The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Chapter 1197: Chapter 1190: Thorny Problem

The young Ma Wenjie was quite tall, about six feet, his hair styled meticulously, dressed in a well-fitted, sophisticated suit, with an elegant smile on his face, which made him even more handsome and charming.

His eyes were piercing, fixed on Fang Shilei, standing gracefully and stunningly beautiful, with a gleam and warmth in his gaze.

Years apart, he never imagined Fang Shilei would become this beautiful!

This transformation is simply unimaginable!

Back in high school, the Shi Wenwen I pursued has not aged well, far from the league of the current Fang Shilei!

The tale of the ugly duckling turning into a swan, Cinderella becoming Snow White, truly exists!

Ma Wenjie’s fiery eyes lingered on Fang Shilei, secretly marveling, with a burning heart, suddenly becoming more enthusiastic: ”Shilei, I never thought I would meet you here!”

”Yes! By now, it’s been four or five years since we graduated high school! Time flies so fast! Many people, we no longer know where they are, whether they’re still smiling as they used to be, everything as good as before!”

Fang Shilei’s face, because of the excitement and thrill of meeting old classmates, gradually faded into a tinge of somber, irresolvable memories.

The September sunlight spread a sense of melancholy on her face.

Time runs along, youth is like a speeding train heading afar, like those summers of the past, all perished in autumn sunlight.

Now, they can no longer be found!

”Shilei, aren’t we meeting again? Don’t be so sentimental!”

Ma Wenjie, noticing Fang Shilei’s words carried some sadness, immediately said with a smile: ”Aren’t you here for an internship? It’s been years, and you’ve become more beautiful! You used to be one of the class flowers, but since you were a top student, you probably didn’t notice me!”

One of the class flowers?

I remember back then you didn’t even glance at me!

With tangled hair, freckles all over the face, wearing an unfashionable school uniform, no one noticed her!

Back then, this guy was desperately chasing Shi Wenwen, recognized as the goddess of the grade!

And now, he’s lying with his eyes wide open!

Fang Shilei frowned slightly, secretly shaking her head, then said: ”Classmate Ma, you’re just the same as back then, call me Xiao Lei! Now you are an overseas returnee, a sought-after international student, I can’t compare! As for being here, indeed it’s for an internship, now I am a counselor for Class Six in the Pharmacy College! This is my student, Lin Tian!”

Finally, Fang Shilei introduced Lin Tian, who was beside her, to Ma Wenjie.

”What a coincidence!”

Ma Wenjie just glanced at Lin Tian, nodding slightly, then said to Fang Shilei with delight: ”I also returned last week, having arranged with the college to be an internship mentor at the Clinical College! Now I am an internship mentor for Class Two in the Clinical College!”

”No wonder we met here! We are colleagues now! It would be great if we could get in touch with other high school classmates and have a gathering!”

Fang Shilei’s face was again filled with joy, the delight of meeting old classmates and friends was genuine and heartfelt as she spoke excitedly.

”Haha... Xiao Lei, even if you didn’t say it, I would have done the same! After so many years, we should indeed have a reunion! When I get some free time, I will find a way to contact our high school classmates, and our homeroom teacher, Mr. Su, and invite her to join us!”

Ma Wenjie nodded with a smile, but the next moment, he shifted the tone and said to Fang Shilei courteously: ”Xiao Lei, could you have dinner with me tonight? After all these years without seeing each other, it’s a rare opportunity to meet, you cannot refuse me today!”

Upon hearing this, Fang Shilei furrowed her beautiful brows, showing a hint of hesitation on her face, and then she shook her head with a smile: ”Let’s see tonight, if it’s inconvenient. We can arrange another day? In a few days, you can come over for a meal at my place, Classmate Ma! As for eating out... as teachers of the college, eating out might look like extravagance and wastefulness, the impact may not be good!”

”That’s fine too!”

Seeing Fang Shilei didn’t refuse, and even invited him to her place, Ma Wenjie was immediately overjoyed and promptly agreed.

With that, Fang Shilei prepared to take Lin Tian back to the class and said goodbye to Ma Wenjie.

But at this moment, Ma Weijie suddenly received a phone call, and soon his complexion changed, saying anxiously to Fang Shilei: ”Xiao Lei, there’s something wrong in my class, I have to rush over!”

”What happened?”

Seeing Ma Wenjie’s tense expression, Fang Shilei asked hurriedly.

”A clinical student in class is obsessed with acupuncture, it seems like he used himself as a test subject and now fell into a coma. The dean and the director are not present, the mentor from the next class is powerless, and it seems they’ve lost their heads!”

Ma Wenjie explained quickly to Fang Shilei, his expression a mix of tension and urgency.

”Let’s go together to see if I can be of any help!”

Fang Shilei sensed the seriousness of the situation, one wrong step might cause a fatality, leading to a major uproar in Yanjing or even nationally, but as she prepared to leave with Ma Wenjie, she remembered Lin Tian was still there, and immediately turned back, saying: ”Lin Tian, it’s good timing, come along with me, you understand this field too, let’s go see it together!”

”Oh? Are you from a family of doctors, or did you have an early interest in traditional Chinese medicine? But understanding is one thing, the path of medicine is vast and complex, with too much to learn! Observe and learn as much as you can!”

Ma Wenjie was already walking briskly ahead, glancing back at Lin Tian, shaking his head lightly, speaking in a somewhat advisory tone: ”We might need to fetch some medication later, having someone to run errands would be helpful!”

Lin Tian smiled without speaking, nodded toward Fang Shilei in response, and followed.

He also wanted to see what kind of eccentric it was who performed acupuncture on himself, rendering himself unconscious!

However, thinking about it, the one who treated himself as a test subject must be extremely devoted to acupuncture.

Soon.

The three of them arrived at the Clinical College, entering the freshman class two classroom.

There were some students anxiously gathered at the entrance.

”Mr. Ma, Yan Song has already been taken to our college’s temporary emergency room by Professor Tan from Class One!”

Among a few students, a girl at the forefront, upon seeing Ma Wenjie arrive, quickly came forward, evidently the class president of Class Two.

”Xiao Yao, first keep the other students calm and studying quietly, once Yan Song’s condition is stabilized, we’ll discuss elective courses!”

Ma Wenjie nodded to the girl and instructed, then hurriedly led Lin Tian and Fang Shilei towards the temporary emergency room.

Upon reaching the temporary emergency room, two old men with thick, heavy prescription glasses were already inside, looking worried, examining the young man lying on the bed, sighing and shaking their heads.

”Professor Tan, Professor Hong, what’s Yan Song’s situation?”

Ma Wenjie entered, glanced at the young man on the bed, and asked urgently.

”Professor Tan, Professor Hong!”

Fang Shilei stepped forward to greet the two elderly men.

Professor Tan, also known as Tan Zhiren, is an intermediate professor at Yanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, considered a senior mentor!

Professor Hong, formally named Hong Hui, also holds an intermediate title, entered the college to serve as a mentor around the same time as Tan Zhiren.

”Mr. Ma, Teacher Fang, you both came!”

Tan Zhiren looked surprised, recognizing Fang Shilei, and nodded: ”The future belongs to you young people! Especially in this era, many things change, aligning more with the times, we can barely keep up! We checked this young man’s condition for a long time, but nothing makes sense. He gave himself acupuncture on the umbilical vein, causing him to fall into a coma, though there are no vital points there. But now, he seems conscious, yet his blood has coagulated, and he cannot move! A peculiar situation! Take a look at his condition, maybe you’ll find a way!”

”Yes, indeed it’s a tricky situation! Without promptly reviving him, if he remains like this, he might be in mortal danger!”

Beside him, Hong Hui also shook his head, sighing, with a worried and anxious look, said to the two: ”Mr. Ma, Teacher Fang, perhaps you might find a solution?”

”Professor Tan, Professor Hong, if you have no solution, I’m afraid we might...”

Ma Wenjie furrowed his brow, showing difficulty on his face, these two big-shots unable to solve it meant he couldn’t confidently assure either.

Inwardly, however, he shook his head—intermediate-level professors, yet they can’t even handle this, just two old incompetents!
