.

Most Ye family alchemists would call the Ninth Elder Elder Cui Ming behind his back.

That bell being the Life-taking Talisman.

And as it happened, Ye Jingcheng was among the few who knew.

“As expected, nothing escapes Grandpa Nine’s insightful eyes!” Ye Jingcheng also pulled out a jade talisman, recording many questions about alchemy in it.

Although he was a Tier One High-grade Spirit Pill Master, he had just recently entered the ranks, and Ye Haitian’s experience was far greater than his own.

Thus, he sought confirmation on each issue.

While resolving doubts, the pot of spirit tea was consumed quickly. This pot of Cyan Spirit Tea wasn’t cheap; even though not much tea was used, it was worth five or six spirit stones.

Of course, Ye Jingcheng gained a lot, making him eager to return to his small courtyard for alchemy.

However, just then, a fire room door opened a crack, and a wave of heat rushed out, dispersing much of the spirit tea’s steam.

Ye Jingcheng was slightly startled but then overjoyed, seeing that it was Ye Haiyun in the fire room, appearing somewhat exhausted but tirelessly working the Yun Furnace.

This scene urged Ye Jingcheng to quickly pull out the jade talisman to begin recording.

In Ye Jingcheng’s view, Ye Haitian might have reached Tier Two Alchemy Skill, though limited by his cultivation for further alchemy.

The Earth Fire surged, engulfing the Pill Furnace. In an instant, the Spirit Patterns became vividly alive, waving the Yun Furnace like a natural gesture, mesmerizing Ye Jingcheng!

“There’s no free tea. With the door slightly open, do you expect your Uncle Four to invite you in?” nearby Ye Haitian scoffed.

Ye Jingcheng became even more excited at this, never expecting to enter.

After all, in his mind, in this world, watching without permission was already unexpected, let alone going inside for close sensations and observation!

With Ye Haitian’s words, Ye Jingcheng, not being indecisive, remembered his gratitude to the family and the blood of the Ye family flowing in his veins, and felt worthy of stepping forward.

Ye Jingcheng immediately entered the fire room, extremely thrilled!

This fire room was evidently quite superior compared to those Ye Jingcheng had previously used for alchemy.

The raging Earth Fire caused even Ye Jingcheng’s complexion to change.

Yet Ye Haiyun seemed unaffected, continuing with his alchemy, not minding Ye Jingcheng at all.

Understanding the situation, Ye Jingcheng carefully shut the fire room door and then stood silently at the back, not daring to move, only taking out the jade talisman to observe quietly.

The elixir being refined by Ye Haiyun felt both familiar and unfamiliar to Ye Jingcheng.
