My Talent Skill Mutated

As he cultivated, Chen Yu could feel a mysterious power infusing the Seed of Superpower within his body.

It underwent some subtle changes.

However, the changes weren’t drastic; they were almost imperceptible.

Chen Yu continued to cultivate the Celestial Destiny Skill as time slipped by silently.

「The next day, early in the morning.」

Chen Yu opened his eyes on the sofa.

After a night of cultivation, he wasn’t tired at all. On the contrary, he felt refreshed and invigorated.

His Qi had increased significantly after a single night of cultivation.

The progress was much faster than cultivating with the Starry Sky Breathing Skill.

Although the Celestial Destiny Skill was only at the introductory stage, it already far surpassed the Starry Sky Breathing Skill.

”Phew~”

Letting out a light breath, Chen Yu summoned his interface with a thought.

Name: Chen Yu

Talent: Infinite Body (Tier Three 0/50,000) [Unique Talent]

Skill: Spirit Devour (Perfection 10/200,000) Freezing Breath (High-level 1/100,000) Biological Force Field (Golden Legend Intermediate 0/100,000)

Source of Life: 42,190

’It works!’

Chen Yu’s eyes lit up as he looked at the interface.

’The Celestial Destiny Skill can improve my Skills. This is great news.’

’But...’

’This growth rate is ridiculously slow,’ Chen Yu thought.

’The Biological Force Field Skill didn’t increase at all.’

’And Freezing Breath only went up by a single point.’

’Oh well, it’s better than nothing,’ Chen Yu thought, adjusting his attitude.

’Even if it’s not much, any progress is good.’

’Every little bit counts.’

’Little by little, it will add up.’

’Maybe when the Celestial Destiny Skill levels up, the growth rate will get faster.’

After all, cultivating the Celestial Destiny Skill provided comprehensive improvements.

He closed the interface, went to the bathroom to wash up, and then headed out.

He contacted An Ran and Baili Qing. After grabbing breakfast, the three of them headed to class together.

——

Time flew by, and a month passed in a flash.

Over the past month, Chen Yu’s strength had steadily increased through his cultivation of the Celestial Destiny Skill and practice with his Skills.

His Qi had already reached level 2.9, just a single step away from Level 3.

He became increasingly proficient in using his Freezing Breath and Biological Force Field Skills.

He had honed his various abilities to the point of mastery.

——

Superpower Academy, First-Year Elite Class 9.

From the podium, Tianhai Yoou addressed Chen Yu and the other two students. ”Today marks the official end of your one-month orientation period. I hope to see outstanding performances from all of you in the future.”

”Combat is the only true test of your abilities. You must take on missions frequently and never slack off. Understand?”

The three of them nodded.

Tianhai Yoou smiled faintly. ”Come. Let me introduce you to your new safety officer.”

With that, Tianhai Yoou walked out of the classroom.

The three exchanged a look and followed.

’A safety officer!’

They were an indispensable part of the program.

All first-year students were assigned a safety officer, regardless of whether they were in a regular or an elite class.

After all, Awakened didn’t grow on trees. Each one was cultivated with great effort, and losing one in an accident would be a major blow.

This was especially true for the elite classes.

After all, no one could guarantee that unexpected situations wouldn’t arise during a mission.

Having a safety officer simply increased the odds of survival.

They could intervene at critical moments.

Of course, safety officers were only provided for first-year students. By the second year, they would be on their own.

...

Leaving the academic building, Tianhai Yoou led the trio to a grassy field on campus.

The sky was blue, dotted with white clouds, and the air was fresh.

Not far off, a man dressed in black stood motionless under a towering, hundred-meter-tall tree.

As they reached the field, Chen Yu and the others immediately spotted the man in black beneath the tree.

Tianhai Yoou led them over to the man. All three students fixed their gazes on him.

He was a man with a buzz cut.

He looked to be in his thirties.

His build was burly and extremely robust.

As they observed the man in black, his gaze fell upon Chen Yu’s group.

Tianhai Yoou smiled and said, ”I’ll be leaving these three students to you.”

The man in black nodded. Tianhai Yoou turned back to Chen Yu and the others.

”Work hard, you three. If you have any questions about your cultivation or studies, feel free to find an instructor.”

The three nodded. With a brief introduction made, Tianhai Yoou didn’t linger and promptly left.

After Tianhai Yoou left, the three students turned their attention to the man in black.

Xu Feng!

That was the safety officer’s name.

Their eyes met. Xu Feng looked at Chen Yu and the others, his deep voice breaking the silence.

”Let me briefly introduce myself. I’m a level-five Martial Artist with a B-rank ability. My combat strength is about on par with an average Sixth-level Martial Artist. I’ll accompany you on your missions, but I will not intervene unless you are facing certain death.”

”One more thing: I advise against taking missions with an excessively high difficulty rating. The harder the mission, the greater the danger, and I may not be able to reach you in time to help.”

”Of course, that’s just my advice. I won’t interfere with which missions you choose to accept.”

”Now, you introduce yourselves. Briefly state your respective strengths and abilities.”

The three exchanged glances, and An Ran stepped forward. ”I’m a Third-level Martial Artist. I can probably handle a level-four. My specialty is offense.”

Xu Feng nodded. Baili Qing spoke up next. ”I’m also a Third-level Martial Artist. Fighting a fourth-level Martial Artist is no problem for me. I also specialize in offense.”

Xu Feng’s gaze shifted to Chen Yu, who then spoke. ”I’m a Level 2 Martial Artist. Uh, I don’t really have a specialty; I’m decent at both offense and defense. Handling a fourth-level Martial Artist is no problem.”

Xu Feng nodded. ”For the next year, you’ll be a team. I expect you to cooperate. Once you accept a mission, contact me directly, and I’ll make the necessary arrangements on my end. This is my communicator ID; add me.”

The three of them added his ID. Xu Feng looked at them and asked, ”When do you plan on taking your first mission?”

”We were planning to go look now,” Chen Yu replied. ”We’ll take one if we find something suitable.”

He had been patient for long enough.

He hadn’t acquired any Source of Life for a whole month and was growing impatient.

While the Celestial Destiny Skill could level up his Skills, the process was far too slow.

It was nowhere near as fast as using the Source of Life.

”No problem. I’ll accompany you to the Mission Building then,” Xu Feng nodded.

An Ran and Baili Qing had no objections either.

Doing missions and earning academic credits were very important.

After a month of waiting, they were also eager to get started.

Real combat experience was essential.

Practice alone wasn’t enough.

It was also the responsibility of an Awakened.

The Alien Race and their beasts posed an immense threat.

The group left the grassy field and headed toward the Mission Building.

A few moments later, they arrived at the Mission Building.

It was a high-rise skyscraper that exuded a futuristic, high-tech feel.

Xu Feng stopped to wait outside while Chen Yu and the others entered. The Mission Building was bustling with people, all of them there to accept missions.

The missions at the Superpower Academy were sourced from all sectors of society. They were systematically screened by the academy, then classified by level and difficulty.

An Ran and Baili Qing had both completed missions before, so they were quite experienced in this regard.

But for a team mission, they would naturally have to work together.

If they failed, all three of them would have their academic credits deducted.

Both An Ran and Baili Qing had some academic credits saved up.

Chen Yu only had five academic credits—the starting amount gifted by the academy to new students.

The first-floor lobby of the Mission Building was filled with terminals.

There were hundreds of them, arranged in neat rows.

These were the mission terminals. The trio walked up to one of the terminals in the lobby. After they tapped the screen, a list of missions quickly appeared.

Chen Yu’s eyes fell upon the missions displayed on the terminal screen.
