My Talent Skill Mutated

The long-haired man in sunglasses also turned to Chen Yu. He removed his glasses, revealing a pair of mismatched eyes. As he gazed at Chen Yu, a peculiar glint flickered in them.

It had only been a little over a month since they last met, and Chen Yu had already cultivated to Level 5.

’What kind of monster is he?!’

The long-haired man in sunglasses was reeling. It wasn’t that he had never seen a genius before—on the contrary, he had seen far too many.

But someone like Chen Yu was a true rarity.

Beyond the growth of his cultivation, Chen Yu’s actual strength was even more terrifying.

Single-handedly holding back a city-wide beast tide... when he first heard news of this feat, he couldn’t believe it.

But it was true. There were clear video recordings of the beast tide incident in Tang City. Chen Yu alone had eliminated nearly ninety percent of the beasts.

He even killed the Beast King.

Moreover, he had also taken care of an expert from the Alien Race.

And this was all accomplished by a freshman who had been at the academy for less than half a year.

The greenest of the green.

Yet his accomplishments weren’t just outstanding compared to other students at the Superpower Academy; they were exceptional even within the Superpower Alliance itself.

To achieve something like this right after joining the Superpower Alliance... compared to him, ninety percent of the new recruits were an absolute embarrassment.

”How are you? How’s your recovery going?” the Dean asked Chen Yu, his face full of concern.

Chen Yu replied, ”I’ve fully recovered. Thank you for your concern, Dean.”

The Dean smiled. ”You rascal,” he said, looking at Chen Yu. ”Causing such a commotion over a single mission. The higher-ups have their eyes on you now.”

Chen Yu subconsciously glanced at the long-haired man.

The long-haired man spoke up. ”Chen Yu, I’m here on orders from the top. Your performance in Tang City was exceptional. The Alliance has decided to promote you to a Level 2 member. Your identification has already been updated within the Alliance’s internal system; you can verify it on the network.”

”A Level 2 member...”

Chen Yu looked at the long-haired man in surprise. ”The promotion was that simple?”

The long-haired man was speechless.

The Dean was speechless.

’Simple?’

’Single-handedly stopping a beast tide, saving half a city, slaying a Beast King, and killing an expert from the Alien Race—he calls that simple?’

’Does he have some kind of misunderstanding of the word ”simple”?’

Seeing the genuinely surprised look on Chen Yu’s face, the two of them were at a loss for words.

’Such a humblebrag!’

’This guy is the king of humblebragging.’

’But... with his track record and strength, he’s certainly earned the right to brag.’

”Ahem,” the long-haired man coughed. ”This is the Alliance’s decision; there’s no need to doubt it. Promotions are based on a member’s specific accomplishments.”

Chen Yu nodded, not pressing the matter.

’A promotion was a good thing for him, anyway.’

’The higher his rank in the Alliance, the greater his authority.’

’He could even command government officials and direct their forces. That was the kind of authority a Superpower Alliance member held.’

’Of course, as a member of the Alliance’s Eastern bloc, this authority would be most effective within the borders of Great Xia.’

’It wasn’t a given that it would work in the territory of other nations.’

’Still, in certain special circumstances, it could be decisive.’

’The concept was rather vague, though.’

’It was hard to define precisely.’

...

The long-haired man looked at Chen Yu and said, ”Because of your outstanding performance, the Alliance has also decided to give you a reward.”

As he spoke, the long-haired man produced a box as if by magic.

Chen Yu’s gaze fell on the box.

”This is your reward from the Alliance. I’m delivering it on their behalf.”

The long-haired man said slowly as he handed the box to Chen Yu.

Chen Yu took the box and opened it curiously. Inside were Spirit Pearls.

And Celestial Spirit Pearls, at that.

Three of them in total.

Compared to a simple monetary reward, Spirit Pearls were undoubtedly the best.

Celestial Spirit Pearls were something money couldn’t buy.

They were exceedingly rare.

”Thank the Alliance for the reward. Please convey to them, sir, that I will continue to redouble my efforts in the future,” Chen Yu said with a serious expression as he put away the box of Spirit Pearls.

The long-haired man nodded slightly. ”Besides the reward and promotion, the Alliance has a mission for you. Completing it will also earn you merit.”

”However, you will need to carry out this mission with other Alliance members.”

”An Alliance mission...” Chen Yu said, looking at the long-haired man.

”What is it?” Chen Yu asked, intrigued.

This was the first time he would be accepting a mission from the Alliance. The Superpower Alliance’s missions were known to be strange and varied; compared to those from the academy, they were likely to be far more difficult.

But he liked a big challenge.

’A bigger challenge means higher risk, and high risk means powerful opponents. Powerful opponents mean he could get his hands on a large amount of the Source of Life.’

The long-haired man looked at Chen Yu, took out a file, and handed it to him.

”Take a look at this.”

Chen Yu paused for a moment, looking at the file. He quickly composed himself, opened it, and began to read it carefully.

The file wasn’t long and described only one thing.

It was about an Abyssal Realm.

This Abyssal Realm was codenamed the ”Tangula Abyssal Realm.”

It was located on the largest plateau in East Asia, within the famous Tangula Mountains.

It was a newly discovered Abyssal Realm.

The file clearly stated that this new Abyssal Realm had appeared less than five days ago.

It was currently sealed off by the Abyssal Administration Bureau, and its existence was not yet known to the public.

According to the file, the Tangula Abyssal Realm was a terrifying world filled with high levels of radiation.

Cosmic radiation levels were extremely high, and there were also signs of many powerful beasts.

However, that wasn’t the most critical detail. The most important point described in the file was that the Tangula Abyssal Realm might be a transit hub for the Abyss, established by a certain Alien Race. In other words, there could be members of the Alien Race inside this new Abyssal Realm.
