Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

A basin of icy cold water was poured over Huo Tingzun’s face once again.

It even had a few pieces of unmelted ice.

”Ha, stupid woman, you’re really ruthless...”

Huo Tingzun finally realized he wasn’t dreaming; Xiao Bailu had really come back.

His eyes turned a few degrees colder: ”Why are you back? You’re not welcome here.”

Particularly sarcastic, particularly nasty.

Xiao Bailu wasn’t angered at all; she just rolled her eyes at him and then, with an even harsher and nastier tone than his: ”To clean up your body.”

Huo Tingzun: ”...”

His lifetime of sarcastic sharp tongue seemed to falter in front of this woman.

Damn it, can’t this stupid woman say something nice for once?

If he had the energy, he would definitely strangle this woman.

Just as he was feeling frustrated, he looked up to find Xiao Bailu leaving right after cursing him.

Huo Tingzun almost choked in anger.

So the stupid woman didn’t come back for him at all?

Did she walk halfway and realize she forgot some of her luggage, came back to get it, and then just happened to find him collapsed by the kitchen door, so she poured cold water on him to humiliate him?

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

He’s not going to be dragged to death by his illness, he might die from anger because of this woman first.

Just as he was sulking.

Suddenly a series of clacks from high heels was heard, and then Xiao Bailu appeared dragging a bedsheet over.

”What are you doing? Trying to suffocate me?”

Huo Tingzun said irritably.

Xiao Bailu’s expression worsened: ”Yes. Suffocate you, then chop you up and flush you down the toilet!”

Huo Tingzun: ”...You!”

Xiao Bailu stopped bantering with him and instead looked down, spreading the sheet under his knees, folding and tying several knots.

And then, grabbing one corner of the sheet, she started to...

Drag!

Drag!

Pulled him forcefully towards the bedroom!

Huo Tingzun: ”...”

Did the stupid woman take him for a pig?

”Why are you so heavy? You’ve been eating too much these past few days, getting so fat. Tomorrow I need to cook less. Really, even dragging you is so hard...” Xiao Bailu complained while wiping the sweat off her forehead as she dragged him.

Huo Tingzun: ”...”

He clearly works out every day, how is he fat?

Blaming the man for being too strong when it’s her who is weak?

He couldn’t bear it anymore and pulled the woman’s arm, stopping her from foolishly dragging the sheet.

Supporting himself against the wall, he slowly stood up: ”I’m okay.”

He walked a few steps.

Very slowly, a bit unsteadily, but he didn’t fall.

Xiao Bailu exhaled: ”I thought you couldn’t make it. Really, should have said something earlier, wore me out.”

Huo Tingzun: ”...”

Looking at the sweat on the woman’s forehead, all his previous anger suddenly vanished inexplicably.

She really came back for him, not to leave him to fend for himself.

Unexpectedly, this woman still has a bit of conscience, a bit of loyalty.

He slowly raised his hand, reaching towards her forehead, wanting to wipe away her sweat.

The next second.

Xiao Bailu slapped his hand away unceremoniously.

”Don’t move. What if you infect me?”

Huo Tingzun: ”...”

His lips moved, but he ultimately didn’t argue with her again, instead quietly lowered his head and put on a mask.

Xiao Bailu helped him into the bedroom, propped up a pillow behind his neck to make him more comfortable.

Then she charged his phone, found a stimulating song, and played it on loop.

”You can’t sleep. You definitely can’t sleep before your fever breaks, okay?”

She went to the kitchen fridge to get some ice, wrapped it in a towel, and pressed it against his forehead to cool him down.

Huo Tingzun stared at her without blinking.

For the first time, instead of bickering with her, he sulkily and obediently replied: ”Mm.”
