My Talent Skill Mutated

”No problem. I’ll take care of it,” the portly middle-aged man agreed with a nod.

”Then leave. I’m tired and need to rest,” the member of the Dark Spirit Race said indifferently.

The portly man nodded and promptly left the room. The others followed him out of the luxurious suite.

As the door closed, a glint of icy coldness flashed in the eyes of the Dark Spirit Race member. His gaze returned to the virtual projection before him.

...

In the ruins of Tang City, a figure staggered onward.

”COUGH, COUGH.”

Chen Yu coughed, fighting the weakness in his body as he staggered forward.

This time, after unleashing his Divine Will, he hadn’t fallen unconscious. He still had a sliver of strength left to move.

However, the physical toll had been immense. Though he wasn’t unconscious, he had barely any combat strength left.

”Brother Yu.”

Just then, several figures appeared in the distance, and a familiar voice reached him.

Chen Yu looked up. When he saw An Ran and Baili Qing, the tension left his body.

The weakness in his body became too much to bear, and he collapsed headfirst into the rubble.

”Brother Yu!”

Startled, An Ran and Baili Qing rushed forward.

They helped the unconscious Chen Yu to his feet. He managed to pry his eyes open, his face a mask of exhaustion, as if his body had been completely wrung dry.

”The beast tide... is it over?” Chen Yu asked weakly.

An Ran nodded. ”Don’t worry, Brother Yu. The beast tide is over.”

”That’s good.” Chen Yu smiled faintly, his eyes closed once more, and he fell completely unconscious.

...

”Why is his vital energy so depleted?” Dongfang Yao asked, her expression shocked as she assessed Chen Yu’s condition.

An Ran explained, ”This is normal. When Brother Yu’s alter ego takes over, he gains immense power, but it consumes a tremendous amount of physical energy. That’s why he’s like this.”

”I see.”

Dongfang Yao nodded, finally understanding. Looking at the unconscious Chen Yu, she said, ”He’s weak. Let’s move him to my family’s basement to recover. We can all use the rest.”

”Alright,” An Ran nodded. Baili Qing had no objections either.

The three of them then carried the unconscious Chen Yu and quickly departed from the ruins.

...

「Jingzhou.」

In the Dean’s office at the Superpower Academy, the Dean listened to Tianhai Yoou’s report, his brow deeply furrowed.

”How is Chen Yu?” the Dean asked after a moment of silence.

Tianhai Yoou replied, ”Sir, he’s still unconscious. It’s the same as last time—his vital energy is severely depleted, and his body is in a weakened state. He’s currently resting in the Dongfang family’s secret basement in Tang City.”

Hearing this, the Dean’s brow smoothed, and he inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.

After a moment of thought, he looked at Tianhai Yoou. ”Go to Tang City personally, right away. Bring Chen Yu and the others back here to recuperate. Make sure nothing goes wrong.”

”Yes, sir!”

Tianhai Yoou nodded, then turned and left the office.

’Is this kid just unlucky, or is someone targeting him? Why does this keep happening on his missions?’

Leaning back in his chair, the Dean rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

First, it was a clash with the Alien Race. Now, a beast tide crisis. Each incident was worse than the last.

Thankfully, they were all close calls.

’Looks like I need to make some changes. This kid can’t keep going on like this...’

After a moment of contemplation, the Dean made a call.

---

”COUGH, COUGH...”

In a daze, Chen Yu opened his eyes. A white ceiling filled his vision. Looking around, he realized he was resting in a room.

But it didn’t look like a hospital.

’I still couldn’t handle it. I wonder when I’ll be able to control this Divine Will without effort.’

Chen Yu lamented internally.

Although he hadn’t immediately fallen unconscious this time, he hadn’t been able to last long either.

The toll on his vital energy was too great. Even his powerful physical constitution couldn’t handle it.

Though his cultivation was only at level 4.9, his physical constitution was even stronger than that of a Sixth-level Martial Artist.

But even so, he still couldn’t withstand the aftereffects of the Divine Will.

’If I’d been alone and collapsed out in the wilderness, that would have been extremely dangerous.’

’This time... I should be able to achieve Evolution...’

As he came to his senses, a thought flashed through Chen Yu’s mind. Just as he was about to summon his interface to check his Source of Life, the door suddenly opened.

A beautiful figure walked in.

Tianhai Yoou!

”Oh, Chen Yu, you’re awake!”

Seeing Chen Yu’s eyes open, Tianhai Yoou immediately strode forward. A faint, pleasant fragrance wafted into his nose.

’Fresh and soothing!’

”How are you feeling?” Tianhai Yoou asked, looking at him.

Chen Yu smiled. ”I’m fine, Teacher. My vital energy is just depleted. I’ll recover quickly.”

Tianhai Yoou looked at him, still worried. She grabbed his wrist and used her Qi to sense his condition. Only after confirming there were no issues did she let go.

”Your body is a little weak, but it’s already started to recover on its own. Just rest and recuperate properly.”

Chen Yu nodded.

”Where is this?” Chen Yu asked.

Tianhai Yoou replied, ”We’re back at the academy. Don’t worry. And we have you to thank for this one. Otherwise, the situation in Tang City would have been much more severe. The academy is even preparing an award for you.”

”It was the least I could do. Besides, I wasn’t the only one. Others deserve credit too,” Chen Yu said.

Tianhai Yoou smiled. ”You’re so humble. But don’t worry about that. You’ll get all the credit you deserve.”

”Don’t move. I’ll go get you something to eat,” Tianhai Yoou said.

”Thank you, Teacher.”

Tianhai Yoou smiled faintly, then left the room.

A moment later, An Ran and the others came in.

Besides An Ran and Baili Qing, there was one other person: Dongfang Yao, whom he had met during the beast tide in Tang City.

”Well, look who’s awake! Our great hero! This is wonderful,” An Ran said with a beaming smile.
