Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

”Her chip has a defect. When it malfunctions, she’ll spin in place like a robotic vacuum cleaner.”

”When the chip’s battery is low, she’ll swallow near power cords and even climb trees to grab the wires in the air.”

”She particularly likes to hear the sound of a computer starting up. Her eyes light up when she sees the robots in the Nalan family’s lab.”

”Finally, one day when she was taking a bath, the chip short-circuited and almost...”

”And then this poor child was discovered by us to not be a normal human.”

”But if we gave her up at that time, the scientific community would humanely destroy her. After all, she was already a machine, not human anymore.

”Considering that she wasn’t aggressive, and Wu Zhiming’s designs were not perfect, only developing her skills in cooking and housekeeping, I slightly modified her program to keep her by Lan Qingxin’s side.”

”These two children are both very simple and won’t harm each other. Moreover, they are so withdrawn that the world won’t notice them. It’s very safe.”

”Xiangxiang has no other purpose by Lan Qingxin’s side.”

”I also never set any purpose for her other than to protect Lan Qingxin.”

”Young madam, I have told you everything honestly about Xiangxiang.”

Nalan Ye Jue finished speaking, his gaze fixed on her, as if awaiting her judgment.

This might have been the longest explanation he had given to anyone in his life.

Qin Xin’s gaze gradually softened a bit.

The previous cold wariness melted slightly.

”You said Xiangxiang was arranged by you to protect Lan Qingxin? Then, did you set Qingxin as her only master to whom she’s loyal?”

If a robot is programmed with loyalty to only one master, it will sacrifice its life for that master in a crisis.

However, Nalan Ye Jue shook his head: ”Xiangxiang does not have a singularly loyal master. She is an incomplete robot without the precisely designed core functions like Matthew. According to her programming, she will not self-destruct for Lan Qingxin.”

Qin Xin’s heart trembled slightly.

Just like Matthew’s program was not originally intended to protect Sara’s life.

Xiangxiang also wasn’t meant to die for Lan Qingxin.

Their ultimate choices were not because of programming.

But because of emotions.

Robots can truly evolve emotions.

What a shocking and poignant conclusion.

Seeing her sorrowful expression, Nalan Ye Jue’s heart ached again slightly, he said slowly: ”Young madam, you asked me earlier about the purpose of designing Xiangxiang, could it be that Xiangxiang did something... else to you?”

He paused and added, ”You don’t have to speak if you don’t want to, young madam.”

He always felt that beneath Qin Xin’s sadness, there was something deep and unfathomable to him.

Just like he couldn’t understand why his young madam would merge with his sister.

But he didn’t want to pressure her too much.

If she was willing to tell him, she would.

If not, he’d let time reveal the answers.

Qin Xin pursed her lips, and unexpectedly to him, she answered without concealment: ”The several car accidents I had, including the collapse of the Imperial University teaching building, only she seemed to know my whereabouts. Moreover, I monitored her visiting the asylum to consult Wu Zhiming, asking him to design and repair the mini-robot that caused the Imperial University ground collapse and building to fall. If killing me wasn’t her intention, then she’s working for a boss behind the scenes.”

Nalan Ye Jue’s face slightly changed!

Does the young madam think the boss behind the scenes is him?
