The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

12: Chapter 12 The Elder 12: Chapter 12 The Elder It was the weekend, and with the Spring Festival period over, the holidays were ending, the streets bustling again and the barbecue stalls doing exceptionally well after the previous lull.

Lin Tian led Xu Tangge to the busiest barbecue stall.

“There are so many people here.

Why choose this place?

Moreover, can anything here actually taste good given such poor conditions?”

Xu Tangge, curious, looked around at the smoky, bustling stall, puzzled.

“You look like someone from a wealthy family who’s never eaten at places like this!

Here, if a stall is crowded, it usually means the taste and texture of the food won’t be bad!”

Lin Tian explained as they walked.

Because the business was so good and there were so many people, many customers were queued up for takeout, and the stall was in the process of adding more tables and chairs.

Coincidentally, the owner of the stall just added the last available table, and Lin Tian and Xu Tangge managed to sit down just in time.

The arrival of Lin Tian and Xu Tangge immediately drew many admiring glances, largely because Xu Tangge was extraordinarily beautiful.

Wherever she went, she became the center of attention!

The owner was a chubby uncle who was booming with business, his fat face beaming like a flower as he hurried over to greet Lin Tian and his companion.

“Young man, your girlfriend is really pretty.

You’ve chosen the right place to bring her!

What would you like to eat?

Here’s the menu!

Everything’s delicious!”

The chubby owner handed the menu to Lin Tian, and complimented Xu Tangge, causing her face to blush slightly.

Lin Tian hastily glanced at the menu handed over by the owner, and eventually passed it to Xu Tangge, who casually ordered some grilled meats and a few bottles of drinks.

Since the business was too good tonight, the owner seemed short-staffed.

Lin Tian and Xu Tangge had to wait a full ten minutes before their ordered grilled meats were finally served.

Smelling the fragrant meat from afar, Lin Tian’s stomach couldn’t help but growl.

Xu Tangge curiously looked at the grilled meats brought to them, her delicate nose wrinkling slightly as her eyes suddenly sparkled.

However, before the waiter could set down the grilled meats and drinks Lin Tian had ordered, a wildly arrogant voice came from nearby: “Idiots, I, Scar, am taking the grilled lamb skewers and the drinks.

Bring us two Bin City roasted geese and two cases of beer for my brothers!”

As he spoke, five youths with dyed multicolored hair walked toward Lin Tian’s table.

The leader was a young man with a terrifying scar on his face and dyed light red long hair.

He went up to the waiter, snatched the grilled meats and drinks from him, and then sat down with his four companions around Lin Tian and his friend.

After sitting down, several of them turned their eyes on Xu Tangge, displaying a lustful gleam.

“Wow, Brother Scar, she’s quite a babe!”

One blond ruffian appraised Xu Tangge from head to toe, marveling.

“I don’t need you to tell me, I have eyes!”

Scar then turned to Lin Tian, waving his hand dismissively:

“Kid, scram now, and leave her to have a few drinks.”

Xu Tangge frowned, her face full of disgust, but she was not the least bit panicked.

Just as Lin Tian was about to speak, seeing that the situation was getting out of hand, the chubby owner came forward, smiling amiably at Scar and his group: “Brother Scar, your ordered roasted geese and beer will be served shortly.

However, this young man arrived first, so maybe you can all squeeze together?

I really don’t have any more tables available…”

Hearing this, Scar glared fiercely and said menacingly, “Fatty Yan, do you not want to keep your stall running?”

Hearing this, Fatty Yan’s face turned pale, and he had to close his mouth, finally looking helplessly at Lin Tian with a look of apology and pleading in his eyes, signaling him to back down.

Lin Tian, however, paid no attention, calmly picking up a skewer of grilled meat to eat, and poured himself a drink before replying:

“When it comes to eating, there’s a first come, first served order.

This food is what I ordered.

Don’t touch it a second time!

As for the seating, since the owner has no other tables or chairs, I don’t mind if you sit here and drink as long as you don’t disturb me and my friend.”

“Hey kid, you’re quite arrogant, got guts!”

Scar frowned and examined Lin Tian up and down, sneering as he spoke.

“Haha…

Brother Scar, Young Master Shen has had us maintaining order around Changning Street for over half a year now, right?

During that time, who has dared disrespect you?

And now, we finally meet this headstrong young fool!”

“Hey, not just foolhardy.

Look at him, acting all high and mighty.

He totally needs to be taught a lesson!”

“Judging by his clothes and age, he’s probably a poor student from nearby.

These type of students usually perform well academically but are annoyingly arrogant and truly in need of straightening out!”

“Brother Scar, this kid is just irritating to look at.

Damn, with his broke-ass demeanor and yet having such a beautiful girlfriend, that’s just not fair!

It’s been a while since the brothers had a good exercise!”

At this moment, the four youths following Scar chimed in, spurring on further clamor.

Nearby diners, seeing this scene, all retreated a distance.

Many recognized Scar and the others as part of the local Underworld Forces.

Their faces changed dramatically, wishing they could hide further away to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

Yet Lin Tian remained calm, comfortably sitting there, slightly furrowing his brows and shaking his head, “I advise you not to start a fight, and keep your mouths clean, otherwise, missing arms and legs will be regretted too late!

Why not just enjoy filling your stomachs?”

“Ha ha, bold, impressive, arrogant!”

Across from him, Scar suddenly burst into laughter, then his expression darkened.

He turned to Fatty Yan who was waiting beside him, “Fatso, go get the beer for the boys!

Bring five cases!

Once the beer arrives, if this kid hasn’t apologized and fucked off, I, Scar, will make him kneel and drink all five cases!”

“Beauty, you now have two options; make this kid piss off and enjoy a lavish meal with me, Scar!

Of course, you can also keep waiting, but don’t say Brother didn’t offer you a face-saving way out!”

“Brother Scar, please wait a moment!”

Fatty Yan sighed, shook his head at Lin Tian, and muttered as he walked away, “These students nowadays really don’t know how high the sky is or how deep the earth is.

With such a beautiful girlfriend, why come to a place like this?

If he had apologized earlier, he might have been able to leave.

I hope he can hold out a bit longer!”

The diners around the barbecue stall, many of them looked at Lin Tian and Xu Tangge with pity now.

A man should know when to bow and when to stand tall, why not just apologize and leave?

Now look, he’s dragged his girlfriend into this!

Those who knew of Scar’s reputation and methods all shook their heads silently.

Yet, Lin Tian remained unmoved like a mountain, just minding his own business, showing no intention of apologizing and leaving.

To Lin Tian’s surprise, Xu Tangge also seemed unfazed by Scar’s threats.

Soon, the five cases of beer Scar demanded had been brought over.

“Looks like you won’t cry until you see your coffin!”

Scar’s face darkened as he stood up, slammed a case of beer on the table, and shouted at Lin Tian, “Kneel down, drink these five cases of beer, then let your girlfriend leave with us.

I’ll let you off for the night, otherwise…”

The other four, sitting on both sides, sneered coldly at Lin Tian, eagerly looking forward to the drama, while their eyes heated up thinking about enjoying a top-grade babe tonight.

However, Lin Tian simply ignored them, took a sip of his drink, and got ready to eat the last skewer of meat.

Seeing this, Scar became furious, snatched the skewer from Lin Tian, spit into Lin Tian’s drink, and then harshly commanded, “Beat him, beat him hard, let this poor bastard know what happens when you mess with Scar in Changning Street!”

Tigers too get bullied by dogs when they’re down!

In his past life, Lin Tian had seen many arrogant people.

But now, he was being bullied by street thugs!

Lin Tian sighed inwardly, his eyes cold.

He didn’t wait for them to act first.

His hand flashed like lightning, grabbing a beer from the table, and smashed each of them, including Scar, fiercely on the head.

Lin Tian’s movements were too swift for the onlookers to catch, and Scar’s gang was stunned instantly.

Xu Tangge was also stunned, unable to believe that this thin youth could be so fierce and ruthless.

Then Lin Tian didn’t give the five any chance to catch their breath.

He grabbed chopsticks from the table and stabbed them into the palms of their hands.

Blood surged, their screams piercing through the sky, causing the surrounding people to change color, in disbelief at the scene.

“Owner, the money is left here!”

Lin Tian called out to Fatty Yan nearby, placed the money on the table, took the dazed Xu Tangge by the hand, and turned to leave.

Fatty Yan was scared by the scene before him, and it took him a while to recover.

Watching Scar and his crew with chopsticks through their palms, he turned pale, “What a tough guy!

But Scar is from Changling Company.

If the people from Changling find out, this young chap is in trouble!”

“It hurts like hell!

Kid, offending us is offending Young Master Shen!

Just you wait, we’ll find you eventually, no matter how good your skills are, with Young Master Shen stepping in, you’re as good as dead!”

Amidst the screams, Scar watched Lin Tian disappearing into the distance, cursing fiercely.

Ignoring Scar and his crew, Lin Tian walked Xu Tangge past the street corner, then said, “Sorry if I scared you!”

“It’s okay.

I couldn’t treat you this time; I only owe you another thank you!

I’m going home now!”

Xu Tangge glanced at Lin Tian with complex emotions, recalling the earlier scene in the alley.

Her face flushed with embarrassment and annoyance.

She hurriedly hailed a taxi and climbed in, secretly hoping not to encounter such a situation again, as it was too embarrassing!

Watching the girl get into a taxi and leave, Lin Tian shook his head helplessly and turned towards his residence, feeling somewhat disheartened by the meal but at least his stomach was filled.

Yet, as Lin Tian reached the end of the street, a person stopped him.

The newcomer was an elderly man in a Tang suit, his face full of wrinkles but smiling warmly, exuding a kind and gentle aura.

However, Lin Tian could vaguely feel a strong vitality emanating from the old man, along with an unexpressed formidable aura and a faint killing intent.

Lin Tian’s expression turned serious, and he became alert.

But the old man, without waiting for Lin Tian to speak, slightly bowed with a chuckle, “Young friend, don’t misunderstand, the old man means no harm!

I happened to see your scene teaching those guys a lesson at the barbecue stall, and I can tell your skills are good.

I happen to have a job offer for you!

Rest assured, it’s nothing illegal, and it’s very easy!”

With that, the elderly man paused, handed a business card to Lin Tian, not giving Lin Tian a chance to speak, and continued,

“The old man can promise you that the job pays no less than a hundred thousand a month, with no upper limit.

Don’t be in a hurry to refuse, think it over, and if you decide, call the number on the card or come to the address to find the old man!”

After finishing, the old man nodded at Lin Tian with a beaming smile and turned away.
