Chapter 1384: Breakthrough and New Beginnings(15)

Since Laney had already purchased the skill cards before that day, Aakesh didnʼt need to explain the process of absorbing the knowledge and simply informed her of the completion of the sale.

”Thank you, Big Brother! I want to train at the Gods & Demons level training area,” Laney thanked Aakesh and then requested the next product.

After the payment was complete, she turned around and walked to the weapons room.

Aakesh, who had only closed his eyes before Laneyʼs exit from the skill room, had another customer in line after Laney, so he immediately focused on that person.

After entering the room, Laney immediately looked at the murals related to the concept of knife usage in the battle. After finding no inspiration, as she had in the past, she immediately walked to the column.

As she pricked the tiny needle with the tip of her finger, her eyes turned blank while a golden, unbreakable barrier surrounded her body.

Laneyʼs consciousness found herself in the familiar white space with the usual blue screen waiting for her. Laney chose her race as an opponent for the training, and as for the environment, she set it at random.

The next moment, a blue light washed over the area, and when the light disappeared, Laney found herself in a desert with chilly winds blowing on her face.

If not for the calming effect of the system in the Gods & Demons level training area, Laney would have frowned since, despite her being a True God level cultivator, she still felt cold whenever the chilly wind touched her skin.

Not long after, a burst of white light appeared in the desert, and when it disappeared, another version of her appeared around a few hundred meters from her.

It wasnʼt her first time entering the Gods & Demons level difficulty in the training area, so she knew the power gap. But since it was her first entry after stepping into the True God level, the situation for her was as to what it was when she entered the training area for the first time.

Ding!

The bell rang, announcing the start of the battle and the training.

Both sides made their moves at the same time, but Laney was the slower of the two. The opponent reached first and slashed gracefully.

Laney didnʼt even see the slash and she was cut into three symmetrical pieces, ending her instantly.

The next moment, Laney found herself back in the white area. Since she had set the opponent at the start to be fixed, the blue screen asking for her to choose the environment appeared.

Laney no longer chose the random option, but a humid, rocky, mountainous area for her training for the day. The reason she chose it was because the target she chose for herself to complete Aakeshʼs test lived in that kind of area.

The next moment, Laney found herself in the rocky mountainous area, standing on the tip of a mountain around seven hundred meters tall.

Not long after, her opponent also appeared. She was at the top of another mountain a few miles away from her.

Ding!

The familiar sound of the bell rang once again, and the two sides made their move.

Despite there being a longer distance between the two compared to the first battle, the situation was the same. The opponent reached her in no time, and soon after, she returned to the white area.

Since her choices were fixed, she found herself back in the rocky mountainous area, no longer at the top.

The time flow difference between the outer world and the training area was ten times, so Laney had ten hours to train.

Ten hours sounded like nothing, but when seen in the context of the battle difficulties, it seemed like an eternity.

Laney kept returning to the rocky mountainous area after every death with the same calm face, having no other thoughts than the battle ahead of her. Just like that, six hours passed in the blink of an eye.

Laney returned to the familiar environment to face another battle. Her mind was calm while her eyes filled with battle intent.

Ding!

The familiar sound of the bell rang, and the two sides made their moves at the same time.

Laney could see the slash coming at her, and she immediately parried the knife. But since she was a dual knife user before she could celebrate her first parry up until now, she turned headless, returning to the white area the next moment.

It wasnʼt her first time facing opponents in the Gods & Demons level training area, and she was no longer an average fighter due to the help of the training area, but it still took her six hours of endless battles to parry the first knife.

Laney wasnʼt disappointed with the result since reaching the True God level wasnʼt just a simple breakthrough. It was the evolution of life to a greater height. There was a reason for the title of God to be attached to the cultivation level title starting at the True God level.

It would take more time for her to win the first battle at the True God level when compared to the same reach at lower cultivation levels.

At the same time, the training area also tamed the arrogance she had accumulated in her heart after the successful completion of the trial. She might or might not win against a True God, but if she underestimated them, she would certainly lose. It was also what prompted her to choose the humid, rocky, mountainous area to get used to.

Time flew by, and more than three hours passed in a flash.

Clang! Clang!

Laney succeeded in repelling the dual attack from her opponent, resulting in the sound of a metallic clash.

The opponent seemed to have anticipated Laney successfully evading the attacks, so it immediately backed away and slashed once more.

Laney dodged the first slash and tried to avoid the second, but the strength with which she controlled the knife was lacking compared to her opponent, and she was cut through the knife.

She then found herself back in the white space but didnʼt return to the rocky mountain. Instead, she found herself back in the store with the golden barrier around her slowly fading.
