Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Beneath the darkened sky.

The Divine Academy suddenly turned into the scene of a disaster film.

Sitting at the end of the podium, Qin Xin looked out, seeing thousands of students on the playground, defenseless and without shelter, being attacked by relentless black birds in the sky.

Some senior students with quick reflexes hurriedly unleashed Spiritual Power, waving their arms and chanting spells, trying to fend off the attacking birds.

Yet, the number of birds was overwhelmingly large and extremely agile, blocking one or two was possible, but not thousands upon thousands.

Even the student with the strongest Spiritual Power was pecked in disarray by the birds, eventually forced to cover their heads and evade.

Only a small area in the crowd barely maintained protection from the invasion of the birds.

Ao Xinghao, Si Moyu, and Jing Zhichen quickly formed a five-person team with Ding Dou.

During wind, gold, water, and earth, the five elements united, barely sustaining a small patch of sky that deterred the birds.

Meanwhile, in the mentor’s family squad, Ding Yu somehow obtained skunk powder, seemingly forewarned of the impending test, and at the moment the Elders released the birds, quickly scattered the powder, surrounding herself with a pungent smell, repelling not just birds, but humans too.

Though it was terribly smelly, it was considered a clever trick to avoid the birds’ attack.

Qin Xin squinted her eyes.

She hadn’t planned to partake in this matter.

This was the Twelve Elders’ unusual test for the students; she didn’t care who stood out, as long as her companions were safe.

However, scanning the crowd, she suddenly saw the three roommates in her dormitory, huddled together, crying and screaming.

The three of them had rather low Spiritual Power; let alone countering the birds, a single peck would leave a bloody hole, rendering them helpless.

The dorm leader with a bread-like face showed her big sister demeanor, using her thick back and arms to desperately shield the other two weaker sisters; but she only had two arms, making it impossible to protect everyone thoroughly.

Her own back was already a bloodstained mess from the birds’ attacks...

She was actually very timid, crying louder than anyone else, but at this life-and-death moment, her arms didn’t hesitate, still firmly protecting the younger dorm mates.

The dorm leader was a tiny officer whom no one paid attention to ordinarily, but for her, having that title meant she had to take responsibility, even if she couldn’t care for herself, she had to do her best to care for her dorm sisters.

Qin Xin squinted, her palms gradually curling up.

She turned to look at the nearest Elder, speaking, ”This kind of test is excessive, isn’t it?”

The Elder indifferently said, ”You’re a freshman, right? You don’t understand. Only real tests can distinguish between talent and mediocrity. If we don’t test this way, should it be like your school’s casual quizzes, wildly tossing chalk for grades?”

Not far away, sitting centrally on the podium, the Seventh Elder coldly chuckled, adding, ”Hmph, these students are too accustomed to comfortable days, thinking they can graduate by casually reciting a mentor’s spell? It’s time to show them some reality, let them understand that only with dedication can they progress, otherwise they deserve to be buried in bird’s bellies!”

Qin Xin furrowed her brow.

Why did these words sound so dissatisfying?

”Learning is our right, not an obligation. According to you, do lower-grade students have no survival meaning? Do they deserve to be pecked to death by birds?”

The Seventh Elder sneered, ”Useless ones have no value at all!”

One sentence exposed his ruthless nature completely.
