Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Nalan Ye Jue frowned: ”Not going to school? Is she messing around with her plants again? Or did she go to the asylum to volunteer again?”

Lu Yi seemed anxious: ”None of those. The flower field near the Pharmacy College hasn’t been tended to these past few days, and all the flowers are wilting. The volunteer organization also said she hasn’t been there. The crucial thing is that all of Miss’s classmates are frantically asking about her whereabouts. I checked at the school; Miss took leave saying she’s going abroad. But her passport is with me, not in her own possession. Without a passport, how could she go abroad?”

Nalan Ye Jue’s expression finally grew more serious: ”When did she stop going to school?”

Lu Yi: ”It was right after the National Competition ended; she didn’t go to school the next day.”

Nalan Ye Jue pondered for a moment.

On the night of the National Competition, he was on a date with Qin Xin and didn’t care to congratulate Lan Qingxin for winning the award.

Because he knew he couldn’t give this sister too much attention.

Otherwise...

He sighed slightly: ”She’s all alone, with nowhere else to go if she doesn’t go to school. What about the maid following her, why didn’t she report immediately?”

Lu Yi: ”Xiangxiang’s report only mentioned not eating. She probably didn’t think Miss would run away from home.”

Nalan Ye Jue: ”You think she’s run away from home?”

Lu Yi bit his lip: ”Actually... Young Master, I’m worried Miss might be attempting suicide this time...

Nalan Ye Jue was silent for a moment: ”No, she wouldn’t. She still has things she’s attached to; she wouldn’t die.”

Lu Yi gathered his courage, saying something he’d normally never dare to say: ”Maybe, Miss has finally come to terms with it, knowing you and Miss Qin will never separate. So she wants to let go, and... and end it all, living without love...”

Nalan Ye Jue’s Adam’s apple moved slightly.

Then slowly said: ”Impossible.”

Lu Yi felt particularly distressed at this moment.

Lately, his mind and sight have been filled with the esteemed Miss Qin, completely neglecting Miss.

Looking back now, Miss is really pitiful.

Miss’s heart is set on only one person, and that’s Mr. Emperor. But Mr. Emperor now belongs entirely to Miss Qin, what attachments does Miss have left?

There’s no other man around Miss for her to hold dear.

If only he knew Miss’s desperation would drive her to suicide, he should have cared for Miss more, together with the Seven Brothers.

While Lu Yi was sorrowful, he suddenly heard Nalan Ye Jue give a stern order: ”Get the maid’s phone connected to me.”

Xinghe Bay.

Qin Xin looked at the clock pointing to twelve.

Just over an hour ago, at ten fifty, she watched the snow falling outside and sent a message asking Nalan Ye Jue if he would return.

The man replied immediately: ”Let this little wife wait. I’ll be home soon.”

It made her blush a bit.

As if she were an anxious wife waiting for her husband to come home.

She was merely worried that the heavy snow would make the roads slippery and driving dangerous.

So she didn’t reply to his message.

But, after waiting for more than an hour, almost midnight now, she still hadn’t heard the sound of the door opening downstairs.

She couldn’t help but worry again while on the bed.

She knows he empathizes with his subordinates. If it’s too late after working overtime, he won’t have Lu Yi and the others drive him back; he drives himself home.

Could his car have broken down on the road?

Run out of fuel?

Flipped over?

A traffic accident?

Countless possibilities surfaced in her mind in an instant.

Each consequence of these scenarios is dangerous.

On such a snowy night, someone with mobility issues driving alone, getting stranded midway could be very troublesome.

Qin Xin couldn’t help but sit up from the bed.

Thinking of going to find him.
