Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 687 Chapter 687: Beast Tide!

Instructor Mei Lan, Tang Li Xue, and the others entered the enormous bright Space Gate Hall together.

There were still so many foxes in human form coming and going in this Space Gate Hall as usual while wearing cloaks to cover their fox ears and tails.

Instructor Mei Lan also took out three hooded cloaks and gave them to her three students while explaining: ”There are a stealth rune and a protection rune engraved on these cloaks. Although the level of these treasured cloaks is not high, but it should be better than wearing the normal ones.”

”Thank you very much, Instructor Lan~!” Tang Li Xue, Bingbing, and Silly Fox cheerfully thanked Instructor Mei Lan after receiving the treasured hooded cloak.

After all of them wore the treasured hooded cloak, Instructor Mei Lan brought her three students toward one of the giant stone rings.

Instructor Mei Lan immediately activated the giant stone ring with her badge to open the Space Gate, and all of them hastily entered the Space Gate together.

When they stepped out of the Space Gate, they were already in the middle of a dense forest.

Instructor Mei Lan took the lead by taking out her Wind Riding Bird first.

When Tang Li Xue, Bingbing, and Silly Fox saw it, they also took out their own Wind Riding Bird from their mid-rank space pouch.

After giving one or two Spirit Dew Cucumbers to feed their Wind Riding Bird, all of them jumped onto the Wind Riding Birdʼs back. The four Wind Riding Birds flapped their wings and soared into the sky together.

Tang Li Xue thought they might bump into some perverted cultivators or even a few assassins who targeted her just like her previous journey to the Inheritance Ground Tablet.

But contrary to her expectations, their journey was extremely smooth, and they did not meet with any foes or obstacles at all.

The bored Tang Li Xue, Bingbing, Silly Fox, and Yaya even started to play around and joke with each other.

The smug but lazy Little Loki did not bother to join them as it fell asleep on the top of Tang Li Xueʼs head as usual.

However, Tang Li Xue realized something was not right on their way.

”Instructor Lan... Donʼt you feel like there are too many beasts scattered around?” Tang Li Xue asked with a suspicious tone.

”You do not need to think too much about it. There should be beast tide again soon, but it is not our business at all. Just let them do what they want ~!” Instructor Mei Lan replied with a flat tone as if she did not pay any attention to it.

”Beast tide? Again?” Tang Li Xue frowned deeply and asked again with a more curious tone.

Instructor Mei Lan sighed while hesitating for a few moments.

She actually did not want to tell Tang Li Xue about it because she knew that Tang Li Xue had a strong feeling and sense of sympathy for the Human Race.

But after pondering for a while, Instructor Mei Lan decided to tell it honestly to Tang Li Xue since she could probably guess it sooner or later.

After all, they would definitely enter the human city soon, and Tang Li Xue could easily find any information she wanted by asking anyone there.

”After their Inheritance Ground Tablet was missing, the Human Race accused our Beast Race of stealing it and demanded us harshly to return it soon.”

”Of course, our Beast Race refused to admit it, thus the relationship between our Beast Race and Human Race deteriorated further to freezing point, and this happened. Human Race hunted any Beast Race they met in anger, while Beast Race launched Beast Tide to slaughter the Human Race.”

”But frontal head-on war like this is not our Fox Clanʼs business, since our job is only to provide any information the other Beast Races want and secretly assassinate the important leaders of the Human Race if we find a chance.”

Instructor Mei Lan concluded her explanation still with a flat tone as if she did not really care about it at all.

Tang Li Xue, Bingbing, and Silly Fox were completely dumbfounded when they heard the information told by Instructor Mei Lan.

Especially Tang Li Xue, since her stunningly beautiful face turned a bit pale as she muttered in a sorrowful voice: ”That is... Is it my fault?”

A negative thought flashed in Tang Li Xueʼs mind as she suddenly thought that the Inheritance Ground Tablet might not have vanished if she had not entered it before.

Maybe because she was the only anomaly at that time since there was no other beast race from outside entered there.

Instructor Mei Lan rolled her eyes disdainfully as she scolded: ”Do you begin to think too high of yourself now? Do you seriously think that everything in this world revolves around you?! Listen up, you stupid Xue~! Even if you were not there, the Inheritance Ground Tablet will still definitely be stolen and lost!”

Tang Li Xue immediately woke up by Instructor Mei Lanʼs words. Her charming face blushed in embarrassment.

She lowered her head while saying in shame: ”You are right, Instructor Lan~! Thank you for reminding me... It seems I have become too conceited lately. Hehehehe~!”

ʼThat is right~! I am really such a big fool~! I am not even a protagonist, so how could everything happen because of me?!ʼ Tang Li Xue thought as her mood became much better.

”But you should not tell anyone that you had entered the Inheritance Ground Tablet at that time, or you would definitely become the main target of those humans! Wait a minute... Are there any people who saw you enter the Inheritance Ground Tablet before?” Instructor Mei Lan asked with a grim expression.

”Eh? That is...” Tang Li Xue murmured in surprise while thinking.

There were actually many people, but most of them had already died under the scummy baldy uncle, Mo Chonglin.

Tang Li Xue could only remember two people who were still remain alive until now... Ye Zhen and Beiming Chu. Well, since she was the one who personally saved both of them from Mo Chonglinʼs grasp before.

”Err... They should not tell anyone about me after that, right? I mean I am the one who saved their lives after all... So, at least they should feel indebted to me and conceal any information about me.” Tang Li Xue muttered with a worried tone.

But actually, Ye Zhen had already killed Beiming Chu in the end, and he had also completely disappeared after that, so no second human knew about Tang Li Xue entering the Inheritance Ground Tablet until now.

Of course, Tang Li Xue still did not know anything about it, so she could only secretly hope that Ye Zhen and Beiming Chu would not tell any other people about her.

On their way, Tang Li Xue witnessed so many villages and towns being razed to the ground by the cruel beast tide.

Countless human cultivators clashed against the raging beast tide and fought with their lives on the line.

Blood flowed like a river.

Shattered limbs and gnawed corpses were scattered everywhere.

If it was the previous Tang Li Xue who had seen this cruel scene, she might have thrown up many times.

But the current Tang Li Xue had gone through several identical situations in the Foxes Hunting Festival, so she had already grown used to it. However, her charming face still became a bit paler because of it.

Ironically, their journey became very smooth because the Human Race and the Beast Race were too busy fighting against each other, and they did not have time to pay any attention to them.

If any Beast Race wanted to attack them, they only needed to show their fluffy fox ears and tails, then those Beast Race would let them go.

Meanwhile, any Human Race they met would treat them as a group of pitiful young girls who tried to escape from the war, and then those humans did not bother to make it difficult for them.

After rushing their Wind Riding Birds to fly for a few days nonstop, Instructor Mei Lan decided to let them rest for one night.

Tang Li Xue, Bingbing, and Silly Fox wanted to land in the nearby city, so they could eat delicious food in the restaurant and sleep comfortably in the inn.

Unfortunately, Instructor Mei Lan rejected their idea.

There were Beast Tides everywhere at the moment, so there was no guarantee that the city they stayed in tonight would not be attacked by the Beast Tide in the middle of the night.

Tang Li Xue, Bingbing, and Silly Fox could only follow Instructor Mei Lanʼs suggestion and took a rest in the abandoned temple in the middle of the forest.

The sky had turned dark, and it was still drizzling right now.

Tang Li Xue tried to make a bonfire inside the abandoned temple with her Flame of Pride, but she almost burned down the entire abandoned temple instead because she almost lost control over her Flame of Pride.

Then she got rewarded with a love smack on her head by Instructor Mei Lan until there was a huge bump on the top of her head.

Little Loki glared resentfully at Instructor Mei Lan since the top of Tang Li Xueʼs head was actually its personal bed.

Before they went to sleep, Instructor Mei Lan took this chance to tell any information she knew about this mission to her three students.

”The name of the Sea Beast Princess is Yan Fei. As you already know, she is extremely stubborn because she has already been spoiled rotten since she was little.”

”She never experienced any slightest suffering. Everyone respects and fears her so much because of her status as the most pampered princess. Thus she is really an extremely easy target to deceive by that cunning human.”
