Cultivation: Starting from a Mortal Bone

Chapter 62: Chapter 60: Concern Breeds Chaos

”Breakthrough!”

As Qin Yu focused his thoughts, his Flame Point was directly deducted, and the calmly burning flame seemed to be doused with oil, suddenly soaring up, swaying, and scattering sparks.

A streak of scorching heat rose once again at the center of his brow.

”Hiss—!”

Qin Yu’s voice almost escaped involuntarily with his exhale, accompanied by that subtle yet heavy panting. His brows furrowed deeply, seeming to carry a thousand pounds, and the muscles on his face twitched minutely, outlining a complex expression of indescribable resilience and the intertwining pain.

Having gone through two transformations, he already knew well that every improvement in spiritual power came with the pain of tempering.

Just as iron must endure repeated forging before it becomes steel,

Now, it was his spiritual power being forged!

At this moment, it was as if he were in a furnace—first feeling waves of heat like magma. If spiritual power were tangible, it would slowly melt into liquid, then bubble and boil.

In this state, some flaws started to emerge.

Immediately after, as his spiritual power boiled, the scorching heat transformed into an iron hammer weighing ten thousand pounds, relentlessly, repeatedly forging his mind.

Every strike made Qin Yu feel as if he could hear the faintest moan and struggle deep within his soul.

”Ah!”

The hiss of pain instantly became a cry, and he could no longer remain seated in meditation. He half-knelt, his whole body curled in on itself.

”Mm?”

Yin Qinghe on the opposite side immediately noticed this abnormality and looked up at him.

At first, she thought Qin Yu was simply cultivating, putting on an act to draw her attention.

But a closer look revealed something was wrong.

Qin Yu was sweating buckets, even pounding the floor to ease the pain. Clearly, this was no pretense.

Yin Qinghe had to abandon her own task and withdrew her spiritual power, stood up, and walked over. ”Qin Yu, what’s happening to you?”

She wanted to help him up, but her jade-like hand paused halfway in the air. In the end, seeing him trembling, she still let her hand fall on him.

”Ah! ... Hiss... Teacher... I... I’m fine...”

”Don’t worry!”

Even as pain contorted his face, Qin Yu resolutely lifted his head, trembling, and forced out a few broken words through clenched teeth.

”You...”

Yin Qinghe completely panicked, her gaze trembling, not knowing what to do. She didn’t care about anything else, supporting Qin Yu and letting him lean against her.

”What exactly is happening to you? Tell me.”

As she spoke, her eyes flashed, thinking hard.

But Qin Yu’s condition—not only had she never seen it, she had never even heard of it, nor was there any similar record in the books.

What on earth was happening?!

Yin Qinghe’s heart was completely thrown into chaos.

Indeed, Qin Yu’s existence was now the reason she kept persevering.

She firmly believed Qin Yu would lead Danxin Herb Hall out of its current predicament.

But what if something happened to Qin Yu?!

So Yin Qinghe was utterly frantic now, at a loss for everything. She didn’t even realize she’d let Qin Yu rest on the cumbersome thing in front of her.

Her hands trembled, yet she had no idea how she could possibly help Qin Yu.

”Qin Yu, you can’t have anything happen to you... If something does, what will Li’Er do...”

”Teacher will take you to see the physician. If that’s no use... Teacher will take you to the City Lord’s Mansion and beg the City Lord himself!”

Yin Qinghe bit her lower lip, her gaze becoming resolute.

No matter what price she had to pay, she would keep Qin Yu safe. With the Immortal Sect backing the City Lord, surely someone would know what was going on.

Seeing how she struggled to help him rise, Qin Yu was deeply moved. But the pain at his brow was unbearable; he couldn’t help but break free and then slam his fists into the floor.

Luckily, this Alchemy Room had been reinforced—otherwise, the ground might have cracked.

”Qin Yu, Qin Yu...”

”Don’t frighten your teacher!”

Yin Qinghe’s voice quivered with uncertainty, not knowing what to do, so she just kept holding him, trying to stop his actions.

After a while.

Qin Yu clenched his fists, gritting through the pain, and said, ”Teacher... your disciple truly... is fine. Please move back a bit... so I don’t hurt you by accident.”

He really feared that in a careless moment, if he hurt his beautiful teacher, he’d regret it forever.

”Teacher’s okay, teacher’s okay...”

Yin Qinghe muttered softly but never let go of him.

In fact, just now as Qin Yu struggled, her arm still hurt—like it had been violently pulled. If you looked through her clothes, you’d see the reddish bruises.

Qin Yu was helpless and could only do his best to endure the forging pain between his brows, howling, his body trembling uncontrollably, unwilling to do anything that might harm Yin Qinghe.

He’d been careless.

If only he’d chosen the vacant wing room for his breakthrough.

Someone clueless like his teacher would obviously worry.

Yet Qin Yu himself hadn’t expected it—this beautiful teacher cared so much for him, and it was completely sincere.

Because, just now, in his blurry state, he caught a glimpse of his teacher’s Romantic Point and Emotion Point notification.

But in the current situation, he couldn’t spare any focus to check.

...

Yin Qinghe could only hold Qin Yu tightly in her arms, watching him howl in pain, and fear, terror... surged over her like a tide.

Her mind was a complete blank.

There was fear for the future, but more than that, worry for Qin Yu.

Perhaps even she hadn’t realized it herself—she was truly afraid Qin Yu would leave her.

Thankfully, Qin Yu’s episode didn’t last too long.

Slowly, his howls faded, his body relaxed, and his breathing gradually returned to calm.

[Spiritual Power: Entry High Tier (Flame Point 2/5000)]

His spiritual power had ascended again.

But Qin Yu’s attention was drawn to his beautiful teacher’s Romantic Point.

[Yin Qinghe Romantic Point: 20 (Feelings Born)]

This was truly strange.

His beautiful teacher’s Romantic Point had stayed at the Initial Acquaintance stage for so long, with only a point or two of fluctuation. Yet just now, in that brief moment, it had risen to... Feelings Born.

Does that mean...

All along, Qin Yu hadn’t done anything improper. Even massages were proper and upright—actually, all because of Yin Qinghe’s Romantic Point.

Because he could see it, he knew clearly—it wasn’t time yet.

Bringing his focus back from the flame, Qin Yu finally realized he was resting on something soft.

It felt wonderful.

He couldn’t help but nuzzle into it.

”Hm?!”

Yin Qinghe had been watching his condition all along—Qin Yu’s little movement caught her eye at once, especially the smile at the corner of his lips after, which made her previously grief-stricken emotions instantly fade away.
