Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Qin Xin’s understanding made the Second Elder feel somewhat moved.

He decided to speak the truth:

“Yes, this blood pool has actually been around for a long time.”

“In the earliest years, it was used to store the blood of spiritual beasts, refined through the Panlong stele to provide a continuous supply of the purest spiritual energy for the gifted.”

“But later, the spiritual energy became increasingly thin, and the elders worried about the blood pool running dry tried everything they could think of to maintain it, all to no avail.”

“Eventually, one day, the Seventh Elder discovered by accident that injecting the blood of gifted individuals into the blood pool could increase the power of the existing blood geometrically.”

“Thus, we reached a difficult agreement. Every year, one of the elders would send their trusted subordinates to find gifted individuals with strong spiritual power but unscrupulous intentions, execute them, and then throw them into the blood pool.”

“Many years passed, and such people became fewer and fewer. Thus, under the Seventh Elder’s suggestion, each year he would execute a student under the pretense of taking an apprentice and throw them into the blood pool. Although I opposed it, the minority has to submit to the majority, especially since this wasn’t for one person’s benefit but for the future of the entire world of gifted individuals…”

Upon hearing this, Qin Xin couldn’t help but speak coldly: “You are using the private interests of the majority to hijack the survival rights of the minority. Do not mention the future again, those lofty excuses cannot hide the selfish cruelty of your actions.”

Those students sacrificed at the blood pool were also cherished by their parents as precious jewels, why should they be sacrificed alive?

Why doesn’t the elder proposing this jump into the blood pool and sacrifice himself?

Why not sacrifice his own family and children?!

The Second Elder lowered his eyes, his expression visibly sinking into pain: “Yes, I… have suffered from this for many years, until today by this blood pool, I realized I have always been deceiving myself. No matter what reasons the Seventh Elder uses to cover his actions, he cannot hide his sins, and as a bystander, I am an accomplice to those sins.”

Qin Xin glanced at the blood bottle in Nalan Ye Jue’s hand and spoke blandly: “You have killed not only the Divine Academy’s students, have you?”

The Second Elder closed his eyes: “Yes. Eligible students became fewer and fewer. So, starting nineteen years ago, each year, the Seventh Elder would send people through the Time Gate to find gifted babies, alter them at a very young age, and take their blood when they become adults…”

Nineteen years ago!

Alteration beginning at the infant stage!

Qin Xin felt suffocated with anger.

“Why is it… them?”

The Second Elder: “Because experiments show that girls are more likely to awaken their abilities.”

Qin Xin clenched her hands tightly, the threads of grass and snake in her mind finally converging at a clear endpoint: “So, the girls you alter and nurture to fill the blood pool are called Blood Women?”

She was the first.

There were at least eighteen more girls like her, completely unaware that their future fate was to die young, with the sole meaning of their lives being to provide nourishment for others.

The Second Elder nodded: “Yes.”

Nalan Ye Jue also felt a wave of suffocation in his heart, looking at Qin Xin with compassion: “Little wife, let’s go home.”

The Second Elder pointed to the nearest passage: “There is an exit here, I will send you out first. Old Seventh is dead, but he just sent out a signal for all the elders to come here. If we encounter the other ten, I am not sure if we three can withstand them if they join forces.”

Qin Xin remained silent.

Supporting Nalan Ye Jue, they walked to the exit, then looked back at the gloomy blood pool.

She slowly spoke: “Such an evil place should not exist in this world.”

The Second Elder had a vague sense of foreboding.

Nalan Ye Jue seemed to fully understand what she intended to do and held her tightly by the waist: “You’re right, little wife. But if you take action yourself, I fear your hands will hurt. How about…”
